Gamboa is too fast too strong for Mikey Garcia. Mikey showed patience and skill tonight versus an obvious done JuanMa.
I think yuri Knicks Mikey out bad like Chico knocked out his brother Robert.
Garcia takes him to school and knocks him out. Gamboa is quick but mikey neutralizes it with his jab and sense of distance. He knocks gamboa out either by dropping the right on him behind the jab or countering gamboa as he gets frustrated and reckless. I reckon the fight will be a bit like forrest-mosley 1 except gamboa wont have the chin to handle mikeys power.
i wasn't very impressed with gamboa in his first fight after the ped shop closed. I don't know if he will ever be that fighter again.
the guy I saw las saturday would get beaten to a pulp by mikey.
Its crazy the effect that PEDS have on fighters. Look at the Decline of Manny, Pederson, Berto, and Yuri
I still thnk YG has the power and speed to get Mikey out early. IF Mikey can survive past the 5th then its his fight to lose but those first 5 rounds would be scary for Mikey IMO
I agree.
He was getting hit constantly by Farenas, the headbutt's stopping that fight done him a big favour.
It's crazy, though... the guy has yet to fight outside of Japan and he's considered legit. Meanwhile, goofballs like Nishi and Kamegai come over here and get scrapped after being touted as good.
Yes, another Japanese hypejob. Nishi the beast still hurting?
I agree.

Murks them both.
would love to see either guy face uchiyama...
Gamboa still beats Garcia.
Garcia's team refused the fight when it was there and offered to them, Gamboa is simply the better fighter.
what on earth are you smoking man? must be some good *****.......
Gamboa's power drops off considerably as he goes up in weight. I see Mikey beating his ass but I need to see Mikey fight someone with good footwork like Gamboa.
Gamboa has good footwork?

Gamboa said he would go back 130 for the right fight, and since mikey wass struggling making weight i cant see him making the guy go down to 128 even though i think he ll try. I really hope hbo pushes for it , i dont really want a rocky martinez clash. unless he wants to pick up a title first which is possible
IF and that's a big if, Mikey moves up to 130 I might envisage the fight happening. But he was pretty adamant after the fight that he wanted to keep fighting at 126 because he believes he can still make the weight.
If there is no Gamboa or anyone south of FW then the only 2 fights that I care to see Mikey in is either against John or Mares. Mares won't happen but if Mikey wants to make a real splash, he can travel and fight John in Asia. Sadly boxers who are willing to pioneer are few and far between.
Garcia is in his prime or peak. Can't say the same thing with Gamboa. But this is still an intriguing fight. 50 cent should capitalize on the opportunity, if Arum gives it.
I don't see any bigger fight for Gamboa than this right now.
Mikey is in his prime years, but I don't think he's peaked yet. (Very encouraging if you're a fan.) Gamboa may have peaked, but he might not be completely out of his prime. This is a good fight, regardless. Both men would benefit from the match-up...and so would the fans.

Mikey would have this guy out by the 8th. Gamboa is no challenge anymore. A bloated 'never-was' who wasted his prime. Mikey too technical, crafty, skilled and focused to lose to Gamboa
"Never was"? Yuri was the best featherweight in the world for a moment...then came the Rios fiasco. Gamboa is bloated, and he has indeed wasted some prime years, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he's "no challenge anymore." Mikey's never faced anyone as good as Yuri, even in his present state. A motivated Gamboa is a dangerous adversary.
