Even though he hasn't fought there since the Mayweather fight :lol1:
What's the move? Cotto 2? Lara which was very controversial and his fans claim is his best win :lol1:
I can see him staying at '155' for a while now. A Cotto rematch wouldn't surprise me.
I think he will fight blown up WW's, and boiled down MW's. Before starting his assault at 156.
Assault at 156! Haha man the thing is that is how it would probably be sold to us by GBP...Watch out, he's moving up.
But nah seriously, Canelo has made himself a little more irrelevant. He can sit at 155 and claim to be the lineal king as long and as much as he wants, he will only be able to fight people blown up or 'catchweighted' MW's...Each and every time he does that would dilute his claim to the lineal 160 throne. He doesn't have a belt and the only claim to championship is his lineal stake, which again, looks more and more diluted the more he emphasises 155. He will one day become forced to surrender his hostage situation and go to 154, or face up to the reality of his claims and actually fight people at 160. He has watered down his image so much and every time he weighs in at 155 while claiming to be the 160 champ will get older and older, as if it wasn't old enough.
I don't see anyone he can fight that could really be a huge PPv besides cotto, or somehow lands manny...
Most of the best 154 guys are with PBC and none are really big names..
Canelo will probably try and lamd a Cotto rematch, but cotto may decline and take a marquez fight, which then means Canelo really doesn't have anyone that can be a big fight, and GBP will try and lure a "name" like Maidana to help make a big PPV event
Here you go with your woulda/shoulda/coulda. I'm living in reality. Floyd and Manny were never mado's. GGG and Canelo were. If Canelo is this big star like you claim, why wouldn't the WBC look out for him? You're saying he can sell PPV's with just about anybody like Floyd and Manny. And you're saying the WBC is all about making the most money. So why didn't they look out for Canelo since he's the big star that's going to bring them all this money? And you still didn't answer the other question. Besides GGG, what fight does the public want to see Canelo take and are willing to shell out money for the PPV?
So you don't think Floyd and Manny were the clear number 1 and 2 fighters in their weight let alone the world? and it's just an accident that after they both made it clear they weren't fighting each other for multiple reasons that mysteriously these belt organizations kept deciding that there were better fighters then each other that needed to be mandated for five years? It's not no what if WBC and the rest of them looked out for themselves and didn't want to upset either guy by mandating a fight that wasn't going to be made until these fighters made it. If either belt org put their foot down and mandated the fight then with the quickness Floyd would of dumped the belt in the trash like Canelo. The fact that they broke rules to allow Floyd to fight whoever he wanted doesn't change anything.
If we tried to figure out the logic with the WBC and others and why they break these rules in one instance and not in another we would be here all day. The point is they are corrupt and hypocrites. And Canelo vs GGG is a big fight with or without the WBC belt. And none of these belts are big enough to tell Canelo what to do or help GGG out in the negotiations table. They weren't big enough to tell Cotto what to do who also trashed this belt. And if they tried with Floyd he would of trashed it.
But ginger is doing because he knows he will get fvckup by ggg, is fear more than business...
That's what idiots said about Cotto last year when he was being "difficult" in negotiations. And what everyone said for 5 years and then some about Floyd. I don't think any of these fighters is afraid of another man. It's all about business.
That's semantics and you F ing know it. The only reason they were never officially mandated by these phony belt organizations is because they are corrupt and knew that the fight wasn't happening unless the fighters and their promoters made it happen. If they put a deadline and tried to enforce at any point during the last 5 years what happens? You know damn well either Floyd or Manny would of done what Canelo did and vacated the belt and kept fighting whoever they wanted on PPV. Manny and Floyd were the 2 best fighters in the same damn division for over 5 years straight and these belt organizations broke their own rules, found exceptions or flat out created new belts that allowed both to continue fighting whoever they wanted rather then each other. Laughing at you thinking that all we needed was the WBC to make Manny a "mandatory" and threaten to strip Floyd and we could of had them fight 4 years ago. SMH
And the public wanted to see Floyd fight Guerrero? Or Manny to fight Rios or Algieri? Stop it!But ginger is doing it because he knows he will get fvckup by ggg, is fear more than business...
Floyd and Manny were never mandatories tho!!!! These are two completely different situations. You can't compare the two. I'm more of a Floyd fan than a Manny fan but I like Manny too. Never did I once think Manny was afraid of Floyd or Floyd was afraid of Manny. Both sides played a role in the fight not happening because I think both Arum & Floyd knew that a loss in 2010 would severely hurt either's future earning potential. Even while they didn't fight each other they still had successful PPV's because they fought people who the public wanted to see them fight. Besides GGG, who does the public want to see Canelo fight?

Khan was accepted because Canelo's & GGG blind fans still held out hope for a GGG fight. All we kept hearing was 'We allowed this fight to happen because Canelo agreed to fight GGG next' So Loeffler was providing cover for Canelo. So that kept GGG fans off of Canelo and everybody swallowed the Khan fight, got the result they knew was coming, and it was out of the way so on to GGG. It was a necessary evil. Then after the fight Canelo talked tough like he really wanted it. Even said he'd fight him at 160. People still had hope. Remember before the Cotto fight how everyone was rooting for Canelo because he's a real Mexican warrior and would fight GGG? I remember. Hope is the only thing that kept people from going in on Canelo. But now that that hope is gone he's getting hammered. You gotta remember, there's always been skepticism in Mexico about Canelo. Look at the way the greats (JCC Jr, JMM) talked about him. They couldn't just come out and say it because he had done nothing to prove their suspicions were correct. Well yesterday he proved them right. Canelo biggest PPV fanbase is Mexican-Americans. There is no PPV for his fights in Mexico. He's pissed off the Mexican-Americans and they're calling him a coward and saying he's ducking. These are the same fans who will take a bullet for Margarito, Morales, Barrera, Chavez Sr. That's the gold standard and Canelo isn't living up to it. In what universe is it a good business move to drop a belt to avoid facing your toughest challenge?
Floyd and Manny went 5 years using the I might fight him next card to promote whatever PPV they had at that time. You think the lure or possibility of Canelo fighting GGG next won't be used regardless who he fights next? Nobody got hammered for 5 years straight like Floyd did. Laughing at you thinking this will stop Canelo from getting paid and making big fights until GGG gets it through his head that he needs to agree to Canelo's demands if he wants that fight. It didn't stop Floyd and it didn't stop Manny. And it didn't hurt either guys business one bit.
he has his calves taped up in the khan fight, thats a sign he spent his legs making the weight
i bet you his next fight is at 157 vs ggg, stevens or lemiux
Dude basketball players where these tapes and wraps on their calves now all the time too and it has nothing to do with cutting weight. It's just the new fashion/trend that these trainers tell athletes will help their performance.
Nah he makes 155 very EASY. Go watch his weigh in for the Khan and Cotto fight. And look at his 30 day weight for Khan. Can't tell me if he had to he couldn't drain that last pound. He vacated because GGG tired to use that belt to dictate terms at the negotiation table. So he threw it in the trash and now GGG has literally no leverage either you agree to the bigger star's demands or keep fighting bums for peanuts on HBO. But if you want the big boy PPV money then do what Floyd, Cotto, Canelo and many other star fighters did and that's move up or down to get the big fights. He said he would do it remember I'll go to 154 or 168 to get the big fights. 155 is 1 pound less should be no problem.

calm down everybody
he vacated because not ggg's arrogant ,delusional and stubborn team dont have leverage in the negotiations regarding the purse, date and weight anymore
he'll fight him
if he doesnt its because gggs team were unreasonable in the negotiations, and he will just fight lemiux or stevens, good action packed fight
ggg can go fight sam soliman as part of his bum of the month campaign, the last guy he fought got dropped after getting punched on the arm :lol1:
....and canelo is finding it harder and harder to make 155 never mind 154

For those paying attention, ODLH was talking about Khan in December. And we were saying it's a sh1tty fight. When Oscar said that I knew he had no intention of Canelo fighting GGG next. So who's next? Give me some legitimate names. If you look at Canelo's history he has a certain pattern he follows. Bring a smaller fighter up. or Fight a fighter coming off a long layoff.
I don't care how you try and spin it now. Nobody thought Khan was a legit contender to fight Canelo for many reason, that fight being made almost killed twitter because people didn't see it coming. And I'll say it again Canelo can literally fight anyone and it will be on PPV and one of the biggest fights of the year. He can fight any of the top fighters at 154, he can get one of the top guys at 160 to move down or he can also get any of the top fighters at 147 to move up. He has the pick of the litter from 3 different weight classes he's the cash cow in the sport. And like you saw with Khan a Haymon fighter he can get any top fighter to jump political lines to fight him because he can offer more money to fight him then anyone can make fighting someone else.
You sound like the idiots for months who said Canelo is screwed he can't get a big name fight for May he will have to fight Rosado because he has no options. LMAO Same people who said Floyd had no options for 5 years. When you the big fish you always have options because they come to you. Canelo can fight Cotto, Manny, Saunders, Bradley, Jacobs, Brook, the winner of Thurman/Porter, Charlo, Andrade. Hell what if Floyd comes back he could fight Canelo makes more money doing that then any fight other then rematch with Manny.

What's the move? Cotto 2? Lara which was very controversial and his fans claim is his best win :lol1:
All of ginge pubes best wins are controversial lol, the way Lara made such easy work of Trout said it all.
Trout would need to KO Canelo, go in with massive combos only way he wins it.
The fact the judges didn't score the first 4 for Khan said it all.
No Thank You! Everybody at 154 starting to fight each other starting this weekend, I would like to see that continue to happen going forward, I don't want to see Canelo come down and ruin everything and not fight any of them.
I don't think he is coming down, he will stay at 155 and make Welterweights come up to 155 or they will stay in house and make Lemieux come down to 155 as well as Tuerano Johnson. GBP took a HUGE step back with Canelo dropping his Belt. Oscar will learn the hard way that Boxing fans are not that stupid I do think even the Mexican Fans will start to call Oscar on his Bull****
I really hope Canelo will at least step up and fight someone his size. Not another welterweight, and not another old smaller fighter like Cotto.
I don't even think he wants to move to 154. He can barely make 155, now that the belt is gone he will probably try to fight at 155 again or slowly make the move to 160. I absolutely have no clue who he could be fighting next. If he fights Cotto again that would be the biggest disgrace to the sport and to the fans.
Canelo is big enough where he can literally fight anyone regardless of their network/promoter affiliation. Don't believe me? he just fought Khan who is one of Haymon's bigger name fighters despite the fact that Khan has fought exclusively on Showtime and PBC for the last 5 years. And Golden Boy is currently suing Haymon for hundred millions. Yet Khan crossed over to HBO to fight Canelo a golden boy fighter for a career high payday. Canelo can fight any fighter he wants because you make more money fighting him then anyone else.
So sad, but so true. Money fking ruins EVERYTHING! So glad Im broke.
Canelo got rid of the one thing that was forcing him to fight golovkin. He will absolutely not fight him any time soon. I honestly expect him to fight someone like Bradley next or even margarito. Cotto 2 is a strong possibility. He's the biggest joke in boxing in the last 20 years.
