workrate and the toughness and relentlessness to land on him for 12 rounds
that's what i reckon although it won't guarantee victory in any way, shape or form
cotto got a gift and quitnana was KTFO in the rematch.
next
Cotto did box Shane in couple of rounds.
Quintnana got KOed in the rematch because he didnt box he went forward but in the 1st fight he should what Paul Williams lacked
Didnt Cotto and Quintana outboxed both fighters and Floyd is better boxer then both of them put together?

Intersting topic.
Floyd is human and he doens make flaw.
I think I will need time to answer this topic better.
I think for a boxer to win Floyd he should first thing outside the box.
It not about the jabs, speed, size....etc that is going to beat Floyd.
I learned one thing from Floyd is about how you use these stuff against you opponnet.
I going with someone with pretty good stamina to begin with because if you dont have a good stamina you might be only effective to beating him in one or two rounds.
One style I think is going to be very effective against Floyd was Kassim Ouma style. He was in you face high workrate type and never gives up with his punchs. So if he goes in and make Floyd fight on the ropes as well as make it a closed phonebooth infight it a good win.
To make matter more intersting is using the jab to get very close. and Put his head on Floyd's chest so he cant see where the body punchs are coming and wont be that ready.
Also another way is to use randomness and rhythme. Most boxer come with similar rhytheme of punchs like left and then right hand. That is how could duck some of the punchs but if someone have the speed and randomness it could confuse Floyd with right and then another right hook. or stop during the middle of throwing combo and sudden change of comb that is not familar with alot of fighters.
Outwork him. Fukk accuracy and fukk power, just swarm the guy and don't allow him to get off punches.
Only 2 guys I could think of .. pac / pwill. Pac though is severly disadvantage by reach. pwill is not so possible pwill could beat him according to your strategy.
Me, off-angle shots. I'm thinking pbf could be susceptible to those because he may not be familiar with those shots. The rest he already seen and found a way to beat conventional type offense.

yep. and it would also help if his opponent is fast and a southpaw
Here is the formula:
1. Southpaw; a righty could still have a chance
2. Need to have same reach as Mayweather or higher
3. Don't walk in front of him
4. Have a decent defense and chin
5. Be aggressive
too easy for a southpaw to beat pbf...just set the timing, of you must have power, counter his punches, be always agressive...stay on his fackin face and ktf him out.
*sigh*
noone knows who the Top WW is...its just a matter of opinion
and Mayweather was the Last REAL WW CHAMP..not this vacant title mess...agreed...to the fullest...
so anyway---like i posted earlier you have to out-think him to beat him---i don't see anybody doing that---not shane, cotto, williams, pac, or anybody else...
Be a real world -class welter weight! This guy, for all of his talent, is not the most couragous boxer in the ring. He actually fights like he's scared to get punched. That's why he seldom puts any real hurt on fighters who are clearly inferior to him. Besides that, it is amazing to me how MW has manage to con the boxing public in general with his act. His fights rarely lives up to the hype--yet he still manages to gain world-wide support for his matches. Let us see him in a meaningful match with a real-live welter-weight such as SSM, Cotto or even Clottey and then if he defeats them in impressive fashion then, and only then, should high praise be warranted. Until then, all of his bouts should be boy-cotted.
co-sign to the fullest. very well said Elder.
floyd has a few flaws that a WW can exploit:
1) economical with punch output
2) can get stuck in a defensive shell for stretches
3) little power at WW
4) not stronger than a real WW
so what do you need to beat floyd?
1) be busy
2) have stamina to stay busy
3) be willing to take one (since floyd doesn't throw 2) to land one
4) push floyd around the ring
that means the only guy at WW that can beat floyd is mosley.
I agree. I'm a Floyd fan. One of his flaws is sometimes his strategy. He waits too long to figure out or attack an opponent. A lot of that comes from his corner. Roger's strategy is always the same. Pot shot and let the opponent wear himself out. Against a fast and aggressive opponent, he would lose too many of the early rounds. In the later rounds, is where Floyd picks it up. Floyd uses this to his advantage with fighters who tire in the later rounds due to poor conditioning. Mosley has excellent stamina, he's fast, and aggressive. This will definitely be a problem for Floyd, because if he doesn't start early he'll be behind on the scorecards.
