I had it 114-114 and so far the press scores i have collected have been around 50-50.
I will not be doing a fight report for my site as i have computer problems and on the work computer lol but i can collect scores when home and on twitter @thefightscore
The scores along with an average score from the press and fans combined will also be added on my site http://fightscorecollector.blogspot.com
Thanks for any scores provided.
After re-watching it, I still had Trout winning. 114-113 Trout or 115-112 Trout. Canelo took off way too much of way too many rounds. Trout won the later rounds too.
I think trout won rounds 3 and 4.
I thought they were very close rounds. I scored them both even watching the fight live, though I plan on watching it again later today with the sound off so I can really get to the bottom of it.
I had it 115-112 Canelo
1. 10-9
2. 10-9
3. 9-10
4. 10-9
5. 9-10
6. 10-9
7. 10-8
8. 9-10
9. 9-10
10. 10-9
11. 10-9
12. 9-10
Not quite sure how you scored the first for Canelo. None of your other scores jump out at me, but I distinctly remember thinking that Trout had a very strong first round and Canelo barely threw anything in the first two minutes.
I had it 114-113 for Trout, tho I have no problem with canelo winning by a point or two. The entire fight was close, and a handful of rounds were tossups that could have gone either way. Round 7 could have justifiably been only a 10-9, tho I scored it 10-8.
C/T
1: 9/10
2: 10/9
3: 9/10
4: 10/9
5: 9/10
6: 9/10
7: 10/8
8: 9/10
9: 10/9
10: 9/10
11: 10/9
12: 9/10
With that said, the open scoring completely changed the dynamic of the fight, including on my card. For instance the 12th round, canelo knew he had it in the bag and pretty much gave the round away, as opposed to fighting to win had he not known
114-113 Trout. Tough fight to score honestly, but I don't think Canelo did enough after the KD to earn the victory. Mayweather may be as defensive as Canelo was sometimes, but the difference is he is more active in his countering and outlands his opponents.
This is the crux of the entire thing. Every single time Canelo threw punches, he took ALL of Trout's momentum away. Trout missed FAR, FAR more punches than he landed and hardly any of his punches seemed to bother Alvarez at all. Canelo landed almost 50% of his power punches and wobbled Trout multiple times plus handed him the first KD of his career.
.
It seems pretty obvious to me you are a "fighter watcher". What I mean by this is that you don't actually watch both fighters at once in a boxing match, you focus on one fighter and how he acts and reacts during a round. People have a tendency to do this, ESPECIALLY if they are a fan of a particular fighter.
Watching It Live I had It 116-111 Trout, after watching it again this morning, I had it 115-112 also still for TROUT it was also Jabs and punches that Trout was landing that the play by play wasn't calling for what ever reason
That being said...IT WAS TEXAS even Showtime was basically setting you up for the results talking about Chavez vs Whitaker during the pre-fight and telling you the history Texas Bad Scoring, one Judge should have just mailed in his Score Card Weeks Ago and Stayed Home LMFAO
But it was a good fight and it lived up to the "HYPE"! Make no sense to scream robbery because I personally knew in Texas Trout would have needed a PERFECT PERFORMANCE and even that probably would not have been enough to get the decision

I just re-watched the fight and Canelo's activity dictated who the aggressor was, Trout had no control of this fight at all. If anything, Trout is persistent, and active but his aggression was not effective. He throws a lot of jabs and keeps coming but every punch Canelo landed moved him and within a few seconds of exchanging, it was Trout who was forced to back up and Canelo became the aggressor.
To all the people saying Trout won, go watch the 12th round when Trout walks back to his corner and just shakes his head and looks at the floor while Canelo raises his hands. Trout himself didn't think he won the fight so let's not pretend this was a ripoff. Trout tells you in the post-fight interview that he wasn't prepared for Alvarez' boxing style and that there were no excuses.
The man tells you that he thought he lost and that Canelo was the better man, so let's give Canelo the credit he deserves and cut the "hypejob" talk because he just beat the best 154 pounder in the world. The time for excuses is over, Canelo is now the best 154 pounder in the world.
There was no need to think anything, by then they already knew what the judges scorecards were...which was a pretty stupid idea to begin with. It allowed Canelo to take minimal risk, even though I had the fight about even during the eighth round...
So you actually believe Trout only won three rounds??
I had it 115-112 for Trout.
It was honestly a difficult fight to score. Canelo made Trout miss AT LEAST 80% of his punches. He just wasn't throwing enough to win rounds though you could give him credit for landing the cleaner one or two punches he did land per round. Whoever scored that fight 10-2 for Canelo......how is this allowed? Please tell me how judges like this are allowed in the sport.
I didnt count how many punches Trout threw. Thats wasnt a big concern. He barely landed any of them. Lame ass Showtime commentators were making a big deal about how many punches were landed.
Canelo landed the more clean and effective punches. And hurt him several times

115 - 112 Trout.
Trout walked Canelo down for most of the night...
He also landed more and controlled the ring, Canelo appeared winded early on. Trout MADE this fight. Outside of the knockdown and a few hits, Canelo was mainly trying to land KO shots with his arms down...
Honestly, I can't see how ANYONE had him winning...
One of the judges gave Trout three rounds. :wtf:
