Baby Joe was a spectacular offensive fighter. He had 18 straight stoppages including the destruction of davarryl Williamson in my sig. He fought a very good Jirov, who's only career loss was to james toney at that point, and dominated him in the early rounds. The brain bleed came from a punch to the back of Mesi's head when he was on a knee. He still won that fight. Jirov got a shot at Michael Moorer in his next fight. Mesi also beat Monte Barrett who had 6 straight wins and a loss to klitschko on his resume. Barrett also later got a shot at rahman and valuev. Williamson fought Wlad Klitschko and chris byrd in his next 5 fights after the ko loss to mesi. Williamson also beat oliver McCall during that 5 fight stretch.....Baby Joe was screwed by a blatant cheap shot. Hard working Blue collar kid from a blue collar town was much better than so many of the so called "great white hype" type's we tend to see in boxing. 1st alternate for the Olympics and ever pro he ever fought was knocked down and or hurt bad by baby joe. Had the punch to the back of the head never been delivered, Mesi would have gotten his title shot before all 3 of the men he beat and would without question have stopped Michael Moorer, Rahman and Valuev. He would have struggled with Byrd due to his one shortcoming. Joe always faded in the later rounds and byrd would have took it there. Older klitschko would have easily handled Joe but at that time younger klitschko could have been in trouble. That was before he fixed his own stamina issues. Baby Joe could have and would have been a top 5 heavyweight who picked up a minor belt or 2. Shame his career was cut short
Mikey wins that easy. Gamboa boxing from the outside would get him hurt. Garcia is the real deal. Controling the distance, timing and pop in both hands. Gamboa's A game wont beat mikey and yuri rarely brings his A

Broner v. gamboa would be a showcase of skills. Broner would give gamboa a serious challenge. No way gamboa walks through him. I would love to see that fight.
Rios is too big for gamboa, skill wise rios would be much easier but the physicality of rios alone trumps that. Might be career suicide for gamboa to jump up and take on rios immediately. In a few years who knows, but rios will be at least 140 by then. Not sure how far gamboa goes.

Russell is another monster just don't see the consistent pop in his shots and he will be hit more during his career. The level of competition is not even close. For me it's still too early to fully judge jr. Plus he seems tiny for his current size, if that makes sense.

Khan wanted no part of a rematch with maidana or prescott so I feel no pity for him. Still think he deserves the rematch just for coming to d.c.

Maidana was a big puncher no boxing skill, peterson has no punch but plenty of boxing skill. Thing is neither are elite at what they do. What happens to khan when he faces a real elite fighter.

That wasn't the so called shoulder roll defense. It was the wide base lean straight back and eat shots defense. Broner needs a new team. Khan can certainly outbox berto but bertos speed and strength will be too much for khan. Even in bertos losses he gets to his opponents at least once. He will get to khan and khan would be hurt. Facts are facts, freddie roach's fighters cannot make in fight adjustments.
He is a great trainer and gameplanner, he is not even close to elite on fight night. Name one time his fighter made an adjustment and won a fight.
His fighters start strong and fade when the other corner adjust.
