I expect to be flamed, but screw it, it needs to be said just to be said. I'm targeting any pro athlete who may do this.
When it comes to performance enhancement, illegal products shouldn't be the only things looked at anymore. I know Floyd Sr. is wrong to accuse Pacman of steroid use, but he should've at least did his homework before putting THAT label on Manny. Alex Ariza pretty much through it in Sr.'s face on what he was doing. You can take all kinds of store shelf supplements to satisfactorily mimick the effects of everything from Viagra to the big S without any illegality.
The question should really be, do you look for certain products to blacklist, or do you rule out any outside form (anything that isn't diet and exercise) of performance enhancement period?
I mean for real, what do you guys think? If you're taking something that's perfectly legal, but it's giving you the ability to train harder and longer and is comparable to a banned substance.. isn't that still technically performance enhancement?
What am I getting at?
HGH releasers. They initiate growth hormone effects via boosts in chemicals your body naturally produces and you can get such products from GNC, your local pharmacy probably, the internet, etc. Nothing illegal about it, can't be detected, but it shouldn't be mixed up in competitive sports where you want to be 100% certain the playing field is level.
