I believe Floyd purposely made this fight interesting with plans on a rematch in advance.
Before the fight I was talking with friends about how there is really no interesting fights out there if he beats Chino. No one wants to really see Khan. The newcomers are interesting but too green to make green.
Then Floyd goes and stands in front of Chino and lays on the ropes all night and makes it close ... We all know damn well all he had to do was box and he gets a boring blow out.
Then his WWE reaction to the boos...please tell me you saw that. He pretty much said with his reaction that he will show the audience whose best.He never cares about audience.
Then what sealed it was how he said three times that he will give him the rematch...since when does Floyd say that!?.... I'm telling you right now the rematch happens and it was pre-planned.:arabia:
Love these comments. I feel like Lisa Simpson.lmao can't wait till rematch is made and Floyd blows him out. I will repost thread. I really like Chino and I'm glad he will get more money and his rematch.
so you're an eight year old girl...
thread makes sense now.

Floyd didn't bring out his A or B game doe.
People who believe Mayweather chose to fight that way are the same ones who believe he never brings out his A game, I'm sure.
get your head checked, put the crack pipe down and get off the bottle if you think he purposely made it interesting
it was clear that pressure fighting + body punching + roughhousing + punches from different angles troubled Floyd
as the fight wore on, Floyd did not allow himself to be smothered against the ropes
The same thing would have happened 4 years ago against a similar fighter who threw punches in different angles and in volume.

What on Earth would make you think that Floyd would ever take damage by choice? His health is most important to him, don't be surprised if the talks of retirement come out in the next week or so. He knows he got beat up bad, just look at his face compared to Maidana's in the post fight interviews.
I agree with you. I feel like he went into this fight with the intention of trying to knock Maidana out, which is what made it close. Every other fighter that's beaten Maidana fought him very differently than Floyd did last night. Floyd wasn't moving at all, so in the rematch if he decides to box and move he should win by a wide margin
so people still doesn't give chino credit for nothing uh?
He gets credit but it's not his fault Floyd made it interesting.
YOU NEVER KNOW! The stuff after the fight with Schaefer making the rematch instantly...it looked a bit STAGED to be honest with you. Mayweather don't have an opponent that he can do a big PPV with BESIDES a rematch with Maidana.
But that is disrespectful to Maidana to say "Floyd Made It Interesting"...Maidana fought his ass off, how about the fact that Maidana has just improved as a fighter since the Alexander fight and gave Mayweather a TOUGH FIGHT.
No Excuses Needed, Make The Rematch And Leave No Room For Controversy This Time (EITHER FIGHTER)! I give respect to BOTH FIGHTERS!
Both get respect I agree. But seriously Shaefer yells rematch right after a fight..to a " threat " at that! C'mon!
My thoughts exactly. hell i wouldn't be surprised if they try to manufacture a trilogy similar to pac-marquez. Floyd knows he needs an opponent who would be reminded as having his number with him always overcoming adversity. Its just WWE tactics.
Seriously, why didn't he just box , he wanted to make it close.
You are saying Mayweather could have won much easier but he let Maidana do well for the sake of a rematch. Your theory is garbage and insulting to Maidana. Mayweather did his very best because he had to.
Yeah okay..if no rematch happens your right. But it will and it will be. Blow out.
That was my thought when I saw the post fight interview. Seemed like it the whole rematch announcement was not really organic, almost rehearsed. I think Mayweather backed into the ropes and stood in the pocket more than usual. I think he wanted to give the fans a much more exciting fight, which is admirable.
I don't want to take anything away from Maidana who stuck to his game plan and did what he needed to do to make it a tough fight. Maidana did well in fighting against the type of fight Mayweather fought. It was close but I see a rematch being a much more decisive victory for Floyd, similar to the Jose Luis Castillo rematch.
The only person out there to fight is Pac and that's why Floyd did what he had to do.
A dude who gets freaked out by taking punishment.......then ends up willingly taking punishment for the fans?
Why didn't he take punishment against Guerrero and Canelo?
Very simple. He still had possible future opponents during those fights. He said he would stand right in front of Guerrero and he did. Thanks for bringing up Canelo because Floyd moved all over the place with Canelo, he boxed and moved, if he does that with Chino it's an easy win..and boring...no rematch.:soapbox:
It had everything to do with the fact he's slower now there is a possibility he tried to not move as much purposely thinking Maidana would just swing crazy wild which he did but it'd was going to be easier to counter which it wasn't,also Chino was landing good bodyshots as well.

You are correct, it's not hard to see, I knew it since Robert said they have a rematch clause

You don't lay on the ropes and eat punches for fun. What about Floyds entire career leads you to believe he would mix it up for the fans?

Floyd looked embarrassed when he was sitting on the stool just like against Cotto after getting bloodied. Coincidence? Floyd's too mentally weak to give someone else credit for making him look bad.
