IT is not the first time there has been plenty of fowl play in boxing. But this week could see a fighter called Five-Star Grilled Chicken' eclipse Floyd Mayweather. Last weekend, Billy Joe Saunders was chucking cooked poultry at Deontay Wilder in Nandos. Click Here To Read More]
Man boxing is a mess when it comes to P4P. I feel like no one defends against their equal these days.
We had so many years or greats I guess I'm spoiled.
Crawford has been in weak division, he is now at Welter. He does need to fight Spence and Thurman soon though.
Garcia stepped up against Broner, and fighting Spence is way above the call of duty.
GGG dominated his division, fought anyone who wanted it, many avoided him.
It is there attitude to want to fight the best that matters.
If Crawford started making excuses not to fight Spence, then I would then question him.
Usyk never messed around, the WSB helped him to fight the best in the division. He will probably look to fight Bellew and then go to Heavyweight.
Loma as well tested himself, fighting Salido in his 2nd fight, stepping up against Linares
Yeah i agree about Loma and Usyk and GGG.
Mikey didn't really step up v Broner, maybe in weight but in general he's already above Broner haha. Broner has lost to any decent fighter he's faced. Broner is basically more hyped Ricky Burns in the sense he picked up a lot of titles but fell short at a certain level. Anyway i do rate Mikey and will give him huge credit if he fights Errol but he's always said he's gonna fight this guy and that guy and it never happens, so i'll reserve my judgement until then.
As for Crawford, i agree, it's not his fault the divisions were weak but let's see how willing he is to fight the best guys now he's in a strong division. I hope he does because i don't doubt his abilities.
So even past their best they were p4p top 10 and world champions? Hell why arnt your favorite fighters even doing half of this?
The point is he waited on a few of them to decline, that what makes him a coward and a chicken.
Lomachenko as done more than anyone is so few fights.
Usyk has cleaned out the division in record time
Crawford already a 3 weight champ, but he got to step up to Spence and Thurman soon.
GGG has dominated his division, fighting the best if they wanted it.
Floyd always had to have home advantage and fix everything in his favor for the fights. Smart, yes, brave and willing to challenge yourself, No.
When Floyd went to Welter did he face, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito and Williams? Those were the best fighters in the division. No he faced Baldomir, Judah and Hatton
Crawford has fought B-level fighters at best. Garcia always says he's going to fight top fighters but never seems to. GGG never really fought top opposition for a long time, but he was avoided a lot so that can't be helped.
Really, how can you say those fighters want to prove themselves but Floyd didn't?

I think it was only the Corrales fight where he was not favorite.
Crawford, Lomachenko, GGG, Usyk, Garcia, I like fighters that want to prove themselves.
All of those guys have been the favorite in every fight they've had...
Yes, never fought a great fighter in their prime.
He is a control freak, look at the Maidana fight how he made a fuss over the gloves then paid of Maidana a puncher to wear gloves with more cushion, and then when that still wasn't enough brought in his own ref for the rematch.

Year after year never took the hardest fights.
When you look at great champs such as Lennox, Ali, Oscar, Roy, Hopkins SRL, Duran and many more, they chased the big fights.

Names only tell you half story, Floyd did know it would fool people though and used that to take on great fighters when they were past their best.
Feel free to like Floyd and his character all you like, don't expect me to do so though.

Floyd's record is the most wins without a loss or a draw for a career.
Menayothin would have to retire with 51+ wins, no losses, and no draws.
If he gets to like 59-0 or whatever and loses then the record goes back to Floyd.
Mayweather might have got some guys at advantageous times but that was also him understanding his role was to retire those cash cows whose time had come and gone, because he was better than them basically. Pacquiao largely did the same thing. I only hold it against Mayweather that Mayweather vs Pacquiao didn't happen sooner. I could say hold against both of them if you prefer that.
I've been watching Floyd since I was young, that is how long he had been on top.
and none are even close to Floyd's resume
