CHRIS ALGIERI gives lectures to students and now he's ready to teach Amir Khan a lesson.
The American has a masters degree in clinical nutrition and has been talking at universities and schools in the build up to his crunch fight with Khan here tomorrow night.
Algieri, 31, lost the WBO welterweight title he won last June after stunning Ruslan Provodnikov by being heavily beaten by Manny Pacquiao five months later.

Khan Malignaggi II right here, with a similar ending.
Algieri is not as good as Malinaggi lol, or even close. It is fun to hate on Paulie, but when it comes to boxing, credit where credit is due.
Algieri was a bad cherry-pick by Pacquiao, lets see it for what it is.
All because he squeaked by the badly over-rated Provodnikov.
Richard Abril schools Provodnikov, doesnt mean that Pac should fight him either.
I agree
losing to Pacquiao 120-102 is better than beating Alexander 120-108
Damn 120-102.. That's gotta be a record.. Algieri is forever awesome for that in my book.
With John David Jackson in Chris's corner, I give him a real good chance in pulling the upset. U got Kovalev's trainer vs Ward's trainer. Fight looks good on paper tho. I can afford to lose $50 on Algieri, he's 8-1...I'm taking it.
If he beats Khan, he should follow the Mayweather gameplan and fight the best and hottest trending fighters. If he can't get Mayweather, those fighters would be Matthysse, Garcia, Brook or the winner of Porter/Broner.
Forget Provodnikov! Fighting recent losers with a decent reputation is the gameplan that has been followed by too many so-called great fighters in the last five years (including Khan and Alvarez).
good post !
But just one thing.....
Back when Canelo was about 19, he was bashed continually - especially on this site - for underwhelming opponent selection.
Some of that criticism was fair, but most was ignorant. Personally the weight manipulation annoyed me more than his opponent selection. I get the feeling that a lot of fans seem to think that fighters are born, and not developed over time.
The two most common allegations levelled at Canelo (and Chavez, I specifically remember) were..... "he will never fight a top 10 opponent"..... and, "he will never win a world title".
I remember those two things specifically.
Wise-heads continually stated..... give him time, hes just a kid.
Canelo just fought the 4 best JMW's on the planet, CONSECUTIVELY.
That is why I dont take casual fans very seriously.
I agree with your post entirely, except I have removed Canelo from that list now :)
^^^this^^^ and then he still has the Provo rematch.

I applaud Algieri for his view that he did not want an easy fight after the Pacquaio loss. What he doesn't understand is that Amir Khan is just the opposite and he wouldn't be fighting Algieri if Khan thought Algieri was a tough opponent.
Algeri did have some good slick moments against Pacquiao even seemed to have decent power when he sat down in the pocket although few and far in between. I'd say he has a decent chance at upsetting Khan If he's willing to stand and exchange and can deal with the speed..
Algieri, please KO this pretender. Im gonna go with Algieri to shock Khan. If that does indeed end up happening, its bcuz THERE ARE LEVELS TO BOXING as ive been preaching and Algieri has been facing the better comp out of the 2.
The bold is why Khan will outclass Algieri, and possibly stop him.

I'll go with Algieri on this one too, just to see Khan shut the H3LL UP for the rest of the year.

I doubt Khan will lose that bad against Pacquiao if he goes to full 12. And again I doubt Algieri would put on a clinic against Alexander like Khan did.
