Aren't you the guy who lost the bet and needs to expose himself and delete his account forever??
Technically he still hasn't lost the bet. Fight hasn't been announced yet
Once Americans see Joshua they'll demand he step up his competition.. HOPEFULLY. Probably even question why he hasn't faced Wilder or Fury since hes won the title from Martin.
From my understanding, AJ is already known here but with room to improve. I would imagine fighting on Showtime in New York would grow his brand..not sure how well DAZN will do. But anything that can make the Furywilder fights bigger I'm cool with but only if hes serious about facing either. Rather than only APPEARING to want the fight publicly.
cherry-picked, was aafraid of many boxers like Martinez, Williams, Margarito...was down vs Judah, about to go down vs Mosley but held on, touched the canvas vs Hernandez,...was beaten by Castillo, Oscar DLH, Maidana, Paquiao, etc, ...who cares if he was the highes paid athlete? The reason was pure marketing, people paid to see him lose, like wrestling.
I'm in agreement with Martinez, he was on fire at that time. All the others are subjective I guess. Winky Wright is the only one who holds water in terms of a duck. Floyd backed out of that fight, Winky was too big n it would've been a 2 div weight jump. Chino gave him a run for his money though..Dam good fight
Fury's story is nothing less than inspiring. Has all the ingredients of a positive figure. His out of ring struggles add intrigue to his achievements inside the squared circle.
Might be salty, or just critical. Being critical is not always a negative thing, it's about cutting through the promotional spin and rhetoric to attempt to discover what's really going on.
Long time boxing fans have to put up with a lot and shell out a lot, so some of us feel we are entitled to question certain figures motives.
I respect Canelo's skills in the ring and he has an impressive resume for still such a young man.
But that resume also conceals some shifty moves, lacking in integrity and respect. Between Cotto and GGG, he fought Liam Smith, at 154, Amir Khan at 155 then a weight drained JCC jr at 164.5.
Overall this time he was indicating that he was ready to fight GGG when he had no intention of doing so.
He binned his 'Middleweight' WBC belt rather than fight a then prime and ready Golovkin.
Is he allowed to do that? Of course. Is it the behaviour of a champion? I'll leave that one open.
Cheers and respect.I gotcha bud. I prefer the CaneloGGG outcomes at the full 160 vs Canelo Cotto at 155 for the WBC strap. Now it has more credence..which I guess I can give Canelo a pass for dumping the strap.
AJWilder happening before the Fury rematch only makes it bigger..or an AjFury. Definitely glad to see Fury back in the mix at the top. I say he beats both.
I don't see Wilderjoshua any bigger than it is right now. And Fury against either can only get bigger if Wilderjoshua happens 1st. Fury is In good spot right now.
he avoided and waited 2 years for ggg to get older, got caught roiding during the fights and only 10-30 percent of people had him winning the fights. thats a credibility problem. obv if you didn't pay attention to how he fought khan and dropped his belt, dont care about roiding, and somehow scored the fights for canelo then yes he's going to look pretty good in your mind.
I'd rate Canelo over GGG at the full 160 higher than his win vs Cotto at 155 when he initially won the WBC strap. Dude Khan @155 is a weak defense no Matter how you cut it. Khans has no credentials above 147, I barely even rate him there. 140 he was legit. WAS. 155? No way. He dumped the strap because of the purse split if it was mandated... (I didn't follow negotiations at the time) didn't Canelo challenge GGG at the full 160 after though?? fighting the Champ at MW at the full 160, which GGG legitimately was, I consider Cottos MW "reign" a farce. Personally I give Canelo a pass for dumping the strap. The GGG win was more impressive. As for the testing, dude Canelo popped for Clen early this year no denying that... and As far as I know there was testing done for the 2nd fight in September and no positive tests right?? Canelo beat GGG dude.
"and that's why we picked him. Just like we knew GGG was old, like my promoter BHop said commenting his fight for HBO vs Brook TWO YEARS before I was willing to fight him. Yo soy uno cherry picker especial!!!"
Screw Canelo
GGG fought great in both fights. Hes a great fighter..still. Canelo beat GGG..at 160lb, no catch weight. Best win on Canelos resume. Sounds like a hard pill for you to swallow. GGG lost in a CLOSE fight..no shame in that.
Whatever just to downplay that outcome huh? SMH. I'm a GGG fan also but dude c'mon
They are all in a great position mate, they will all make a lot of money if they arnt greedy...especially thier teams.
Definitely. Let's hope we get AJ into the mix. Hopefully hearn is serious
8/9 defences with a unification fight says it all.
If you have a brain you will figure it out. IIRC Both benefitted from careful matchmaking at that time they both won their 1st belts. It wasn't until the year or so both significantly upped their opposition. Aj stepped up against Klitch, Wilder with Ortiz. Aj and Wilder were a clear #1 & #2 with the debate being a winner Is clearly the Champ reestablishing the Lineage left in Fury's absence. The Champ is back.
If he didnt dump the strap, canelo 3g (1 and 2) would have been a mandatory defense and been either 55/45 or 60/40 split. That was the issue.
Business move, definitely. I didn't follow the negotiations at the time so I didn't know the motives for vacating. I considered GGG the man to beat at 160 even with Canelo beating Cotto, I didn't consider him the Champ until he beat GG
Dang! Some salty fans in here. Dude Canelo takes the toughest fights and beats them at their ideal weight. Period.
IMO Canelo taking on these heavier opponents is a strategic move, to see how he takes their shots, extra wt etc., before taking on a solid opponent at 160. Great approach IMO. Honestly I'd like to see him face Charlo..i think Canelo beats both Charlos. Based on his opposition, how could there be any doubt Canelo will not face the best?
Harrison's jabbed nicely, feinted the hell outta Jermell. Kept him from getting in position then stepped off line. That ish worked..Charlo didn't throw any combinations.
Pac can very well beat today's top WWs. Personally, I can confidently place him in the top 5.. honestly there hasn't been much movement at 147 since MayPac, Thurman stands out with solid wins..In his absence theres beem no movement at all, since the PBC "movement " only he has stood out. Spence over Brook was a solid win and he established himself up there. All Pac gotta do is get a better win than most in the top 5-10..since none of face each other.
Few things I stress before anointing a fighter is level of opposition and activity. In the fashion Charlo is winning..impressive but his opposition level can only get him rated so high. You're only as good as your opposition. Right now Charlo is #5 or #6 @ 160..behind 4BJS, 3Jacob's. 2GGG and 1Canelo, it can be argued Andrade is #5 but Charlo has a great team behind him. If Charlo beat any of the names mentioned itll no doubt get Canelos attention.. to be seen as a more credible opponent only makes that fight bigger. Other than being promoted well Charlo will have the credibility of beating a quality Top 5 MW opponent..which he lacks atm.
Brook may opt for the Horn fight. Lesser skilled with a name.
VargasBrook is a good competitive fight but I think Brook sees Horn as the more winnable fight.
This writer's heartbroken. Canelo to blame?
Judging by Canelos resume' there's nothing to indicate hes a duck or will duck. Let's say we get a matchup in any combo of BJS, Charlo, Andrade, or Jacob's.. a winner will stand out and be an attractive opponent. Its difficult to rate one above the other when they aren't fighting each other. Canelo ain't avoiding these guys, they're avoiding each other so they won't miss out on that payday. GGG should face one of them, would be one nice come back fight to show hes still a top dog at MW..which IMO he still is. A solid #2
Fury declared himself retired and lost the lineal championship the the same way as Lennox did when he retired.
If you say retirement doesn't matter then Lennox still has it.
No one best the man who beat the man.
Fury was the man who beat the man. The lineage was left vacant in Fury's absence..the lineage would've been restored IF the #1 & #2 wouldve fought which would have established a Division Champion. Fury came back challenging the #1 or #2 HW and drawing with. He has the strongest claim to it.
Yes of course...and it appears he has done the same now. That's general what happens with a plea bargain deal.
I feel for him no doubt but Unfortunately deals are too easily available that noone goes to jail for drug offenses these days..it seems to me.
The agenda with you is alive and strong. How about this since ya'll like mentioning Salido...who quit vs Salido? Oh that's right. No disrespect to Mikey but it's fact. Also Lomachenko fighting smaller dudes...c'mon. Rigo talked his way into that fight and got his @ss handed to him for it, Loma has refused to take credit for the fight or even talk about it much. Mikey is a great fighter but you don't have to shhh all over another fighter to make him sparkle, that's some b*t*h s**t. Folks like to act like there can only be one great figher in the sport or some ish..both men are great fighters.
Great post dude
If Wilder and Fury wouldn't fight AJ next who will AJ fight? Wilder and Fury which of them have a better fight resume than AJ? Stop arguing blindlyFury over Klitchsko is easily rated higher than Aj over Klitchsko. You have to look at Klitchskos standing in those respective bouts. Klitchsko was the #1 HW when Fury beat him. Klitchsko wasn't the #1 HW when AJ beat him. In Fury's absence the debate was who is the #1 HW out of Aj and Wilder. The FuryWilder outcome was Fury reasserting himself in the division.
It's because they are not confident that they could evade Deontay Wilder's punching power for a full twelve rounds again without getting knocked out. The last knocked down really gave them a scare. Wilder was able to do what Wladimir couldn't do and that was to close the distance and nail Fury by dropping him to the canvas with the right hand.
You're in denial. Its ok. I'm hoping for an immediate recovery while you're getting over this. Its common. Next is acceptance.
