I'm talking 40 million before incentives. That's the only way he doesn't sit out and wait for Cotto/Pac I think. Pac could very well lose and screw up their mega fight, and taking on Shane at that high a cash grab may only be for this short window because this is a fight by popular demand and it's before Nov. 14. Imo, this is actually the best time for Floyd to try and muscle the big wigs on an obscene amount. The least they could do is call his bluff if he were to throw out some off the wall number.
Mr boat buyer will get paid well no matter who he fights. He needs to fight SSM now so the 'old' excuse can't be used. The Pac-Cotto winner will still be there after that. Those guys ain't goin nowhere just yet.
Shane has a granite body and chin, I'm not sure if Cotto's punching power had any effect on him and thus would even be a factor but of course it can always be that way you never know.
He supposedly ruptured Shane's ear drum in that fight. The boy can punch. Both Clottey and Margarito said Cotto hits real hard.
Mosley only made like what? 2.5 Million in the Margarito fight. So if the fight happens you know Floyd is going to ask for a huge share.
Anyway its either Mosley or the Cotto/Pac winner.
Floyd's biggest money fight is with Shane or Pac, either way he makes loads of cash and probably wins the fight.
I believe he will fight him, he is just trying to slowly hype it up with all the back and fourth talk between him and Mosley. Mosley and Floyd have probably agreed it already to fight at some point but they are both hyping it together imo.
good point on the corner and naz richardson but I gotta say that I don't think the weight had anything to do with it that night. It's not like Mayorga was physically manhandling him or anything no, it was pure and simple the fact that Shane just couldn't figure him out and was missing everything he was throwing. In fact if you think about it, it seemed that if Mayorga was any lighter he would have done even better (due to being faster) and then beat Shane. Shane just couldn't connect on him all night and was wildly missing and getting really frustrated with absolutely zero game plan.
And as for Marg, being "on Marg" isn't really all that hard considering he's on you all the time to begin with and just walks towards you in straight lines so at this point I'm still skeptical of Shane being able to beat any slick or awkward fighters. Tell me what can Cotto do that Floyd can't? Answer: nothing.
Cotto hits way harder.
I remember Shane really being bothered by Mayorga in the clinches. I don't think weight can be entirely ruled out.
Floyd's stupid. He should fight Shane and get it over with, shut all the critics up. The truth is Shane at this stage of the game has trouble with pure boxers or akward fighters. He only looked really good against a joke of a fighter stationery target Margarito who Mosley tee'd off on. He almost lost to MAYORGA for god sake and got beat by Cotto who is an inferior boxer to Floyd. Floyd would UD Shane easily if he wanted to.
Mayorga was really heavy in their fight. 170. And keep in mind Shane was still working without a real corner, without a real strategy. He hooks up with Naz and he's on Marg right away following a solid game plan.
