Former two division world champion Amir Khan is picking both Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury to defeat division rival Anthony Joshua.
Joshua, who holds the WBO, IBO, WBA, IBF world titles, is scheduled to defend his belts on April 13th at Wembley Stadium in London. The upcoming opponent is unknown.
Wilder, who has the WBC world title, fought Fury to a controversial twelve round split draw last month at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Wilder and Fury are now likely heading to a rematch in the upcoming months.
Joshua's opponent is potentially going to end up being Jarrell Miller or Dillian Whyte.
Sizing up all three fighters in the weight class, Khan sees Wilder as being the tougher contest for Joshua. He believes either fighter would hand Joshua his first career defeat, but Wilder would be tougher contest due to their styles. He says Wilder's style matches up very well to catch Joshua clean with hard shots.
Speaking exclusively to Express Sport about Joshua’s main heavyweight rivals, Khan said: “I think Wilder is [a tougher fight]. Wilder’s got a good chin, he throws a lot of hard punches.
“He is very dangerous. I think both fighters are very dangerous and both of them would beat Joshua. But I just feel that what would be a harder fight for him would be the Wilder fight.
“[Wilder is] more dangerous. Styles make fights, and his style suits Wilder more. Joshua doesn’t move his head. Whereas if you look at Fury – he was going under his shots and moving. Could you see Joshua moving like that? No.”
Khan will be returning to the ring on April 20th, when he challenges Terence Crawford for the WBO welterweight title. The contest will be officially announced on Tuesday in London.
