Horrible Judge.
Vegas's Only good judges are Adalaide Byrd, Burt Clements, And Patricia Morse Jarmon.
You are kidding, right?

A fight with Ward is an ultimate fight for GGG. It should come after GGG destroys Chavez, Kessler and Froch. If GGG goes straight to fight Ward and defeats him, it would kill the interest for all that other scalps that GGG can possibly take at 160-168 divisions. When GGG team says that they look to Ward down the line, it means just that.
Would love to see him against abraham or golovkin but i guess thats unlikely.
Yeah, would be interesting to see him with Golovkin. It would be a showcase fight for GGG at 168 against credible opposition.
I am only interested in such a fight, because I hope that Vera will rescue a hostage belt from Quillin and than not shy away from an opportunity to unify with GGG.
He is just keepin it real. Everything he said about GGG and his opponents was spot on. I am glad that GGG has such an outspoken team member who can troll and bait.
Suddenly, you're knocking out prime, peak James Toney in fantasy fights.
No, not James Toney, I think GGG would`ve knocked out prime Hopkins.
With Toney I think it would go to the cards.
As for comparing Jirov and GGG, I am actually Jirov fan. But Jirov`s own trainer said that Jirov was nothing special at the beginning, but made it that far, because of his great work ethic. Jirov really became somewhat known only after he won Olympic gold, which came as a surprise for many.
GGG was special from very young days. Everybody who knew him thought that he was phenomenal even before GGG reached peaks of his amateur career.
It was clear win for Toney and it was at cruiserweight, where Toney's punch was not so effective.
At the time of Toney-Jirov fight those who were ringside were not sure who is winning until the last round. The line of thought that it was a clear win for Toney became possible because of the general shift in judging philosophy that favored defensive counter-punching type of boxing. The eagerness to press forward and make the fight is underrated in today boxing paradigm.
GGG, who hasn't fought any Elite Opposition; is gonna knock out a fighter who has never been Knocked Out? Okay.... Keep dreaming!
If you prefer to base your opinion on cold facts, you have to wait until GGG career is over to have a voice here. Behold greatness while you can, fighters primes are short. I believe that during the course of his career GGG will destroy everyone at 154-168 and maybe at 175, if he moves up.
As for knocking out fighters who were never knocked out, you should check GGG resume, because it is littered with such fighters.
When GGG was fighting in Germany I thought that Hopkins would be an intriguing match up. But current GGG is much more formidable fighter than he was 4-5 years ago. GGG by KO.
However, prime Roy Jones Jr probably could upset GGG at 160 lb due to insane reflexes and unique style.
Too flat footed...
Flat-footed? You really think so?
If so, it just shows that you are unable to distinguish between great footwork and flat-footed. Every GGG opponent noted his great footwork, but blind haters can`t see it.
Whoever wins would be by decision and very debatable.
It depends on the judges whether they prefer offensive or defensive minded fighter.
Jirov (one of the representative of Kazakhstan school of boxing) was very game until the very last minute against Toney. GGG is far better fighter than Jirov. GGG is naturally talented and physically gifted with great work ethic, while Jirov was who he was only because of great work ethic.
GBP is in a stage of rebuilding and from how things look like they are doing all the right moves. I guess it has something to do with the fact that Oscar was a fighter himself and has that mentality not to back off of challenges. Also Hopkins played a vital role when he decided to support GBP in this battle.
Last year GBP only had Canelo, but they signed Lemieux and recently Tureano Johnson. Good fighters with lots of entertaining value. Also GBP owns Ring magazine, which is a pretty valuable asset in boxing industry. I guess Haymon really wanted the Ring magazine, its belts and its brand, before embarking on creating his own league.
TV dates on a major network, sure he has some HBO dates but really how much are they trying to have Sadam Ali or Diego De La Hoya on their airwaves.
That is the same for every other promoter, besides Haymon. Still small promotions like K2 and Main Events managed to build new stars - GGG and Kovalev. GBP has some quality fighters and they know what is needed to build stars. On the other hand, Haymon has plenty of air time and a legion of fighters, but no fighter has became a star under his banner yet, while some stars under his guidance were demoted to bums and lost any credibility (Chavez Jr., Broner). I believe that it is only a matter of time when the most talented fighters from Haymon stable would realize that they are wasting their time and potential not getting anywhere in a meaningless fights and would want to jump ship and possibly return to GBP.
the problem with golden boy right now is they just dont have the platform to build stars.
Can you elaborate what platform is needed to build stars and what promoter has it then?
So I take it that CJ ROSS was also right when she had Timothy Bradley beating Manny Pacquiao as well?
I have just realized that CJ Ross was judging Pacqiao-Bradley also. That was another perfect scoring from CJ Ross. Pacqiao lost that fight. I had the same score and I am not trolling. I have more problems to understand scoring in Mayweather-Maidana I, than any score card of CJ Ross.
Canelo no longer wants the cotto fight. If cotto's reps reach out to canelos people to re-negotiate does that makes canelo the a-side?
Yes. That`s what Oscar meant when he said "If we're going to make a future deal down the line, in the future this year or next year - I guarantee that its going to be on Canelo's term".
Cotto is inching closer to become "adonis stevenson" of middleweight division. If Cotto doesn't get Floyd or Pac next, he would turn out to be a laughing stock.
Canelo wants Cotto fight, thus Cotto is A-side.
Froch wants Chavez Jr., Chavez Jr. is A-side.
GGG wants anyone of the above, and GGG will be B-side.
If Ward wants GGG, Ward has to be B-side.
Same is true for Pac-Floyd.
GGG & his team claim they'll fight anyone, but not Ward lol. What a P*ssy. He needs to become a real man like Carl Froch and step up
I take it that you agree then that when GGG is calling Froch he is not making any step up?
Andre Ward said he'd fight him. Team GGG suddenly went very silent....
Ward fight will happen in due time. GGG and his trainer are eager to fight anyone, but managers and promoter are also thinking bout making most money in the process.
But both Ward and GGG is on another level than Froch.
Froch fight is a gimme fight for GGG.
Easy fight for GGG. That is why GGG wants this fight, while Froch not so much.
Even on his best day Froch ability was not equal to GGG, but by now he is very close to being a shot fighter.
At 168 only Ward is equal to GGG in abilities, but if they fight right now, GGG would KO Ward also. (due to Ward being rusty. He was rusty even in Roriguez fight).
Cotto had his chance and lost. Last rounds were particularly one-sided beating by Mayweather. Khan with his speed is much more interesting opponent for Floyd, than Cotto.
Al can have a successful year or two if he stacks his cards, but after that he will flop big time after all his main attractions would sort it out among themselves.
Can`t hold it against Billy Joe.
He barely got his way with Eubank Jr and Lee.
He is not ready for GGG, probably never will.
But he doesn`t pretend to be number 1 in the MW and is very real about the whole situation and his place. There is nothing bad about it.
