I personally think he's a pussy who ran from Tyson when Tyson was at the top of his game. The way he fought Tua was shameless, considering Tua is a midget and he's a giant.
Anybody else?
I consider Lennox Lewis an excellent fighter that fought like a chess player, using his brains during his big fights. He had all the tools except a solid chin, and would present a challenge to many alltime greats.
I would say how ever, that a young Mike Tyson would knock him out early.
As long as he is healty enough to step back into the ring, this is great news!! I am big fan of Mesis, and can't wait to see him get back in the ring. Hell yeah!
I hated him while he boxed, but with the division so weak, he might have gotten a belt down the line. Agree?
Sure he could have. The divsion sucked (and still does), and Mesi definitely had the tools to take home a belt. It's a shame what happened to him. I was a fan.
when chavez fought tszyu..he was almost 39...but me personally i dont think he would have beaten tszyu at any point in his career..who agrees?
I agree. A prime Chavez would have defeated Tszyu for sure. Probably by UD.
Mike Tyson would have a few glorious moments early on, because of his speed and explosiveness. But he would never stand a chance to beat Foreman. I say Foreman knocks out Tyson early.
George Foreman by ko4.
I think Klitschko will defeat Peter. He has all the advantages, and should be able to take home a safe win. He must be careful though, and avoid Peters killer punch. If Peter has a solid chin, he will probably last the distance.
Wladimir Klitschko by UD (or late stoppage).
Well personally I still rate Joe Louis as the best I've seen, and ofcourse there was Joe Gans, Joe Walcott, Sam Langford, Jimmy Wilde, Henry Armstrong, Harry Greb.. but Sugar Ray Robinson was maybe the first boxer who was really great to watch, flash in and out of the ring, but there are many more cats who are candidates for best of all-time.
Joe Louis was the greatest heavyweight in my opinion, but Sugar Ray Robinson has to be the greatest P4P. He had it all.
Definitely Muhammad Ali. He had almost superhuman reflexes.
Mike Tyson was quick as well, but no one really comes close to a prime Ali.
Roy Jones jr also had awesome reflexes.
Mike Tyson will get alot more chances, even if he loses the next fight. The reason is simple enough; he is Mike Tyson. A living legend. His fights will make money for years to come if he decides to risk his health and keep on fighting. People seem to never stop believing in him, always saying he could be champion again.
As a contender he is finished. No way in hell does Tyson win another title. If he continues boxing, he will be facing bums. Knocking out a few, and probably getting knocked out himself along the way. To put Tyson in the ring with a champion is just stupid. Tyson would risk getting seriously hurt in a fight like that. Ten years ago he would clean out the division, but not anymore.
Sapp is an ex us footballer isnt he turned K1 fighter. He is a major draw in Japan apparantly
That´s correct. He was a professional footballplayer a few years back, before getting involved with K1. This guy is HUGE and looks kinda impressive... Until you see him fight that is. This guy has got nothing to be afraid of. Any decent heavyweight boxer would take this guy out. He has some power, but not as much as one would think by looking at him. No skill and no stamina. Letting Sapp fight Tyson would be madness. Tyson wouldn´t need to train for this one. Ko by 30 seconds.
Joe Louis. He never wasted a punch and always found his target. Toney and Jones are also wourth mentioning, but Louis was more accurate than both of them.
Do you expect Fenech to say...."You know, Mike is an old fighter. He's looking O.K., I guess. He can train his ass off, & will never be anywhere near what he was. But, we'll do our best to keep him from embarrassing himself." ????????????
Good one! :D This "Tyson is back" bs, has been going on for too long. Every goddamned time Tyson gets a new trainer, they tell us that he is training better now and that he will be champion again. I´m sick and tired of it all. Tyson is so far over the hill, it´s embarrasing. He will never become champ again. Don´t get me wrong, I am a big fan of the Tyson of yesterday, but I am also convinced of the fact that nothing or nobody can bring him back to the top.
McBride could easily beat Holyfield at this state of his career. Holyfield is only like 213 pounds and he does not have a whole lot stamina or punching power anymore. He would get absolutely mauled by McBride worse than Tyson did.
I think McBride is a crappy fighter, but I have to agree with you in that he would stop Holyfield. Holy has got nothing left.
Yeah except for one thing I have to say in Tyson's defence. James Bonecrusher Smith,Tony Tucker,TNT Tubbs,James Quick Tillis, Jose Ribalta, Trevor Berbick, Pinklon Thomas are by no means bumbs.
Well, the topic here is Tyson at 19 with Cus in his corner. He didn't fight these guys until later... At 19 he fought bums. He was awesome of course, but they were still bums.
Further, Tyson was not unbeatable at 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 or whenever. He looked great and could beat the living daylight out of mediocre foes, but unbeatable? Please. Ali would destroy him, and so would a lot of other past greats.
