Who exactly doesn't want Broner vs Matthysse?

It's a good fight. Not every fight has to be between elites in order to be entertaining. I think certain boxing fans forget that. Look at Ward/Gatti. If they were going to fight today, the casuals would be calling it a bum-fight instead of appreciating two evenly-matched opponents in a competitive fight. Broner/Matthysse is a good, competitive fight that should be very entertaining. They are evenly matched as far as I can tell.

So this fight has no chance of happening? You have to wonder where these made up rumors are coming from.

That's what I'm getting from the responses in this thread. I rooted for Broner in the Mickey fight, even made a thread about it. Seem clear it's an acknowledgement that Matthysse is still a live dog and not the hypejob they claim he is. If Mickey at least dropped Broner, then their worries could be justified. That's the mind-boggling part. They keep chanting this mantra about Matthysse being a hypejob, yet they seem to be protecting Broner from the hypejob. Kids say the darnedest things, but can't stand by what they say.

Two overrated has-beens I can't believe all the people that said Mathysse would beat Danny Garcia and all the people that said Broner would beat Mikey Garcia Exactly. Hypejob vs Hypejob. Better than effing Lara vs Gausha, Porter vs Granados, LSC vs what'shisname? Don't know why Haymon is wasting time and money on garbage fights.

Not a Broner or Mathysse fan whatsoever. Mathysse had a chance to take back then when Broner called him out but ended up leaving to sign with GB and said nothing. It would be a good fight but you forget the Haymon/ GB thing. They've only done business for 2 PPV fights. Matthysse left Haymon very frustrated. It's clear he's not getting the fights he wanted. Waited for a year to get the Swift rematch. Matthysse thought he would get Broner as a consolation. Nothing. It didn't happen when it's supposed to happen. Both were in the same card, but fought other fighters: Matthysse vs Ortiz, Broner vs Taylor. They won both their respective fights; Broner called out Matthysse, Matthysse replied, "I hope he's not joking." Nothing happened. Matthysse left Haymon and signed with GBP. That's how frustrating boxing is. Both want the fight and someone has to stop it from happening.

Broner is a piece of sh1t human being but the dude fights tough fights at least. Can't say that about the other 99% of fighters out there looking for easy pay checks

what do u mean broners hearts not in question lol. if he had more heart, he wouldnt go into his shell and not throw anything back when hes in there against top oppositon. Broner goes into his shell because that is his style and he showed against Garcia that he can still make some late round comebacks. matthysse just quits

I don't hate it. It should have happened in 2015 at the latest tho. This^^^^^. Should have happened years ago.

Maybe if this was three years ago then yeah, I'd say good match up, but it's not. Matthysse, quite frankly, has not done much since the Provo win, which was almost 2+ years ago. As I said many, many years ago, Matt has a china heart. Broner is in a similar position but probably worse reputation wise. He has lost every major fight and done so by a distance. Plus he has shown he doesnt have an engine to throw punches for 12 rounds but his heart is not in question.
