Oscar took a beating against Felix Sturm who was suppose to be his middleweight tune up, there is no way he should of went on to fight Hopkins after that performance, but too late, time and money had already been invested. I say if you are an Oscar fan, just be happy Hopkins took it easy on him.
Floyd, unlike any opponent Pac has faced recently, has never been hurt or beaten up in the ring. There is no wear and tear to aid Pac toward a victory. He's going to be facing a 100% fighter.
yeah, any decent fighter could beat a blown up opponent who isnt at their natural weight and are slow. This isn't the same marquez that fought manny. floyd had all the advantage that fight, weight, height, reach etc and Marquez was forced on the offensive because of the lack out agression and running of floyd. We all know marquez isnt an offensive fighter so of course FMJ-JMM isnt like the PAC-JMM
Well Cotto certainly didn't beat the blown up past their natural weight Pacquiao.....or are you about to switch it up and say that Pac is a natural welter.
if you understand boxing the skills and fighting IQ floyd showed was still very impressive, even though he ofcourse was meant to beat marquez.
he didnt do it with his size, he did it with his brain and skills. the size takes away most of the glory, but not all of it. a true boxing fan can still see the skill and ring smarts of floyd and be impressed.
Exactly, and I reckon that Pac would have the struggle of his life against the Floyd that fought Marquez.
Much respect for what??? Getting beat up, running, and eventually stopped. I grow tired of the Cotto gots Heart arguement. All fighters have heart, any man who steps in the ring got heart.
So Pac doesn't need Floyd? Is that why every interview asked will he fight Floyd next? Why the crowd chanted we want Floyd, why everyone in boxing is talking bout Floyd??
Is anyone surprised, we have seen Cotto's running before against Mosley, Corley, Clottey, Margarito, and now Pac, this is what he does when he's tasting leather. A strange tactic for a fighter who pretends to be so tuff
The fact that he stayed in there almost up to the end shows alot of heart. Respect the fact that he was very gracious even after being badly beaten. If you can't see that, then you're the one that has a problem.
Well I didn't like anything about the way he fought, he fought a stupid fight, he could of, and should of done much better.
Cotto as slow footed as he his, could circle and back away from Pac even when he was hurt and swollen. Pac was actually frustrated by the tactic, Floyd can do that all night and throw the lead left hook and straight right hand. Sadly, I think Pac is an easy opponent for Floyd.
I guess Roach wants to get fans and media back on his side by saying Floyd wants 154 with 10oz gloves, I dont believe Arum would of flew to the Phillipines if thats what Floyd wanted.
