Bottom line is the bottom line. Khan is the money fight for lamont.
Make some demands and give the man a rematch. I give khan credit, not many fighters would have fought in the challengers backyard. If I'm lamont I say A.C. Close but not in d.c. Forget england. Lamont is the champ now.
Khan wanted no part of a rematch with maidana or prescott so I feel no pity for him. Still think he deserves the rematch just for coming to d.c.
Yep, Khan probably wouldn't but thats not really the point.
An immediate rematch usually follows a fight that has at least one of 3 things but usually all 3.
1. it was controversial. tick.
2. It was an upset. tick
3. it was a great fight. tick.
Had Khan won you lose 2 and probably 3 since Khan lost the points. So a rematch doesn't have as much interest to it.
It would have been oh well, Peterson put up a great effort but fell short, lets see how they go in other figthts.
Now there's alot more questions we want answered. SO more interest and more money.
He should get a rematch but question is, if the shoe was on the other foot & Khan got the decision; would he give Peterson a rematch?
nope because theres bigger fights out there for Khan. There isn't really for Peterson.
Nope.
He refused to give Maidana a rematch, immediate, or otherwise.
What goes around comes around.
lol do you really think decsions in boxing look like that?
he didnt give fighter A a rematch, so why should i ?
lol
here's what it actually looks like
xxxxxxxxx > xx
i'll take xxxxxxxxx
especially if you are lamont peterson
he'll take the best money that comes out of this
or the most sound business decsiion (say half the money for one tenth of the risk, or ten times the money for five times the risk. etc)
He has too, the fight is big money right now, if he waits khan takes another big fight and if he wins he's back in town and has bigger options than peterson. If he loses then he's lost 2 on a row and the fight has much less interest.
As for khan maidana Wat reason is there for a rematch?
Prescott was and has been willing for a long time, to give a rematch to Khan, but Khan refuses it. Khan was too busy fighting old fighters like Barrera, and lighter punching guys like Kotelnik, Salita and Malignaggi. Khan does not want to give a rematch to Maidana, who gave him a hell of a fight. Now Khan saying if Peterson has balls, he would give him a rematch, so does this means that Khan is admitting he has no balls himself?
Peterson is very grateful for Khan giving him a shot at the titles and doing it in his hometown. He seems like the type of guy that would return a favor, boxing wise. He says he's gonna give Khan the rematch so I guess it's going to happen. But given Khan's history with rematches? They're non-existent and Peterson should keep it that way. Let Khan suffer with that loss, and Peterson move on fighting guys like Alvarado, Matthysse, Guzman and then move up to 147.
lol real shit. the queen is obsessed with balls.
Honestly, now that Peterson has the WBA, IBF...he's in a position where he can call out Bradley and attempt to avenge the lost. That's what I would do if I were Peterson, THEN fight Amir Khan. Peterson doesn't need the belts for the public to demand Khan face Peterson.
No immediate rematches. HBO has big plans and Lamont is not a part of it. When you have a fight that could be scored either way yet one of the judges has it 114-111 even after 2 points have been deducted...handwriting + wall=BS. Lamont'll have to KO Khan in the rematch to win. And please belief there won't be an immediate 3rd trilogy fight. HBO will act as if Lamont doesn't even exist. Meanwhile, the Peterson Bros. have one of the most compelling rags to riches, cinderella stories available in sports. Yet, HBO will not try to develop this 'American dream' story script shi't the Petersons got going on. He might as well go ahead and enter his name into the Mayweather sweepstakes while the opportunity is here.
I think a rematch should happen. Considering Khan would have won the fight without the deductions and it was very close even with the deductions.
Depends on Peterson though. I imagine Peterson will want more money this time round.
And Khan may get into some perdicaments now with money. I imagine a lot of people will demand more of the share from Khan after this setback.

Um, only Peterson would lose out on the money, not Khan.
If he doesn't get his rematch, he just moves up to 147 and continue making millions.
He was moving up anyways and would have given up those belts either way.
This loss wouldn't mean much for Kahn, as long as he continue to win against top opposition.
He can fight Ortiz at WW.
Pffft, Khan don't want none of Ortiz!
Yea, Peterson should pull a Khan and make Khan work for it without actually giving it to him.

I'd make him wait...all that mess and riding Floyd for like two years has gotten annoying enough. Let Lamont make a defense or two and maybe Kahn go fight Prescott again or something
