ANTHONY JOSHUA will not fight next in the United Kingdom because the fans will not be given what they truly want. That is the verdict of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who manages Anthony Joshua. AJ has not fought since his victory over Alexander Povetkin in September at Wembley. Click Here To Read More]
I could care less what you’re not intersted in...younoosted a silly statement and yes he was scared shyteless to face wilder in the USA. But wants to face miller in the USA. It’s a pansy move.....the money isnin the USA and the reason he didn’t want to face wilder in the USA is because he is scared he will lose and wants the advantage rage of pro-british Hearn picked judge’s and referees like he had against Parker. To hell with this “a side b side” drama queen bs....stop talking about other men’s money like they will break tou off some son!
This is the second time AJ fought Miller. The first time they fought they did it in the UK. This is the rematch in America
A star in his own right
Joshua is a big star in uk he has sold football stadiums and that’s not necessarily a common occurrence. It’s a fantastic achievement and with that success perhaps a avoid risks strategy has started to creep in particularly if he can generate huge sums fighting tomato cans. The UK sports platform is dominated by Sky Sports PPV and now BT sports PPV are coming strong.
Travelling to US Joshua has a guaranteed purse propped up by DAZN and there’s considerable debate around their US subscribers. DAZN platform is a new streaming service offering which is based on a month fee for subscribers. There has been talk that Joshua’s last fight was watched by around 16k subscribers in US.
DAZN is not currently in the league of the big tv networks in US. As such this service probably can not offer the level of exposure Joshua needs in the mainstream market to garner interest from a wide spectrum of fans.
Wilder vs Fury II has that added benefit of access to a much larger US based audience through the mainstream networks.
It’s going to be very interesting watching the big three heavyweights going head to head in the US for publicity and exposure. Don’t be surprised if the biggest heavyweight name from the UK in US is Tyson Fury
He is anything but casual with the media over here. One of the hardest working fighters ive seen outside of boxing. Always giving interviews, on chat shows, doing photoshoots etc
If he applies the same ethic and focus here, there is no reason he can't be a huge star. Look the women in the US are probably more thirsty than the British birds lol. If he plays it right, he'll become a huge sex symbol and well on his way to superstar status.
I certainly hope so. I just hope people actually see him. He needs to hit the media circuit hard. He can't just sit back and be casual about it like in the UK where everybody knows who he is and has known who he is since 2012.
Here in the US, only boxing fans know who he is. To crossover, he needs to hit Late Night, ESPN, even morning shows etc.

It’s good news Joshua is travelling it’s a shame it’s after the prevailing wind changed direction. Miller is not bad not sure he is up to the challenge don’t think he is in Joshua’s league to cause him any serious trouble although I would expect anybody who fights for a title getting in the best shape possible so we should see the best Miller. It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion and I have no interesting in that fight, For me the heavyweight fights to watch will be Dillian Whytes outing vs Ortiz/Breazeale, and of course the big one wilder vs fury II that should be a real barnstormer both have the bit between the teeth and it’s gonna be epic.
Americans force people to prove their greatness prior to accepting it. That's why Ali was ridiculed when he called himself The Greatest until near his retirement.
Very few boxers where accepted prior to their career having made case plainly evident for any to see and when they do they tend to be on the more forgotten side of history. Floyd Patterson isn't exactly dominating most fans ATG lists today, but, Floyd Patterson put asses in seats and was really well loved and respected during his time.
So for the few that America did latch onto early; it's hard to remember we did it when most don't bring up those champions in casual conversation.
America is probably the hardest fanbase to excite outside of China because America's favorite pastime is complaining.
China has a special problem because culturally speaking they put more emphasis on show than sport. Often contestants don't give it their all but rather work together to put on the best display they can. Not WWE style, they're still trying win, just less cut throat than westerns are used to. That said, I don't think Chinese like to see our version of sportsmanship which makes them pretty hard to crack into.
Lol...Complaining is what they specialize in...One hit wonders can many times be booed to no end when they attempt to introduce that 2nd hit...You gotta have some tough skin over here.
Nonsense. For some reason people really want to think that but it couldn't be further from the truth. Some of the most popular in both boxing and MMA have been from outside the US.
Pacquiao
Canelo
GG
Kovalev
Anderson Silva
Fedor
Jose Aldo
McGreggor
That's just making a few that are still currently active. I could go on forever.
Lenox Lewis did fine in the states. AJ has every opportunity.
We dig ALL nationalities! Every nationality actually has a home here....one only needs to inquire their whereabouts and fit right in!...that’s a big part of what makes America America! Of course “Americans” who were born here - who loves the culture and identify with the “hard work” ethic - will be preferred.... A drama ridden life or a rags to riches humble story can only help with the appeal... Over here, the Joshua “commercialized” crap can backfire fast, because we crave the “real” ...”authenticity,” ..“brave” and “risk taking” champs...Joshua comes across like a pampered protected PED filled - past fake wannabe thug....Hopkins “was” a real “thug” and it showed in his opponent selection AND style of fighting!! Kidnapping four belts then having your handlers make DUMB transparent excuses for you - because they’re convinced you’re not ready for the fifth opponent is tantamount to a wussified “champ” protected!...”Champs” aren’t allowed to coast when they’ve earned FOUR belts then “DUCK” their 1st real test! And it’s especially bad when you look like Mr. Olympia and the guy you’re supposed to fight looks like a twig (compared to you)..lol!
The downside is Americans just dont like foreigners

Im sure he has a mild chance at becoming a success and star in America. The downside is Americans just dont like foreigners but at the same time Americans also dont like Deontay Wilder because they have been complaining about him for years its all over Youtube and its all about the same thing, they gave up on him cuz Finkel wouldnt improve his resume fight after fight after fight after fight. I think even over nationalistic Americans may be happy to see a real champion knock out their fraud belt thief because he embarrasses them. Especially when he comes out to fight dressed like a big black chicken with feathers everywhere. Or when he speaks.
Tyson Fury has a better chance .I was over for the Lomo fight at msg 8th dec. and the Americans were really impressed with him

Wouldn't be the first time oddsmakers got it wrong. I'm just saying ...
Of course look at Buster Douglas! but the reason there's so much major prime time advertising money spent by them is because they usually get it right and they have Miller as a no hope case.............They have Joshua unbetable at around 1/8 on.
Maybe not massive since US fans are not very supportive of their current fighters but he will probably be bigger and more popular than all current US American fighters.
AJ will be more popular than all of the PBC chumps for sure.
Sorry Americans are smarter than that. It's not like the UK where deluded drunk fanboys hype anything that owns a pair of boxing gloves.
E.g. Even F grade bums like Davis price have a loyal following in the UK.
To all the 'fans' who rate this as a competitive affair , it shouldn't be... and that's why it's happening ....1/8 Joshua ...behave !

This fool said AJ profile was the same as Wilder's and Fury's before their fight, can he be anymore full of ****. Wilder had fans outside of boxing due to his fiance being on a reality show. He has been on multiple sports programs before that and he is AMERICAN. I don't know why the **** Hearn thinks AJ is so special and will blow up here. Most Americans can't point David Beckham out of a line up and this fool think AJ will impress us? Keep it pushing Hearn, this fight is gonna be a disaster
Baby oil? I don't know man, I had you on top of the list to hang out with if you ever decided to visit NY.....Baby oil!? I might not be able to turn my back on you! Noel, say it aint so.....I'm gonna give you a chance to redeem yourself..lol...:boxing:
You are right bro I don’t know what I was thinking about. Wilderlites are freaks I can’t be mentioning baby oil or they all might turn up at my office with a bottle.Ok how about voodoo productions incorporated or till this day records In tribute to Deontay obviously.
