Al Bernstein talking about Lennox Lewis: "In my estimation the best heavyweight champion of all time in terms of an unbeatable one - when he's in shape and his prime".
@ around 2:30
Edit: David Haye @ 2:00 talking about Lewis : "One of the greatest, if not THE greatest heavyweight of all time."
All I see is George Foreman.
You said a lot of people said Lewis was the greatest ever after Holyfield and Tyson.
Name them, it's a simple ask, to a statment that you made.
I think both Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield called him the greatest or one of the greatest along with George Foreman. They were mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm just saying that Bernstein's notion isn't really that far-fetched when others had been saying it as well.
I don't think he's the greatest though, as I'm sure you don't either.
I think you should calm down, mate. It's not that serious.
I'm no fan of Lennox Lewis but my opinion is unbiased and supported.
It may anger you that I don't regard him as high as you but I think threatening me is a little rash and obsessive.
Lennox is an ATG HW but I'm doing nothing but challenging the idea that he is "unbeatable" and nothing more.
If the thread was "Lennox Lewis is an ATG Heavyweight" you wouldn't see me in here refuting that.
Sure thing, bro. :lol1:
ATG HW absolutely but the greatest ever? I don't think so and talk of him being unbeatable in his prime is ridiculous.
I hate the excuses that get made like any fighter is 100% ever.
Great fighter no doubt but its just crazy to say he was unbeatable during a certain timeframe which happens to be from one punch K.O loss to the other.
How was he unbeatable just because he had a good run? Ray Mercer beat him during that period from what I remember there was also many that had Holyfield winning the second fight. Both of these guys was faded too!We know Lennox wasn't unbeatable. Stop getting bent out of shape over a trolls opinion of Lennox.
And for the record, no...Mercer did not beat Lennox. Lennox gave just as good as he got in the Mercer fight, and I had Lennox beating Holy both times.

@IronDanHamza
Shut the **** up Jabroni. You are a blatant Lewis hater..Nobody said he was Goat. But most pundits do have him in the top 10 All Time Heavyweight. That's not an outrageous claim. H2H he is top 1-3... man you are one pathetic worm.
Normally if I see haters like you on the streets I would just punch them in the face.. but I know if I hit you.. you'll die. So I'll just spit on you if I ever see your hater ass.

How can Lennox be considered the best if he never even fought Tye Fields? He even retired right around the time Fields was destroying everybody in a round. Shameful.
Lewis was past prime against Tyson.
He was just extremely motivated. A extremely motivated Lewis would have destroyed Vitali in the rematch despite being a corpse at that point.
Anyone who trashes Lewis is simply a hater. Let me tell you guys why.
Hate on Pacquaio because his fans trash other fighters.
Hate on Floyd because of his personality.
Hate on KLITSCHKOS because his fans trash other fighters.
Lewis himself never talked trash, and his fans never go after other fighters calling them bums and discrediting their resumes. So why the **** does Lewis receive hate?
Let me tell you guys why. Because a bunch of racist Neo Nazi Klitschko fans, butt hurt Tyson/Holyfield fans, and Anti Brits get all their panties in a bunch whenever Lewis's name is brought up.
Like that piece of monkey crap IrondanHazma who claims he don't care about Lewis but at every chance he gets he bashes Lewis. Probably spend his whole life getting the *** from some 6'6 Black Jamician and have some inner turmoil.
Lewis retired the entire American Heavyweight Division.. and ******s still butt hurt over it. Tony Thompson would have been killed from the air Lennox's jab creates. Lennox would have put Tony Thompson into a wheelchair alongside Tony's wife.
So you went and created an alt because the real **** that you truly want to say.. that you're too scared to say under your original screen name would've been banned.
****ing coward, lmao!
During his prime, Lewis would have beaten anyone. Great thread and good ole Al telling it like it is without the racism clouding his mind. Sad that we can't say the same for a lot of butt hurt racists and haters on this site.
This is what grates me. No he wouldn't & he didn't!
I'm not trolling. I don't need to go back and review it. I'm well aware of what happened. You seem to be the one who keeps changing the story. First it was 6 seconds, then 4 seconds, now it was no seconds?
Who's trolling?
The bottom line is that Ali is a greater fighter than Lennox Lewis because of his ability and his resume. It's not because Lewis got KO'd and he didn't. Lewis never got beat by a guy with 7 fights. That doesn't make him better. Stupid initial comment.how did you reply to this post? i deleted this post within seconds? (wtf) (and left the thread)
i deleted my post to you because i just figured you were trolling & not worth my time anymore............i counted 4 official seconds.........(had to download the video and slow it down)
not even worth mentioning..........
lewis was ko'd...........multiple times. MEANING lewis never even made it back to his corner. (his legs were gone against mccall & was sleep against rahman) that plays a part in overall greatness..........not to mention that ali's body of work is one of the greatest.
we're comparing ali to lewis so we must go over all aspects. and chin is one aspect that lewis severely fails at (when compared to ali)
everything that has been mentioned makes it a complete joke to put lewis over ali............(a joke)
No way. Maybe in the bottom half of the top ten, but no way can anyone say he's better than Ali or Holmes in their primes. That's not even an argument to be made. Then if you factor in all the great old timers—Joe Louis, Dempsey, Marciano even...so many great HW champs that were unbeaten in their prime. Lewis got knocked out twice DURING his prime against Oliver McCall a total bum and Hasim Rahman, who would probably have a losing record in Ali's era. Even in the case of Wlad Klitschko you can make the case that Wlad got KO'd before he partnered with Steward and before he had solved the flaws in his game that made him a more complete fighter. With Lewis he got KO'd by a journeyman at the height of his career, that automatically disqualifies him as the greatest ever I don't care what anyone has to say about conditioning or not coming to the fight in shape.
People tend to forget that where Ali went down from Cooper's helacious hook and got up at the count of 3, and Frazier's bomb in round 15, and got up at 3, Lennox got up wobbily against McCall, who probably finishes Lennox, and couldn't get up before the count of 10 without help in the 1st Rahman fight.
(actually there was no extra seconds in between the rounds) just reviewed it.......the ref yells "seconds out" and they both come to the ring at the 21 second mark. the glove crap happened within the 21 second mark..........(go back and review it yourself)
keep up the trolling :fing02:

Yeah smelling salts can re-energize a man. The time he got after Angelo Dundee ripped his glove is questionable too. Every second counts when you're on queer street.

At the most 6 seconds were added.

Go to 5:30.
Go through the thread, they've already been mentioned and videos have been put up. Please.

first thing.........ali was up at the count of 3 (go back and actually watch the video and stop listening to what nerds have told you on here. they have flat out lied to you) and if w'ere talking about the so called "glove controversy" there was none..........it lasted for about 4 seconds if that. another joke.............ali went back out and proceeded to detach coopers eye ball from his face.

Rigondeaux's amateur achievements >Lewis's
Rigondeaux in only his 13th pro fight has cleared the entire division and unified.
What had Lewis done in the same time frame? Where was he even 20 fights down the line?
Oh that is right he was defending some absolutely worthless tin strap against bums in his hometown against Frank Warren selected tomato cans.
Rigo will easily surpass Lewis in terms of greatness who was handed Bowes old strap that was thrown in the rubbish, literally! Vacant strap against McCall.
I am sure many, many fighters could unify fighting a load of has-beens like Lewis did. Look who and how he won those straps.
Rigo blazed undefeated Ramos for his first world title in only his 8th pro fight, forward to his 13th where he starched prime, top p4p, 3 weight world champion Nonito Donaire.
Tbh its Lewis who doesn't belong in the same breath as Rigondeaux.
People might want to scout his record and claim hes one of or the greatest ever based on names but its not just who you beat, its when you beat them.
Why avoid every question? If hes so great justify your case. Tell me why he never rematched Mercer who beat him to a pulp. Tell me why he never fought a single southpaw. Tell me a single great fighter he beat whilst they was prime.
