You wouldn't last two rds with the greatest boxing commentator of all time.
Fa ck off loser. I'm fairly certain I could whip Lampley and you at the same time. If cheerleading company shills are your preference for boxing announcers, so be it. I just prefer mine to be unbiased.
Watching this fight on thrilla, they keep showing camera shots through the ropes. What the fuk is this? do they not have a camera above? they cant stand on the ring side to film like normal?
there are backyard brawling youtube channels that are more professional than this. camera shot through the ropes, that is garbage
I just miss Jim Lampley who is for me....the voice of boxing.
HBO was top tier. Jim, Emmanuel and Larry Merchant. You can't beat that line up. Ever.
George and Roy were both great in later years too. HBO was pure class. Classy classy operation.
I didnt like Max Kellerman though. He just kisses the ass of American fighters. Its so pathetic. He's the only one of the cast of recent times I didnt like. But still HBO was way way superior to all other broadcasts
For me HBO Boxing is like part of my DNA. When they step down...I felt that something of myself was pulled out. We need to be a hard die boxing fan to really understand the meaning of HBO Boxing in the history of this sport. The intros, the 24/7, Lederman, Michael Buffer, Manny Stewart, Jim, Larry, a really best of the best production crew of the highest standard.
Really missed.
The thing with them having a near monopoly on it as well meant that you could see all the major fights with one subscription. If it was PPV you could watch it the following week. espn had the lower level stuff too that probably was with your cable package.
Now the stuff is spread out everywhere and all ppv and you might not get a replay
Their production quality was top notch. At the time I thought lampley could be annoying and that merchant was a know it all grumpy senile old fuk. But man i miss it now
Showtime was cheesy in comparison but now they look like a real professional outfit
this latest chit on trilla and dazn is low quality trash, looks like some highschool stoners produce it

Considering the production of these online outlets I miss them a lot. Fox Sports is probably the best of the current bunch but they still don't come close.
Lampley was clearly very good at his job, I liked his style and passion 'He was deep on boxing'.
Most commentators these days, just TELL you what is going on 'You may think? Well that is what a commentator is meant to do, yes but great commentators are multi-dimensional.
I just prefer my boxing announcers to be unbiased. Lampley was little more than a cheerleading company shill.
It's a shame you're badmouthing the voice of boxing given how long he was calling all of the action
Just because you considered him the voice of boxing, doesn't make it true. Like I posted, I prefer my boxing announcers to be unbiased not cheerleading company shills.
So you're a big fan of cheerleaders? Lampley is one of the few thing I don't miss about HBO, I prefer my boxing announcers to be unbiased.
I certainly miss the HBO of old but the last few years their programming wasn't good. Mostly ggg mismatches and Pac PPV replays.
