I don't know what type of personal money issues Floyd has going on but he's scheduled like 3 exhibitions this year so one thing fs is he should be ready for Pacquiao
I don't know If I can really blame Floyd either he's 49 years old, this fight don't really count and either way Manny isn't expected to win whether it's an exhibition or not, it's not rocket science how has many looked in his exhibitions compared to Floyd. Manny been losing and coming up with excuses like "Oh, I didn't have enough time to train" Nah, man It's father time. Manny been in way too many wars to mess with Floyd at this age..
Ehh don't know If I'm buying that..Wilder came on late but Chisora def landed more and more often that means the judges had to give him next to no credit for all the body work Chirosa did throughout the fight.
Seems the fight was a bit of a farce as well... long as Wilder could stay on his feet being that he still wants to continue his career he'd get the nod, business decisions were made. Wilder can still be food for AJ
Probably not even Crawford could be Fundora. Crawford has never face anyone with a longer reach than him.
Please...Classic case of you don't know ish about boxing. Fondura took an L to an OK counter puncher, Bud Crawford is a GREAT counter puncher, one of the best we've ever seen in the history of the sport. Thurman, on the other hand was never great at counter punching so there's that..
For the record Bud Crawford went on record and said he wanted to and also offered a fight to Fondura and Fondura's team turned the fight down, just like Boots team turned the fight down...so all this woulda coulda shoulda, they all had their chance to face Bud.
Canelo at 168 >>>>> Canelo at 154
Fans really need to realize that Canelo at 154 weight was draining himself and still in the learning phase. What Crawford will face at 168 is completely different fighter. Stop bringing up Canelo at 154 and below in the discussion.
If anything you can say that Canelo is way more experienced now but the general consensus even among pros like RJJ and others during the fight was that it really didn't matter what Canelo weighed he wasn't beating no Floyd Mayweather that night and for the record Floyd weighed 149 while Canelo was 164lbs on fight night.
I don`t care what anybody says. Floyd would never fight anybody at 168, lol.
"anybody"....You do realize Floyd is still fighting right? When Floyd faced Logan Paul, Paul weighed in at 189! Floyd most recent opponent Gotti III weighed in at 181lbs, so what are you even talking about?
For a man Floyd age pro or not to be facing guys that much bigger and taller than him says a lot in itself....
This is why when they went to talking Crawford or Ortiz I wasn't to keen on it; Sure it'd be a good fight but a guy like Bud can ruin your career..and he's only got maybe 2 fights left in his career not sure Ortiz is best choice
I had it being more of a draw tonight but either way Ortiz took a lot of punishment tonight It was funny because I was thinking hell the Danny Garcia we saw against Benavidez at 154lbs might have done a better job on Bohachuk than that lol but Ortiz has his moments, strong as an ox but just needs more exp in mid to deep waters
To me even though Floyd was a lil bit younger at 33 this fight for Crawford was like when Floyd fought Cotto at 154lbs. Different style but same difficulty level. He still went on to beat Canelo 3 years later...
Gregor always talks like he so big and hes really not much bigger than Floyd. Canelo is huge and he didn't even appear to be that much bigger than Floyd. Weight wise, yes but in terms of stature and frame, no. Cant wait to see the face off though.
I think Gregor gonna learn the hard way about Floyd's strength though if he's strong enough to keep Canelo, Cotto, Spence..ECT at bay then Coner won't be a problem after 2 round he's finished
She's a clown for calling out Cecelia.. Weight bully shyt... Cecelia is not a MW an has said many times 154 is too big for her and she has no intention of fighting there period.
Who has unified the WW belts?
Who has the better resume in the WW?
Spence- nope
Crawford-nope
Thurman-yes
Based on record which is a fact, Thurman still the 1 WW until defeated. Spence and Crawfords claim is based hype.
That's the problem. You guys still talking about what Thurman did 2+ years ago. That's not even relevant in 2019-2020. He barely beat Porter and won a split decision vs Garcia, that's not exactly dominate, that's worthy of rematches. Then he didn't even defend the titles he gave 1 up. Then came back and admittedly was 2-3 punches away from getting stopped by a C level boxer.
Now there's new top dawgs at 147. The names are Spence and Crawford and they are both reigning Champs
And Thurman has been doing every thing else but trying to get in the ring with either 1 of them to prove he's still the best.
#1 my azz
Why not? No active welterweight has a better resume than either of these guys.
Pacquiao is past it and Thurman hasn't fought anybody in 2+ years after winning 2 close decisions over Porter and Garcia and ducking a willing Spence in the process... It's amazing that they even let Thurman keep the 1 belt he has for so long. You can't stay at #1 for chit you did over 2 years ago.
The winner of this fight is the no.1 fighter at welterweight.
When will Crawford and Spence step up?
Your dreaming... Neither of these 2 are number 1 at 147.
Part of Floyd's brand is being the bad guy. So any chance to undermine him in anyway is pro-Floyd's brand anyway so I doubt Floyd cares he's been "unseated" when he wasn't even in the race to begin with. Floyd's name mentioned in any article probably increases the clickability of said article by some nice %.
Seems like just love to take shots and throw dirt on his name, never mind the fact that the story is false to begin with. Mayweather didn't get "unseated", he retired, and had he not, he most likely would still be the highest paid athlete.
Almost every news outlet has been repeating the same fake story, which doesn't even make sense because Floyd hasn't fought professionally in not 1, but almost 2 years now so of course he's not going to be the highest paid athlete.
Forbes just make up ****ty numbers based on assumptions. The company isn’t privy to what these people are making.
I agree. I have nothing against the man but I think that whole Jay Z being a billionaire thing was str8 BS as well..
Algeri did have some good slick moments against Pacquiao even seemed to have decent power when he sat down in the pocket although few and far in between. I'd say he has a decent chance at upsetting Khan If he's willing to stand and exchange and can deal with the speed..
People are so shocked Brook can get down to 147 the man is not even 5'10 Brooks muscular but in the real world Brook is short about 5'8 3/4 and is not a big guy.
Just because he likes to eat and blows up to 170+lbs don't mean that's his natural weight. For his frame that's probably leaning more towards overweight actually....
Brook is 31 now so maybe he should be at 154 but he won't be a big JMW and if he simply stayed in shape in between fights he should be able to make 147 but I think he just likes food and let's himself go a bit in between fights..
But being that Kell will probably blow right back up after this fight. Win or lose he should go up to 154 and do the fight with Cotto that they were entertaining not to long ago If Cotto still wants it..
At 154 he would be facing boxers who are his size or bigger on fight night, that's not good for Kell, unless he fights the same sort of terrible opposition like he did at 147, he would be beaten by the top guys at 154.
Yea thats why I say Cotto is best choice for him depending on what happens in a few. If he win's Khan should be next or Thurman unification..
Funny thing to me is it took a welterweight to step up for these guys too find the ballz to fight GGG.
Jacobs did so well because he probably studied the GGG vs Brook fight 1 million times then skipped the weigh in and came into the ring as a duper middleweight. It's a joke.
Without Brook giving him to confidence to step up I think Jacobs might have gotten KTFO or atleast battered a lot more...
Holyfield worked on Extra leg strenght in the Tyson rematch. The result was that he had more strength to push Tyson back unlike the first fight where they met centre ring. This probably tells us that Khan plans to be the dominant fighter and get Judah backing up. I imagine he will try to push of his back foot and take the initiative forcing Judah to reactive.
Its a good idea to force the pace and shows its a positive gameplan. He has to be very careful early on with someone as quick and powerful as Judah especially if he plans on being positive and coming forward. His chin will be tested vs the Brooklyn veteran but lets not forget Judah doesnt have an iron jaw either and he has been known to fade in fights so given his age, the longer it goes the more Amir will dominate. He'll bust him up and the only question for me is does he stop him late or let it go to points.
It wouldn't be wise to try an back Judah down IMO, that's when Judah is most dangerous, best bet is for Khan to box circles around Judah and keep him at a distance for 12 rds...
khan thinking too far ahead its ok to think to yourself but he's basically jinx himself now, if khan does manage to get past Judah, Bradley crushes him, khan too busy looking for a big payday that probably won't even happen he should be thinking about prescott and bradley not floyd..
Floyd already has a psychological advantage because Victor is 24, I'm 24 years old and let me tell you I would be in awe just to be in the same ring is Mayweather and I'm sure Vic feels the same way like wow, I'm fighting Floyd Mayweather he'll will be in shock more then anything... very nervous not easy to explain but I can guarantee you that you will see what I'm talking about come fight night (the hesitation, puzzled look..ect)
Khan looked his best training under Ariza when was able to take punches from Maidana for 12 rounds. These other strength conditioning coaches seem to be making him top heavy again like he was when Prescott and Garcia KO'ed him. He also seems to lose focus throughout his fights. When watching him you are just waiting for him to get hit with a big punch to and see his reaction because you know it's coming. Diaz will catch Khan with a big punch and we will see how he reacts. Khan all around a very good fighter the only things he really needs to do his keep his hands up when he backs up or side steps and move his head after he punches. He likes to prove he can take a punch an throws to many combos. If Khan pot shotted like Floyd does he'd be great. I think Floyd Sr could have done a lot more with him then the guy he's with now who got Dallas KO..
Khan is a little faster hand speed wise but I think Khan's best days are past him. He may be young but he's been in a lot of wars and is a bit shop worn now. Khan tends to slow down as the fight goes on too also I think Floyd physically is much stronger then him and would have a good shot at knocking Khan out...
