I'm hoping Sergio Wartinez puts down Kneeguel. I like both fighters and its rare to see Martinez this confrontational. Only time he was this confrontation was against Chavez Jr and he took him to school. Hope its a great fight, can't wait.
I didn't score it either but I thought Porter got it by a hair. I watched it with my father who said Porter in a close one or a draw. I agree with that. The 115-113 scores were good, 116-112 was too wide, even though its a one round difference, Garcia won enough early rounds to make it close.
Humiliating? I'd say Garcia was controlling the 1st 3 rounds but they werent dominant. I think the 2nd or 3rd round was a close one IIRC. I think Porter started being more aggressive and coming forward after those rounds and thats what changed the fight.
Good win by Porter, he was a slight underdog and fought a good fight. I think Porter is good enough to compete with Thurman, Crawford and Spence but not enough to beat. I think a Spence fight would be fireworks for however it lasts, and I think a Crawford fight can have moments but I see Crawford taking over after a few rounds and cruising.
I think a lot of it has to do with the culture of the country. It seems like most India athletes do Cricket as thats where the money is at for them. The same thing can be said of China, such a huge population but the amount of world class fighters from there is small compared to much smaller countries.
ESPN can do a Lomachenko double header. He can fight Haney on the undercard of his own main event. Main event would be Tank.
He embarrasses both on the same night.
I think if anyone can do it it may be Lomo. lol. Lomo spanks Tank. I think the only type of fighter than can possibly beat Lomo is a Marcos Maidana type of rough rugged, iron chinned with power fighter with some awkwardness. Not sure if there are any of those near Lomos division.
Imagine if Canelo hits Spence with the punch that knocked Khan out, it may not knock him out cold, but it will be damn well gonna wobble him to eternity.
I agree. Canelo would put Spence on queer street with that punch.
It will be a cold day in he ll before GB makes that fight. Its really a lose-lose deal for him.If he losses then he just got beat by a welter and if he wins he just beat a welter who people will say was never that good to begin with.
Canelo fought Amir Khan at 155, who is a fighter not known for an iron chin. lol. If Canelo and GB were willing to match him with Khan, I don't see why they wouldn't with Spence. If anything, stylistically, Spence is more suited for Canelo than Khan. Khan's lateral movement and hand speed gave Canelo some problems in the first few rounds. Spence style is a straight attack to the body which gives Canelo plenty of counter opportunities.
Interesting comparison. Question. Why compare a WW and a MW who have no connection to each other whatsoever? Spence is fortunate to be in a division that has been red hot for several years including now, while MW has just started to get interesting within the past year or so. There's more quality wins to be had as a WW than a MW.
Anyway I like the pace Spence is going and I hope to see more of him soon and hope he becomes big.
AJ was knocked down and hurt against Wlad and came back to score KD's and the KO, while Wilder also was hurt by Ortiz and scored KD's and the KO. To Wilders credit he never went down like AJ did.
Both fighters showed their vulnerabilities and strengths in these fights.

The Democrats created the KKK, held slaves and were opposed to Civil Rights. Who did you vote for this past election?
America in general was racist. Don't act like you dont know the Democratic and Republican parties switched on the political paradigm due to civil rights in the 60's. A question you should ask yourself is, who was the conservative party and progressive party during slavery, and the reconstruction era/creation of the KKK?

Anyway this is a boxing forum not a political debate.
I'd like to see Crawford take on Danny Garcia. A fight between them two at 140 would've been dope.
I'd also like to see how Crawford handles a rough rugged style like Shawn Porter.
Another name that would be interesting would be a fight with Jessie Vargas before he eyes one of the top tier guys like Pac,Thurman,Spence, etc.
He will have to deside what is more important..MONEY.........or INTEGRITY
If anyone had integrity then this fight wouldn't happen. You can throw the whole integrity thing out the window.
Two overrated has-beens I can't believe all the people that said Mathysse would beat Danny Garcia and all the people that said Broner would beat Mikey Garcia
With that being said, is it not a good match up still? Sometimes as boxing fans we get too caught up in asking if a fight is important or relevant. Can't we just sit back and enjoy a good match up regardless of whats at stake and who the names are?
His chin, awkwardness, stamina, hand speed, solid power and relentless work rate made up for his defensive holes.
"He was also a strong puncher and defensively his bob and weave style kept him from receiving the full impact of his opponent’s blows. The truth of Henry Armstrong is that he had much better boxing skills than some give him credit for." ... "They called Armstrong’s most chilling punch “blackout” – a peculiar looping right which was neither hook nor jab nor swing but a high flickering fast blow to the chin. “It moved about 10 inches,” Henry said, “a terrible thing to do to anybody. Most of them never saw it coming.”

With all of these attributes, he would be a tough night for anyone 140 and under and would hold his own against top 147ers. He was truly a unique fighter. After his death it was noted his heart was about a third larger than a normal one, which probably attributed to his stamina.
Gotta love his grit and no quit attitude. He was able to cut the ring off and do work. Props for Lara for hanging in tough. He was still fighting til the end. He deserves a rematch but I think at his age and the style he has he should look elsewhere for now.
Honestly almost impossible to compare a career like Lomas, atleast the start of it, because nothing like it has ever happened in boxing. Maybe a better comparison would be comparing their careers starting from their first title fight and everything after.
He's a black latino. There's also white latinos, metizos and those with full indigenous heritage. Culturally he might feel more connected to his latino side but hes definitely both.
If Bob Arum created a Top Rank belt and only his fighters were allowed to fight for the belt would you consider it a world title? Of course not. But that's what Dana. White does and you consider that a world title?
He does. It's called the WBO belt player.
I created in slight jest- I'm a bit astonished at the responses. I think people started arguing about their version of what beautiful is.
Yeah standards of beauty differs among age groups, race, cultures, etc. Some see thicker women as attractive, probably has to do with fertility and intelligence and others might prefer petite. To each their own.
I thought it was a close fight that technically Ward could have won if he won every single close round, 114-113, which honestly speaking is not likely. I personally thought Kovalev won it close. Kovalev deserved the decision more than Ward, but oh well it was close and we can name all the people who thought Kov won but unfortunately none of them are Burt Clemens, Glenn Trowbridge, and John McKaie.
So.. does that change the fact he's rican?
The thread is titled " So Puerto Rico has no more world champions?" And technically speaking they don't. He's a stateside puerto rican.
