He ducked margarito, Williams and pac obviously for 5 years easily. All his wins post coralles were fighters that were picked at the right time in their careers to favor mayweather to win aka cherrypicking
$64.99 in SD has been the standard price for six years now and many recent PPVs have been $74.99-$89.99 in SD. What is this increasing price you speak of?
As for the undercard, the unified junior middleweight championship of the world is being defended. Also, Ring Magazine & ESPN #3 heavyweight in the world King Kong Ortiz is on the undercard.
Not to mention Showtime giving away Stevenson vs Gvozdyk for the world light heavyweight championship away for free.
So in one night, you've got the WBC & lineal world heavyweight championship unification, the WBC & lineal world light heavyweight championship being defended in a dangerous mandatory defense, and the unified IBF & Super WBA world 154 pound championship.
Doesn't seem weak to me.
And before 65 dollars how long was it 50? Other than that you literally just explained the price increase when you stated:
"$64.99 in SD has been the standard price for six years now and many recent PPVs have been $74.99-$89.99 in SD."
The joyce, ortiz and hurd fights are all mismatch showcases. The stevenson fight is a decent bone to throw but stevenson is all but irrelevant at this point with his inactivity. Oh yeah and for the people going to the fight live they dont even get to see it because its in canada lol.
With all that being said ill still most likely be ordering it because it seems like enough friends are interested enough. It just barely scrapes by as ppv worthy
WBC vs Lineal champion. That’s basically what you described when saying what PPV should be reserved for.
And when was the price increase? GGG/Canelo 2 cost $15 more!
And lastly, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who ordered a PPV for the undercard. Everyone complaining just to conplain.
Na im complaining because i work hard for my money and im not trying to waste it on bad business thats milking our sport and fans
I really think ppv should be reserved for the consensus two best fighters of the division. Especially with the increasing price and general lacking of an undercard. Im pretty much uninterested in paying for about 90% of fights that end up on ppv even when i have interest in the match up.
With that being said, if enough friends come over to split the cost then yes ordering it. If not, ill be looking for a stream
Floyd consistently didn't fight the fighters that the general public wanted him to fight and when the pressure mounted or he was backed into a corner, he would retire. No matter much time passes, ill never forget this.
If you cant see how mayweather cherry picked 95% of his fights post arturo gatti (and even gatti was at the end of his career, but wbc super lw champion) then i donno where you were at
Id think any of the networks would be drooling to get the 3 of them and replace any of the current teams. They **** all over any other commentator team. Showtime being second to them
Well at least he got the injury excuse. What about Shawn Porter though? what about the WBC ranking Berto number 1 for some weird reason? They did Spence so dirty and there's not much Al can so about it.
Im all for a porter fight i think thats a logical next step. Doesnt sound like he wants to fight again this year i guess
Wilder vs. Fury is a bigger fight and Wilder vs. Ortiz will be bigger next year than it'd be this year.
Wilder won by conclusive knockout. Giving Ortiz a little more time to rebuild himself only makes a rematch bigger. Meanwhile, Wilder vs. Fury is the biggest fight that can be made for Wilder outside of AJ.
Regardless of the knockout i felt the fight was really close. Certainly close enough for an immediate rematch. Especially seeing as Ortiz already came back strong and it will be wilders first fight back
Why rematch someone you knocked out?? Fury is the best move, he can get exposer in the UK and get the Lineal title in the process
Because it was a close back and forth fight that almost had wilder knocked out himself. A fury fight is going to look like a dance contest wont be half as exciting as an ortiz rematch imo

Almost seems like spence wasnt trying to ko him. Wasnt seeing his normal come forward relentlessness. He seemed to back off at times when he got him to the ropes or corner. Was he trying to put on a technical schooling for garcia or did they just agree before the fight to go to decision n get them g's?
Manny jumped into the ring, meanwhile, Porter was looking for the fastest way out of the stadium.
Noticed that. I donno why either i think porters style would give spence problems
yes it is since he won every title at 147 (which was his 4th division) and had wins over 3 top 3 p4p fighters...you can slam him all you want but what ww in the last 20 years has a better resume at 147 then floyd?

I give him credit for taking the zab, odh and hatton fights. I cant even give him credit for baldomir because everyone knew that was a total mismatch and he was just title hunting while avoiding either cotto, margarito or p. Williams. Every action he took, post-hatton, including his 1 year and 9 month "retirement" was an effort to avoid facing pac
Many times. When I was a world champion, I fought in Vegas several times (different sport, not boxing).
How can you say Mayweather doesn't get special treatment then?
This is common knowledge amongst the average casino worker.
What’s your favorite comeback fight!?
Comeback as in someones losing a fight and then ends up winning or someone who has lost/retired before and fights to get themselves back in contention?
