Younger Tarver? He is actually a bit older than Jones. Maybe you mean that Jones has been in more fights and that makes him "older".
:D Yeah . . . I mean battle scared. He went into more wars than Tarver changing weights class in some instances and that takes it's toll on his body.
jones is gona pull an impressive victory over tarver 2moorw. i'll b at Pismo beach waching it :D lol roy jones is a great fightter tremendous athlete. i belive tarver caught him with a lucky shot, wont happen again. first fight was close, but jones was supposably in bad shape. jones decsion bout 7 rounds to 5...
Jones is now 37 and is coming from a year lay-off so he's against all odds in this fight. If ever Jones should win it's got to be by knock out other than that I don't see him winning against the much younger and conditioned Tarver. :boxing:
A Great Style? But Not A Great Fighter?
That's plain CRAP! BULLSHIT! What is this Jeff Mayweather guy talking about?
Manny Pacquiao doesn't have a great style. He is an all out offensive fighter, which makes him a great fighter. A very EXPLOSIVE and EXCITING fighter.
Rahman is go'in to do him in quick like the Lenox days.
One hitter quiter, bringing the crown back to the states.
DOWN GOES Klitchko!!! GO TO SLEEP
:D Quick? Didn't you see how Rahman moved the last time, when he fought Barret? :p DAMN! Rahman won on the battle of jabs. How would you expect him to make a quick kill against Klitschko?
Campbell seems to be very at ease at 135 so he should stay there and fight the named fighters in the division. His last fight against Kid Diamond is not an easy one but he showed flashes of his old self. I'm giving this guy a fair chance to shine in the 135 division.
I saw somebody mentioned that Byrd is less mobile lately and I agree with that observation, however James Toney seems to be continuosly buldging and gaining weight so that should put them on equal footings :D
Byrd better shape up and take care of Toney or otherwise he might screw up a unification against Klitschko if it ever comes into play.
How do you miss the weight on the biggest fight of your life??? Imagine how pissed off Showtime is lmfao...Im not watching it now..
You know I like both fighters for their guts and fighting heart but I cannot agree on you more on Castillo being dumb failing to make the weight, to think that it was he and his team who pushed for this fight to happen.
i think castillo should win this weekend. that way he can prove that corrales isnt superior in EVERY way, and if castillo wins the 2nd fight, we can look forward to a third fight!
anyone agree?
This fight can go both ways because both are very capable. It's just a matter of who can make the proper adjustment and putting the game plan into play.
If Castillo wins, Yeah most probably we will see a third fight. :boxing:
If this fight ever happens, Hatton would have the advantage having been a natural 140 lber, but I see PBF as a SMART and SLEEK fighter. PBF's footworks and hand speed will surely get into the play and I can see Hatton being frustrated because he can't clinched and hold against PBF the way he fought KT.
PBF via UD.
:D I love this news. Everything is lined up for the title holders.
Time to prove that they deserve their titles. NO DUCKING, NO bullcrap, NO BLAH BLAH BLAH, just fight. Those who will refuse STRIP them off their titles. :boxing:
Bobby Pacquaio is being fed to the lion here. He is not on Famoso's class. Remember he lost via K.O. to another asian fighter before he won against Navarro.
But I'm not blaming him or his team for taking this fight, this is his ticket to FAME.
There's nobody out there for MAB to fight and moving up in weight won't be advisable for him. If he's not gonna fight Pacquiao or Morales again . . . better for him to retire. :)
:D DAMN! I have just lost 9.6 M points on that fight. I went for TARVER by KO.:D but no hard feelings, Tarver FAILED to deliver the goods. I don't think he was robbed, that was a good close fight, some rounds were very hard to score. Tarver simply faded away in the later rounds and Johnson's aggresiveness worked for him. Finally justice for Johnson.
I'm assuming that Winky just wanted to up his purse. :D Trinidad has been given more recognition of course, more respect but if Winky has the confidence he'll grab this chance. I'm sure he'll get more recognition and respect if he makes it through. He's got to meet this challenge head on.
JMM style against manny is good but JMM's after manny was too boring..
Shall we say effective? But pure counter punchers will always be boring. They don't move not until the other fighter attacks . . . reason why JMM has always been booed a lot of times . . . for lack of action.
In my humble opinion, that left uppercut is made to order for Marquez's looping right counter. That can sneak underneath. If it gets to Marquez's chin as Marquez is countering, the impact (two moving objects clashing, i.e., JMM moving in to land his counter as Pac sneaks in the uppercut) means, good night folks!
As I saw it, Fahsan was looking for the right hooks, of which he has had some earlier in the fight, when Manny feinted with the right then put in the left beneath Fahsan's winging right counter.
Fahsan's hand speed is of course nowhere near that of JMM. Manny has to land that upper before Marquez's counter gets to him. Both Manny and JMM have among the best hand-speeds in the bizniz. T'would be awesome to watch!
Manny's newly installed stiff jabs should also be a big factor in February. Stiff jabs discourage counters and they can be lethal facials! ;)
You always have those technical analysis and I like that. :D Very true I'm looking at it the same way . . . those left uppercuts and stiff popping jabs will give JMM problem in executing his counter punches. . . the right hooks and uppercuts included.
I think Frazier would knock Norton out inside 6 rounds. Norton has suspect chin and he doesn't have the tools to keep Frazier off his skin. Norton was stylistically terrible matchup for fighters like Ali and Holmes but he never could cope with big punchers and pressure fighters. Styles makes fights ;)
Absolutely I agree with your opinion. Styles makes fight and the fighter with the agility to adjust to different opponents will always be given more respect and stature than those with obvious limitations.
Cotto and Hatton fought washed out fighters? That's just your opinion Bro . . . . . I can assure you that these two won't be branded fighting washed out fighters if they'll bashed each other on top of that ring. Yeah! Hatton vs. Cotto.
I believe thats what they suggested manny do next not as a way to get to Barrera.
And of course they would suggest him, he is a Golde Boy Promotions fighter isnt he?
Yup GBP wanted to make use of Pac's stature to elevate Larrios just like what Arum did to JMM. Aster robbing Manny PACQUIAO of that W . . . VIA draw (my ASS) . . . JMM's name was included in the P4P list.
