He does indeed, taking beatings from Cotto and Hatton without being knocked down or KO'd. Recently, Margarito had an amazing chin. It's probably done now after taking so many punches in 44 fights, especially after the brutal KO by Moseley. But before that and even during the fight, the man could take a bat. Khan has certainly not got a huge following in the UK, it will never happen simply because of his race(not starting a race debate here, but there are cultural reasons he'll never have a universal following). He could be an undisputed world champion and he'll never pull a crowd like Hatton.(different mentality across here, in general the public love a down to earth working class hero hense the love of Hatton) I certainly don't get overly excited by him (the chin will always be in question but he's a good boxer) but give him some slack, he's just a kid and I can think of a list of about 200+ fighters I'd rather not watch in favour of sitting down in front of a Khan fight.

just curious, who were you rooting for? I was rooting for Afolabi. I can never remember my cards but I'm pretty sure I had Huck up by 1. I may have been taking into consideration the surroundings when scoring though. I think(not certain) I gave Huck some of the latter rounds as I thought Afolabi tired bad and forced alot of his later work. It's a funny old game. I'm sure I'd probably have an entirely different card if I watched it again without my usual distractions when I watch boxing (copious amounts of weed and alcohol)

The broadcast commentary was hilarious. They kept saying "Barker is back, This is the Barker of old" because he whooped on some 37 year old Italian bum. FFS. What was funny about it? Given Barkers excessive career threatening injuries and recent lay offs, I'd suggest the "Barker is back" bit is quite appropriate and makes reference to his physical condition and not who he just beat.

Some people get pissed, a lot say it was close either way, and most who scored it for Calzaghe just laugh at how upset Calzaghe's passionate loathers and/or X worshippers get about the verdict. Seen this earlier today. Skip to 11:30... If you watch the sparring footage, Khan takes big shots through out it, defence looking worse. Yeh I noticed this too. When he was talking shots he was happy to glove up and freeze, like he is prone to do when he has tired in fights in the past. No head movement whatsoever. Could be an issue later in Garcia fight. If Khan tires and get pinned against the ropes, Garcia has the punching style to come round the gloves and land on Khan.

And, in terms of his size, he seems to be able to make 130 rather easily. I just think he's pretty tall and long for that weight, that's all. Sort of how Paul Williams was. When I first saw him against PDL, I thought he had potential but he needed work. But, since then he's looked impressive, I don't think that can be denied. And, Litzau and especially Eloy Perez are no slouches at all. And, he's ready to fight Escobedo, who he himself is a big JLW who used to be a LW. Escobedo is pretty solid as well. Not to mention, the kid is only 22 years old, he still has time to get better. And, in terms of his footwork, I respectfully disagree about him having "bad" footwork. Eloy Perez said the same thing, and he found out the opposite. Just because you have a wide stance doesn't mean you have bad footwork, it's just your individual style. Roy Jones had a wide stance, Mayweather uses a very wide stance very often. So, that really means little to nothing. I also disagree about him having a bad jab, I actually think he has a very good jab. He completely dominated Perez with it, who is in his own right a very slick good boxer. I have to say, I think your being way too hard on the kid, and just because he has a few a.sshole fans doesn't mean you have to tear the guy down. I'm just excited we have a new, young, prospect with a lot of potential introduced to the sport. The kid has tremendous speed and power, his defense has improved tremendously since the PDL fight, he has great reflexes, and he hasn't even come close to reaching his peak yet at only being at the very young age of 22. That's just my two cents. Completely agree with your 2 cents! Boxing fans are far too quick to shoot prospects down. Broners public persona is going to invite that of course but I agree with your breakdown at this stage of his career. You can pick away at certain aspects of Broners style but it's far too early to be doing that in a overly critical manner, the dude is young, has skills and is learning his trade. Time will tell with what he becomes but in my eyes he does look a very good prospect that is very watchable.

This is a very good fight. I'm going with Burns in this one, this should become a boxing match and I think Burns' awkwardness will pull it out for him. Really like both fighters, think Burns will pull off the points win by coming on strong in the 2nd half of the fight.

Just bringing back memories of the first Peters fight, I will say, Wlad handles pressure a lot worse than people say. Wlad's first defense against pressure is the clinch, and it's a scary one at that. I think Chisora does better against Wlad than he did Vitali. Vitali, when he wasn' tclinching, was punching WHILE moving and putting right hands inbetween Chisoras work. Wlad would have waited, as he likes to punch when he's set. he never punches while moving. This is why he is constantly clinching, because he has to reset the action and get comfortable before throwing. He also demands the center of the ring, he's not comfortable on the ropes. He will clinch, or pivot, and try to get the center of the ring back. Chisora, assuming he could take Wlads punch, would definitely make wlad far more uncomfortable than he did Vitali. They haev entirely different styles and mindsets. Vitali can punch while off balance, moving, just without being "ready" to punch. Wlad? Show me 1 time wlad ever threw a punch when he wasn't completely set. Or show me ONE time he threw a punch WHILE moving back. Yep I get what you're saying I think there would be some hard times in a fight with Chisora but I think when Wladimir lands which he would a lot more damage would be done Both the truth. So we can assume that Wlad would look alot more uncomfortable while it lasted but once Chisora eats a few stiff Wlad jabs he'd be far more reluctant to march forward thus giving Wlad the time to set and land the bigger shots.

Play Madden for a few months, pick up the basics and watch a game you'll enjoy it. When you begin to understand the basics you begin to understand what each individual is achieving on each play and it becomes a wonderfully technical game. Tactically it's mental! You think we analyse football well "American football" wipes the floor. It's not a stop start game when you understand what they are doing. From a (live)spectators point of view the game is amazing. I loved every minute of Chargers Saints a few years back at Wembley (even though Chargers lost). Fantastic experience and overall a better experience than I had visiting Old Trafford and Anfield for premier league games......(they should have been amazing as I'm used to supporting Dundee FC haha) I'm not a fan of basketball or baseball but do love hockey....

I've been living in the UK for over 10 years. And there's this cringe-worthy thing they like to do, which is basically overrate all their products. They do it with football (soccer), and it seems they do it with boxing too. After setting themselves up for a massive fall, they go on to embarrassing themselves. Their new hype is now directed at Kell Brooks. According to majority of them, he's already a "world beater", and can challenge the likes of Pacquiao and Mayweather. Only a matter of time before he fails. You'd think with all the "hype" that he's been getting you'd be able to spell his name...... stop talking sh*te. :pat:

I voted yes although I don't think it was "forced". The pressure was on after RG numbers which I think would have made Floyd consider what seems a "harder" fight. In all truth I just can't get overly hyped for this fight. Although I really like Alvarez I don't consider him unbeaten by any means. He kind of plods in and his output in low, ideal for even this less nimble on his feet Floyd. Take him down that extra couple of pounds, have the usual ref breaking the second Alvarez gets within 2 feet of Floyd and it's pretty much the same old as far as I'm concerned. As always I'll be delighted if I'm wrong. Not that I'm hating on Floyd or anything, love his skills but he is not the sort of character that should personify the sport.
