Outside of the majority of his opponents; I thought that Gary Russell Jr gave Vasyl Lomachenko one of his most competitive fights of his career; Given how still green he was and given Lomachenko's amateur pedigree. He won several rounds against the "Matrix".

see how people thought it was 50/50 before the fight!!! MANY people tipped Russell Jr to win. Lomachenko has a great resume. A lot of people said Walters would beat him as well. His resume is quality only someone with an agenda would disagree.

Russell hasn't really faced anyone elite, and neither has Loma so I guess based on that it's pretty even, Loma did beat a decent fighter in Ramirez however, who I rate above anyone of Russells wins. 1 win against a ranked fighter and a lose to a past prime, does not constitute a better resume with a man with 25+ pro fights. No disrespect toward the man's earlier accomplishments but Russell has more pro experience no matter the level of competition. 25+ always will look greater than 2....
