We got a good look at both of them on Saturday.
Byrd mentions in an interview he's prefer to fight Toney next, and there is even a rumored date for this fight at the end of January.
Should it happen, who do you like in the fight?
Simple. These are the two best heavyweights in the world, both former middleweights. How embarrassing is that to the rest of the division? :D
What is embarrassing is that according to your baseball bat fight record you've actually had one go to a decision, you must swing like a fuckin bitch.
Byrd was LH by weight his first two fights and by his 3rd was a heavy and never looked back, so all those middleweight claims don't hold water. Byrd's weight actually closely tracks Ali's until their mid 30s when Ali starts to get more out of shape.
At any rate, Byrd is the favorite against Toney because he's battletested in the division against the best. Toney ain't, though he'd KO Chris in a hotdog eating contest!
For the record, Byrd was never a middleweight. He came out of the olympics and started his career as a heavyweight.
Not correct.

But, I do think that Toney wins this fight. Byrd won't look as fast against Toney, as he looks against the other heavyweights. I can see them exchanging in the early rounds with Toney doing damage to the body. I just think Toney hits harder than Byrd. And if he comes into the ring at around 215, I can see Toney winning by KO.
I've been following boxing since before 2004. :D
That explains a lot.
May I suggest you sponge and observe anything you can, other than making a fool out of yourself every time you speak.
Ask and learn... maybe then people will start giving you good Karma.

Interesting...very interesting.
Enlighten me...what makes this fight the most important fight over a decades span in your mind...take me thru your thought process Fuego.

I've been following boxing since before 2004. :D Back in 2003, Toney, after beating the shit out of Jirov and ruining his career, called Byrd out. It's been a war of words ever since. Almost 3 years it's been going on.

Because Byrd already made a public announcement that he wants to retire
and Toney is 37!
The winner of this fight will definitely takeover the division for the next 5 years to come! 'F' them Klitschkos, Brewsters, Peters, Brocks, etc..
I agree with you: The outcome of Byrd vs. Toney is the future!
Also How The F... can this be a..."fight that's been brewing a long, long time and NEEDS to happen. It will be the most important heavyweight fight of the last 5 years"
If Toney has only been a heavyweight for 2 years?
You are such a tool and you don't even know it

DIEGOFUEGO, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!
there is no way we're going to see a KO, or even a knockdown... i do think it'll be a competitive, but boring, fight... their skills are evenly matched, i dont think one fighter is going to dominate the other..
After watching Toney against Guinn finally, I'm changing my prediction. Toney by decision. Toney works through a round from start to finish while Byrd is known to coast and try to steal rounds in the last twenty seconds or so. That wouldn't work with the active Toney who fought Guinn. Some good points were made about Byrd's diminishing mobility as well.
Byrd in his prime would likely UD Toney though.

he also left off the option of a draw, which is coould be a feasible option.
You have a point.
A draw would have been better served as an option than a Byrd KO.
But I stick to my guns. Toney works Byrd enough to the body to score a late round TKO.
