Yes it wouldve been the same or even worst. What did the ref do wrong? I thought Tszyu was supposed to be so great and dominant on the inside? He always beats guys up and punches in the clinches and on breaks. Thats just a excuse. Tszyu hit him low so he came back with one like a real champ does.
Ruiz, Castillo, Tszyu, and some others always fight in the clinches and grabs guys. Now because it happeneds to him its wrong? Tszyu always hits people behind the head also. Thats how those guys win. Castillo or Tszyu wouldnt be nearly as good if they didnt wear fighters down in the clinch. Now happeneds to him and you get upset.
The bottom line is that Hatton did to Tszyu what Tszyu does to others
Hatton had a good gameplan against Tszyu & the ref let him get away with all these things, so he did what he had to win. However, you are lost if you think the ref wasn't being a total Jack Ass. He was allowing them to clinch, rabbit punch, & wrestle around without breaking them up. A good ref doesn't allow that to go on. It wasn't a grappling match it is boxing. You are also wrong saying that Tszyu style is to fight inside & clinch. Tszyu is best when he fights at a distance where he can get full extension on his straight rights (his best punch). He will stay right in front of his opponent but he doesn't fight inside they way the ref allowed in this fight. It is okay to lean on each other and fight inside (like Castill/Corrales), but they weren't clinching/holding & throwing rabbit punches & dirty shit like that. They were doing great inside fighting while leaning on each other.

That fight was custom made for Hatton. The referee allowed alot of hitting off of clinches & roughhouse tactics that would not be allowed by a good referee. Hatton deserves number 5 in my opinion, but probably no higher. You at least have to consider that Tszyu might not have been the BEST version of himself. However, he still looked very good and coming off a blowout victory of Mitchell would many thought would beat Tszyu. Hatton has owned a lot of fringe contenders, and then beat Tszyu. This is good enough for top 5, but not top 3 (yet).
Also, why not have Hatton over Morales. Hatton weighed 147 on fight night whereas Morales weighes 141, 6 lbs difference. You don't think if Hatton was naturally 6 lbs smaller that he could beat Morales? I do.
No I don't. I don't think he could beat Morales, Barrera, JMM, Pacman, Corrales, JLC, Mayweather. He could probably beat Gatti but it would be a good fight. The bottom line is that the ref did suck & was letting it become a dirty wrestling match instead of a boxing match, but you can't blame Hatton for that. He did what he had to win. He took advantage of what the ref was allowing him to do. In the states I think it would have been a different fight & Tszyu probably would have won because he would have been able to fight at a distance, but Tszyu lost some of my respect for quitting with 1 lousy round left. It wasn't a very good fight to watch & the WWE shit with both fighters grabbing the mic & talking was gay, but Oh Well. Anyways props to Hatton, but don't come to U.S. and fight or he won't have the belt for long.
Byrd would lose to both Tyson & Toney. Toney has had like 72 fights before Ruiz, was tested in all & never nothing. He had two major muscle injuries & then tested positive. if his head wasnt there he shoulda pulled out the fight, theres no excuses when u step in the ring, Mayweather was near perfect that night, Corralles the big puncher could even hit Mayweather flush, he threw 5 punches one round, thats his own fault, a rematch would be the same, Corralles might in a round or 2 but he will still get stopped. Mayweather is too good for him and he will show his greatness against Gatti. He wasn't gonna pull out the fight when that was his biggest payday to date.
