It is 315. 2 100 pound plates, 4 25 plates, and the bar, normally 45 pounds looks like it could be a 15 pound bar but if you're reppin 315 you should really use a bigger bar. Thats a lot to take off and get back up, decent lift.
He is looking good, even though Marquez is old, I think everyone wants to see this fight, especially if Floyd and Manny get in there next (doubt it lol)
Answer: Toss up
It is difficult to compare the two. I think both are great, but Marvin had quite a consistent run with the middleweight title.
I wouldn't hate if someone disagreed, Manny indeed may be "better" than hagler, its a matter of opinion about eras too. Most would agree better competition in the 80's, but better atheletes now perhaps.
I feel canelo on the artificial deadline. But thats the WBC strap, lots of fighters would die for it, including Mayweather of old, thats his favorite belt. I'm pretty shocked he would vacate this fast, I mean If GGG's team was coming to GBP with weak business terms, thats one thing. I'd like to know the offer before and after the vacate. Either way I'm not too proud of Canelo, if GGG is giving bad terms for the fight ODLH should make that public because Canel looking like a real beezy right now. Understandable because GGG is a beast.
I really thought the fight would happen. I don't like Canelo but I never thought he would do this.
Black eye for boxing IMO.
Why don't you like Canelo? Great fighter been doing it since he was a teen professionally.
I was pretty happy to watch the fight. I had the opportunity to check out Ward-Kessler last year in Oakland to see SOG live. If you like technical boxing, you'd enjoy this fight. Ward really shows his ametuer experience by staying tight, shooting short quick punches, and minimizing his opportunity to get hit.
What was so impressive in this fight was that Ward took the fight to Green, which was very unexpected. He beat him up on the inside when Ward is really known for being a boxer that moves around. But like he said before the Kessler fight, he is making that transition from boxer to fighter.
Bottom line, I thought the fight was great, if you have followed Ward's career, you'd realize he has come a long way. Its no surprise that a man like Froch with very little technical ability could not appreciate Ward-Green. He has a point about action, but I felt that this fight was truly one a boxing fan would appreciate.
Agreed. Floyd will find Manny all day but he's not stopping him.
I also don't see Manny stopping Floyd. Not that Manny cant or doesnt have a better chance of putting Floyd away than floyd does against Manny - but Floyd's not going to get careless like cotto in his second kd to Manny.
The point is we wont know until they get in the ring. I think Manny has the power to knock out just about anyone at 147, and Floyd was wobbled in the Mosley fight. I just think if it goes past 5 without Mayweather significantly hurt, he'll adjust to Manny and beat him down.
It was a good post but I think Pac has Floyd in the speed department. For me its Pacquiao's speed and power vs. Mayweather's timing and adjustment. I think Pac can stop Floyd before 5, we saw Floyd get wobbled during the Mosley fight, though he did come back very very well.
At the end of the day its a toss up, we won't know who will win the fight because they won't seemingly fight.
Roger Mayweather, trainer and Uncle to boxing prodigy Floyd Mayweather Junior, is one of the most accessible and out spoken members of Team Mayweather.
When Floyd announced on video this week that he plans to take a one or two year hiatus from the sport and concentrate on his foundation and gym, it was predictable that neither he nor the CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe were available for public comment.
Of course, loose gun, Roger is more than happy to address the issue and the fans on The Boxing Truth Radio this Sunday night at 6 PM Pacific Standard Time (9 PM Eastern Standard Time).

Please post what he says back on BoxingScene, I'll be watching the NBA Finals but would still like to know whats going on.
I have much respect for Dwyer, but come one dude, he didn't even mention Pac's conditioning vs. Mosley's. He needs to re-watch that Mayweather-Mosley, dude was gassed out early and Mayweather is no where near the active puncher Pac is. I'll give Mosley a puncher's chance of course but most of the time that does not win you the fight. Mosley does not have the conditioning to beat Pac.. end of story. Andre Berto should be in there fighting, thats what the fans want to see.
He may not have the top-top experience or the money draw but he has been tested. Also Clottey was not a draw either, and everyone knows Mosley is not a PPV draw despite people knowing him. So he could have put Berto on, he took the safe fight which sucks ass.. I will not buy this PPV just like I didn't on the Clottey fight. I thought the Margarito fight was acceptable given the history and Margo's size, but this is a clear mis-match.
If anyone is interested, there was an allegation from Riddick Bowe about Golota using steriods in their first fight, and Bowe wanted Golota tested before he would fight him again:
http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1996-10-18/sports/1996292101_1_steroids-golota-lathan
Its interesting because in the article..
Larry Hazzard, chairman of the New Jersey Athletic Commission, said, "If both camps -- Bowe and Golota -- mutually agree to being tested for steroids, we would oblige them.
"Currently, we do not require steroid testing, but there is latitude in our rules and regulations to ensure the integrity of an event."
Thats what I thought at first, but when they showed the replay, Urango really was hurt and got hit on the temple the second time. It was the Refs decision, I think it was a good stoppage. Damn, I didn't think Alexander had it like that, he gained a fan tonight.
I thought mosley could also excercise the rematch clause since he is the champion..
Its not traditional that every Champion automatically gets a rematch if they loose.. its really about barganing power and the foresight for a Champion to put a clause in the contract before the fight is made.. usually a contender agrees to the stipulation because otherwise he will not get a shot at the title; like Dawson-Tarver. However here, Mayweather's Team was able to force the Champion Mosely to sign off on a contract where if Mayweather looses he will get a rematch but not vice versa.
I suppose Mosley was so willing to fight Mayweather he didn't care about it. Plus, if he beats Mayweather, of course he will take a rematch and get another huge payday and the opportunity to beat PBF twice. Its really a win-win situation built on the assumption that it wouldn't make sense for PBF to rematch Mosely if he won. However if he does win and its a close and exciting fight, I see a rematch happening anyway especially if the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight cannot be made.
good stuff, he paints a beautiful picture and is typically right. Lets see what Shane brings come fight night, he may be able to unveil that special technique that troubles Floyd.
Floyd is in tip top.. There is not a big difference but Floyd is going to be moving around and circling all night against Shane, I think floyd stopping Mosley late is not that unreasonable of an idea, nor is Shane stopping Floyd.. it'll be a good fight tomorrow.
We may all hit the bag alike, we may shadow box alike, hit the mitts alike, we may all jump rope alike, but we don't all perform the same under pressure.
these pac fans just are creating thread after thread talking about the same **** relating to OST and when they dont get the answers they want, fellow pactards create more threads of the same.... omg they stopped 18 days before, it wasnt random, floyd is a mastermind and runs usada, tygart is a bum and doesnt know what he is doing, its all a sham etc.
WHY ARE PAC FANS TRYING SO HARD TO SHOW THAT EXTRA TESTING IS NOT GOOD WHEN THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE. FACE IT THAT WHAT FLOYD SUGGESTED CAN ONLY HELP BOXING. And for the last f'in time they can stop 2 month before but as long as you know they might come anytime, no sane athlete would even try to cheat and ruin their whole careers and whatever legacy they have compiled? understand? in case you dont here is a simpler example... why do people generally follow the speed limit on roads when most of the time there is no police around? because there is a chance they may and no one wants to get caught breaking the law. same thing with the random testing. Now stop creating 500 threads about the same thing!
Thats a pretty good breakdown of I how I see it.
