I agree with you. I feel like he went into this fight with the intention of trying to knock Maidana out, which is what made it close. Every other fighter that's beaten Maidana fought him very differently than Floyd did last night. Floyd wasn't moving at all, so in the rematch if he decides to box and move he should win by a wide margin
This right here....
I had Chino up 4-1 after the first 5 rounds...sorry but just because you're Floyd I can't give credit for blocking half the shots and the other half not landing 'clean' (whatever that means...they were still landing). Floyd started winning close rounds, so I had it tied after 10 and gave Chino the last round.
114-114
Problem with Floyd fights is that they generate so much money no judge wants to be the one who ruins that cashflow by actually judging a Floyd fight correctly....once Floyd gets that 1L or 1D the powers that be feel his sales would cut in half.
Personally I'm tired of seeing Floyd fight dudes his height/shorter with shorter arm reach. That flat-footed pull counter don't work on a longer wingspan.
watch this fight, starts countering over the jab of a taller fighter with a longer reach in the first round
Silver Back Gorilla males are said to be x15 stronger than the strongest man. they break banboo trees for a living...
Mike had no chance at all...:dead1:
Really?
So what other pro sport did Iverson excel at?
Bo Jackson was both a Pro Bowl football player, and Major League all star.
Iverson was good at one sport.
Bo excelled at two, at their highest levels.
Deion as well.
Dave Winfield was drafted for all three american sports leagues.
Iverson pales in comparison, quite easily.

Baseball season is twice as long as basketball, whether you're sitting or not. There are still workouts to be done daily, traveling, etc.
Nothing is impossible. Bo and Deion went straight from baseball season into football season, with no training camps.
and Wade doesn't even have the heart to walk back to the locker room after a shoulder injury, and you want me to believe he has the heart to take punches to the face?
lol
basketball and football season overlap though, so how would somebody play in the NFL and the NBA at the same time?
Hopkins was never anyones slave, he's just a hypocrite who likes to use the victim crutch when its advantageous for him.
He whines about race at every turn while at the same time making a nice living from the system he claims is against him.
he doesn't have to be a slave
neither of us know what kind of racism he might have faced growing up in the 70s in america
its easy to just say all black people are whinners and they should get over themselves, when you haven't walked in his shoes.
Most of your punching power comes from your legs and technique to use those legs. I always laugh at the juice heads who just work out their upper body and arms and think they are going to knock someone out.
Id rather have 25" calves than 25" biceps.
what about dudes like gerald mcclellan though?
Another idiot.
Clinching in boxing is perfectly legal, has been forever.
HOLDING is illegal. If both arms being trapped or a HOLD (hug) is being done, then it is illegal.
CLINCHING is perfectly fine, and fighters are told to fight their way out of the clinch, or work in the inside.
REFS don't always break clinches/holds up. Some are more lenient whereas some break it up instantly. It has nothing to do with rules, just the way some referee's operate.
Clinching is technically against the rules, and in amateur fights points are deducted fairly quickly for it. It is unlikely, however, to see points deducted for a clinch in professional boxing.
Duran started at 118 and won the 168 belt.
skills win fights, not size
except duran went pro when he was 16
if floyd went pro at that age, he would have been fighting at 106
lol but he did get dropped too everybody ignores that, but when Martinez did the same thing he gets talked down.
I'm not taking anything away as he did great but I was just comparing the fights lol
because martinez got dropped and had to survive the rest of the fight
when rigo got dropped, it was really a balance shot. after that he resumed controlling the fight, and had nonito on the run in the 12th.
Did they say he was 150? I remember him saying he was 146 when he woke up... missed the other part.
yeah, when they showed the tale of the tape it said he was unofficialky 150 on the scales, so he lost weight since the weigh in
Using the ring rankings isn't a very good example. Especially since they only moved canelo to #10 before they mayweather fight. They moved Guerrero to number 10 before their fight too.
do you think bradley could beat canelo?
Broner I do think is more game to fight anybody than Mayweather is....and in my opinion, it's likely one of the most endearing aspects of who he is in relation to Mayweather.
they are in completely different positions, broner is trying to achieve the fame and success that floyd already has. floyd has been at the top of a game for a long time now, and there isn't a fighter on the planet that doesnt want to fight him for the payday. floyd simply doesn't need to chase down fights, he can just pick and choose, as he can't fight everybody.
lmao the showtime guy is prican and hes the worst.....
Olaya(HBO's) is actually pretty good....i think he just thought it was classless of Lara to say that and didnt want to repeat it.....
what did he say?
