Damn ... im guessin you mean 6 straight losses right ? Because Larry Holmes was 48-0 when he lost to Spinks and ended up with 6 losses but he didnt lose em back to back
El Divino Espinoza has everything to be the next face of mexican boxing, he is skilled, he is a ko machine, he is tall enough to conque as many weight classes as he wishes, he can even sing hahaha
I think he has a good chance to be the next face of Mexican boxing for the next 3-5 years if everything goes right for him.
If he beats or gives a fight of the year performance his stock can skyrocket overnight
IMO most pro athletes use em bro so dont even sweat it hahaha
the better money they make the more access they have to a ton of substances out there that are not detectable.
Dont u find it awesome when a soccer player ( to put an example ) gets seriously injured and after a month he is playing again at a very high level... do they have super human abilities to recover ? ... think again bro
The physiques of the athletes of everysport has changed dramatically in the last couple of decades, thats a combination of nutrition and yeah ... lets call it "sports technology"
I liked this thread because i love the sport so much too, even was a fighter for a period of my life, and still love the sport hardcore.
Being that said i really hope 2015 its a better year for boxing than 2014
I ve got Lemieux by ko/tko over stevens. I think stevens will go to his shell and make the night easy for Lemieux, still he will have to be careful about Stevens explosive still while on a shell.
I just dont see how Jacobs can take this.
Is he good ? yeah sure but GGG will pressure him and stop him. GGG´s defense is better than what it looks, and he is chin is tested material.
GGG in the first half of the fight.
( good episode of 24/7 )
Try not to watch important fights with casuals broo its a pain in the ass hahaha Specially if u have money on it ( which i do in almost every title fight )
Great post, and i have felt that "shame" of being super pumped for a fight and casuals not getting it, a good example also was Ward vs Kovalev i was super pumped and i tought the fight was incredible, and most casuals tought it was a ****y fight WTF
IMO If u wanna turn some friends into boxing fans just show em a few good ones on youtube specially short ones , and little by little if they show interest and grasp the concept of the sport u start showing different styles, longer fights... etc...etc.. I ve done it many times because i watch a loooot of boxing and enjoy talking about it, but i dont have any close friends like that, just a couple of guys from the boxing gym haha and they are not very international about it ( i live in mexico ). I have turned a couple into not so casual fans anymore.
Gettin a little out of topic but you know wich fight i think its awesome to show to casuals with interest, Toney vs Mccallum 1 , not only is it action packed but also highly technical and strategic.
Just my 2 cents, i love boxing so much i dont think it will ever die, f u ck de casuals
Cmooon he would beat both, im not completely sold on GGG but still he is a really good champ !
I was a fan of Pavlik back in the day, but he was limited, slow on his feet, and he didnt really used his reach, it would be fun while it lasted but i think ggg would destroy him.
Prime Martinez imo was at 154, he could give ggg problems with his movement but he does like to trade, he did it in most of his fights, and i dont think that would be a good idea for him against a GGG.
Still we will never know, fantasy match ups are always great to analize, would you imagine a Hagler vs GGG, pheeew that would be a hell of a fight IMO.
So what about this scenario.
If Canelo vs GGG, turns out to be a mismatch in favour of any , but Ward vs Kovalev turns out to be really competitive.
Then the winner of Canelo vs GGG would be the clear p4p guy of the moment.
Or viceversa, if ward or kovalev wins with ease against each other but ggg vs canelo turns out to be too competitive, then the winner of Ward vs Kovalev becaomes the clear p4p.
It's funny that hardcore fans are the type of fans that actually ruin the sport and push away people from becoming fans of the sport.
A fighter has a close fight
"OH MY GOD! HE'S EXPOSED!"
"HE'S RUINED!"
"HE WAS NEVER THAT GOOD!"
I can't imagine if BoxingScene was around during earlier eras of Boxing.
Its just sad isnt it ?? hahaha that was a really good fight too, it kinda ruined it for me too hearing all this complaints afterwards.
GGG fought just good and gave a good show, Jacobs did really good too he is a good fighter , and then ppl start with the Canelo talk , he is good too !! Thats why is fun watching this guys fight each other because they are fuc kin good !! believe me all this guys and many many other of the "famous" boxers dont "suck" hahaha ppl just think its easy to box
Even if they fight and we get a clear winner could I honestly tell myself that either guy is better than Lomachenko or Crawford?
I don't think I could. Those guys are better fighters, Its always hard to compare fighters in different weight divisions but in this case I can go out on a limb and say those guys are more versatile and better fighters overall. They both also have better resumes than GGG, although Canelo probably has the best of all 4.
I think maybe the magazines might give it to the winner because of the hype around it, and the fact that both guys are already top 10 p4p guys. But neither guy is better than the two aforementioned fighters, not for me.
Let me put it this way, could you ever picture a naturally smaller fighter beat EITHER Lomachenko or Crawford? Its pretty hard, if not impossible to imagine, which is a pretty good sign that you have two bonafide greats on your hands. My humble opinion.
I feel you bro, Lomachenko skills are just mad, he does things ive never seen anyone else do. But he lacks names and opposition, skillwise him and Rigo are as good as anyone.
Carlos Maussa the guy had horrible boxing skills, i even remember some commentator laughing in one of his fights because he looked childish the way he swings his punches.
But the guy has punch
Ill go with gary, i dont like Loma style for the pros.
I been waiting for a while to see Mr.Gary on the big stage, not only does he posses speed, but IMO he is really skilled both in defense and offense.
His counters and combos are beautiful
No I scored with my head like I always do.
I had it 8-4 I could easily see 7-5. Struggle to see a draw but that's at very best.
I expected the exact fight I saw
You were one of the morons screaming mismatch.
Same as do I .... honestly i dont even think i agree with the draw.
I would love to watch it ! also if pac wins clearly a new case for pac floyd would revive in the eyes of most fans.
Also a fight between maidana and ruslan would be epic
He is a str8 up gangsta, but this is boxing and Floyd is by far the superior boxer.
Does maidana has a chance ? yeah sure he does ! But they are really really slim
#Dinero
#Poder
#Respeto
Props to Maidana he is a real warrior, but tonight he will look like a bum.
Im looking forward to many casual fans blaming floyd for having an opponent like that, that throws akward shots and stuff like that ( remember many casual fans know nothing about maidana and are expecting something very different )
I dont dislike your prediction, actually I kind of see it the same way as you do with the exeption of the Tko posibility, i dont think Ward will tko or even seriously hurt kovalev but i do see him outboxing him.
You also touched the subject of Ward being stronger in the clinches, im not sure about that either but i think its gonna be one of the main points, i do know Ward its strong on the inside and fighting off clinches, ive never seen Kovalev do that kind of thing, but if he turns out to be stronger than Ward on the clinches and is able to rough him up and prevent him from effectively clinch, i think ward could be in problems.
I know its unfair to judge from the Chilemba fight, but i dont buy that sergey struggled on purpose, i do think he found chilembas style tricky at times, and that ward will present him with a much greater challenge than him.
I think ward by a close decision 115-113 116-112 kind of fight.
P4P #1. Sergey stays P4P #2.
It was one of those fights that elevates both fighters. Sergey showed he's the real deal and Ward showed he still has plenty of fight in him.
agreed ...
Kovalev showed he is fo real and has scary power
And Ward showed he can adapt to a monster like that ( #1 and #2 ) grear rivalry , i know the fight is ugly but its exciting !
