Haaaaaaaaa, the Mike Tyson punchout picture is hilarious. Now only if you could get him to bite and tackle his opponents at the weigh in.
After Ali, it's just one big toss up.

lol, maybe he has a fetish. I like Green, I think he's a big super middle weight with good power and skills. Hopfully he'll be in this form: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXh5GfdYid4
and not the form where he got knocked around the ring by Miranda or almost knocked out by Donnie McCrary from the contender.
LMAO, I'm a Wlad fan but thsi wasn't his most exciting fight. Against Brock he was firing the right hand earlier and more consistently. Here he won rounds easily, but he didn't really give the fans what they wanted. I am not saying he had to knock Iggy out, but he should Have thrown more then like 3 right hands before the 5th round.
kelly pavlik isnt my #1 favorite fighter, but his performance against miranda was fantastic. when i went to bed that night, i was still smiling.
I second that one. That fight was like a adrenaline rush, I had a natural high for like 2 hours after that fight and watched it again on Demand the next morning. I'd also say:
Wlad - Brock
Mayweather - DeLaHoya (Mayweather dominated and put on a boxing clinic, I don't care what anyone else says)
This would no doubt be a big pay-per-view event and a big fiscal reward for both fighters. My first reaction would be Wlad's too young/strong/big and Holyfield would get dominated. But Holyfield is strange in that you can never count the guy out. Most people picked Tyson to literally kill him and look how that turned out. Holyfield has got to be one of the most resilient and hardest working guys in sports. I seriously don't think he could beat a prime Wlad at this point in his career, but I think it might be a closer fight than one would autmatically assume.
I'd like to see Wlad fight either Chagaev or the winner of Iggy/Holy. I think Holy stands a good shot at Iggy bc they are about the same size/strength and Holy has faced better opposition and been in a ton of championship fights. This kind of nullfies Iggy's age advantage, and makes the fight pretty even IMO. Wlad would probbably destroy Holy, but with Holy you never know, the guy is a warrior. IMO Chagaev has the best shot of beating Wlad out of any of the current HWs, if for no other reason he's a lefty with power and good boxing skills.
Ugh, I can't stand the way sportscenter, ESPN magazine, Sports Illustrated, etc, hype Football, Baseball, and every other sport to no end and boxing is a 3rd or 4th class citizen. My roomates are obsessed with football and all I am going to hear about for the next 6 months or however long the season is, is about their fantasy teams, favorite teams, players (bleh). Boxing and MMA are so much more compelling than watching some fat thugs throw a ball around a field and bump into eachother. Baseball which I used to be a huge fan of, also is overhyped, but is ok in small doses. Same goes for Basketball. We'll have to wait until Floyd of Oscar fights again so ESPN can jump on their nuts for a couple weeks; until then they will completely ignore boxing.
Yeah this was a sad fight in many ways. Tyson not coming prepared and boxing like shit (going for the knockout and not using head movement, etc). Tyson's inept corner. And Tyson getting battered like a rag doll the whole fight before he gets layed out. Props to Douglas who fought an amazing fight, too bad he wasn't as motivated when he fought Holyfield.
I don't know how this one will go. Pavlik proved himself agaist Miranda when no one gave him much of a shot. We'll see how Taylor reacts when he gets hit, and he will get hit hard and often by Pavlik. Whether he has the boxing skills and power to keep Pavlik at bay ramains to be seen. The fact that Taylor beat B-Hop twice is an indicator that this might be a tough fight for Pavlik. However, he may also destroy Taylor with constant pressure just like he did to Miranda. If I had to guess at this point I'd say Pavlik by TKO 9
I think Wlad should find Purrity and take him out of his retirement home and have a rematch. Btw I have never even seen Purrity and have no idea what he looks like or how he fights.
Wlad has really improved and I think he is in his prime right now. The Question is, who does he fight now? I think it should be either the winner of Ibragimov/Chagaev or Peter/Maskaev (Peter better beat him). I think Peter would have the best shot against Klitschko. Even thought Kilt beat Peter before, Peter appears to have improved his game as well and if he pressures Wlad enough he's got great power and might have a shot. I think Chagaev would have the second best shot. He already beat a bigger man (albeit less skilled) and He is also a hard puncher (and a lefty to boot, think Corrie Sanders). Other than that, I don't really see anyone who could give Klit much of a chance. Kind of like how prime Tyson didn't really have any worthy competition.
Are you sure Brewster didn't substitute Kimbo Slice in his place for the fight. After his win against Mercer, Kimbo probably thinks he has a shot against Wlad. Wlad is looking pretty ripped. I wouldn't want to be Brewster in this fight, something tells me he is in for a long (short) night.
Tyson...he got me into boxing, I probably would never have watched if it wasn't for him. As far as current fights I'd say: Pavlik, Wlad and Vitali, Floyd, Manfredo, Pac man, Malignaggi, Gatti, Corre Sanders .
I think Wlad beats Sanders today pretty easily. I'd say Sanders might rock him with a few shots early on, but then Wlad wears him out with the jab and either TKO or KOs him with the right hand. I'd go even further saying that this verson of Wlad beats the prime, in shape (realtively speaking) Sanders in similar fashion that Vitali did. And this is coming from someone with Sanders as his avatar
I think this will be a good fight, too bad I'm broke and can't afford the ppv. I think Cotto will Tko Judah in 8, but it could go either way if Judah catches Cotto early. I do hope they really do slug it out and are not intimidated of eachother.
