"Rematch clause" for Mayweather-Mosley fight

wasnt it already posted and confirmed there was no rematch clause in the contract.. do a search on the forums..it was posted in NSB.... floyds reaction time, accurate fast punches, ring iq, defense, movement will be too much for mosley. its gonna be a hard fight because shane is stronger yes, but if floyd can beat de la hoya at 154, then shane at 147 won't be much harder.

floyd knows he will lose the fight to shane, but he just wants to milk as much money as he can before he ducks into retirement again.

Dont be suprised if Mosley Makes it look easy, You never know.... in boxing, stranger things have happened, and somebody out there may have floyd's number. Remember when the younger Tarver was supposed to Demolish BErnard Hopkins, and Bernard made it look easy. ALthough I know this is a totally different fight, my gut tells me Mosley pulls out a UD, with one knockdown somewhere in the middle rounds.

Also considering what just happened to RJ and Vivian Harris, rematch clause is smart. Floyd says no need to have a rematch if u get it right the 1st time, I agree with that assuming its a fair call. So with FMJ statement, doesn't it seem strange that the re-match clause came from his camp?

Floyd seemed hesitant from the begining!!I believe Floyd never wanted any part of Sugar Shane,I think he finally figured out that he couldn't keep fighting cabdrivers & avoiding the best!!Sucker probably thought that Shane wouldn't agree to the rematch clause for him alone,but Mosley said sure,lets do it!!That's why Floyd didn't wanna sign the contract,lol!!

If you ask me, a rematch is smart considering Pac ducking both guys is already a proven fact.

That's bullsh**. Smart on Mayweather's behalf, but absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully if Shane wins he does it in a fashion where there's no doubt and Mayweather doesn't want a rematch. If he lost convincingly it's likely that he would take time off. The rematch clause is the scenario that the fight is stopped prematurely, split decision or a controversial decision.

fuk that little coconut picking manny pacqeio, there was never so many sillipinos watching boxing. once he is gone they are gone 1. you make it seem like the sport getting more fans and exposure is a bad thing 2. there was a filipino world champion before the 1st black heavyweight champion. quit frontin like filipinos aint entitled to be fans of the sport

I thought mosley could also excercise the rematch clause since he is the champion.. Its not traditional that every Champion automatically gets a rematch if they loose.. its really about barganing power and the foresight for a Champion to put a clause in the contract before the fight is made.. usually a contender agrees to the stipulation because otherwise he will not get a shot at the title; like Dawson-Tarver. However here, Mayweather's Team was able to force the Champion Mosely to sign off on a contract where if Mayweather looses he will get a rematch but not vice versa. I suppose Mosley was so willing to fight Mayweather he didn't care about it. Plus, if he beats Mayweather, of course he will take a rematch and get another huge payday and the opportunity to beat PBF twice. Its really a win-win situation built on the assumption that it wouldn't make sense for PBF to rematch Mosely if he won. However if he does win and its a close and exciting fight, I see a rematch happening anyway especially if the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight cannot be made.

The rematch clause has to be based on money, as in Mosley must pay PBF a step aside fee to fight someone else if he wins. Because if the clause is simply centered around the WBA belt, Shane could just forfeit it to go after a different opponent. And given that Shane's the one with the belt, PBF couldn't be the one calling the shots on a clause like that anyway. I'm curious about the stipulations of it myself. If they've been posted already I missed it.
