I always thought "Prince" was overrated, Barrera beat him mental & physically. I love the way he smashed his face into the corner, "Prince" deserved it he was a dirty fighter lol
Barrera and Morales were both full of excuses when they got blown out by Pacquiao. They're full of shit and so are their fans. No matter who Pacquiao beats, people will have an excuse for the loser. Rock on, Pinoys. The Mexicans can drown themselves in their tears for all I care.
I just got back from Vegas, so havent seen all the post fight vids, interviews... but what excuses did Morales make? He quit because he knew he couldn't beat him. And he told Larry Merchant that he was bested.
I'm mexican and a big fan of both fighters and very happy with the fight. Both went out and gave it their all and Pac blew Morales outta the water. As a fight fan im happy with the fight.
Word on the street is that Mora sparred a few sessions with Fernando's younger brother Roger. From what I hear Roger got the best of him, so I don't think Mora would last too long with Fernando (he still has enough in the tank to KO a few non-elite guys)
i guess this could be interresting.
Shot Fighter vs. The Pretender
Armenians always hating on the mexicans :bottle:
Fernando may be past his prime, but at least he faced elite talent.... wish I could say the same for the guys in your sig. :fing26:
Pac may be talented as a singer and boxer, but he needs to get a better attorney and accounting so he doesnt keep getting :3some:
Hey MAB went to law school, if he finishes his degree he could be Pac's new lawyer and beat him outside the ring also LOL
i remember fernando stating in an interview that he does not want his brother to fight....
He still spars from time to time just to keep in shape. As someone else mentioned his record is 1-0-1. He had natural talent and was a big puncher like his Fernando. If he been more dedicated he would have made noise.
"A friend of a friend" supposably has a video of the sparring session, i'll ask him to try and put it up on youtube.
Section 113, row 5, my friend and I OWN seats 5 & 6. Hopefully surrounded by Mexicans.
Very close to were im sitting, Section 120 row 3, seats 1 - 9.... me and my cousins hope to be the only mexicans in our area so we can do some :boxing:
We are very similar in culture, like Carlos Mencia said (even though he's not mexican but pretends lol) "we're both indigenousness people that got banged by Spaniards"
But Mexico has still produced more champs.
Forget Floyd, from this moment on im imposing sanctions on his ass and not purchasing a ticket, ppv event, or any product he endorses for at least a year.
Boycott Floyd!
I've met and hung out with Tyson a few times before and he is very cool, somewhat "down to earth" guy (or as as much as a celebrity of his status can be)
But when the fuck did he become a historian or have enough political influence to were anyone would give a fuck if he recognizes a genocide or not. :wtf:
Oscar has already established his place in boxing history. A fight with PBF is all about the money. Its the best option for Oscar, as he will probably sign PBF to his GoldenBoy Promotions, so if he wins he solidifies his place in history as one of the greats and if he loses to him he still promotes his next 2 or 3 fights and makes millions.
They both win the moment the contact is signed.
Tell me what the cross street with Ventura it was on and I'll believe you :)
Speaking of which, does anybody know where Toney trains?
Desoto
And to the dude that said I didnt see him, I have no proof but I really dont need any either. Like I said before; I saw him and came to the boards "bragging" a bit, that is all. Had I seen him at the gym or at a car dealer I would have said the same. I didnt talk shit nor put the man down. He looked fit, inshape and ready to kick ass.
well if you say you saw him then ill take your word for it. i just thought this was going to be another unintelligent "james toney is a fat ass blah blah" thread.
its cool you saw james...even better that he looked to be in good fighting shape. didn't mean to shit on your thread just misinterpreted the purpose of it.
if i didnt know who he was, I would have thought he was an athelete anyway. He isnt a toned guy, but you can tell from his build that he kicks ass for a living lol
i wore glasses, and i fought for years. But your dad is a punk for wanting you to box. I have a 3yr old son who loves boxing, but I would never let him go beyond training. Boxing is a great sport to work out and keep fit, but no way I would want my son to take punches to the head for a living.
He's a Heavyweight, though. He doesn't have to make weight. Toney's off the chain. He marches to the beat of his drum, and his drum only. I could see him saying "I want a whopper... fuck it".
good point, exactly what i thought when i saw him there.
i didnt post this to talk shit about him or anything. if anything im a big fan. I just wanted to "brag" a little and say i saw him. and like i said before, dude looked inshape.
Jorge Paez jr is a freaking animal in the ring. he has his father's balls but is also technical and strong.
JCC jr. is a little over-rated, but with the right training he can be a bigname.
I have to disagree with people saying this is going to be a boring fight. If Vargas doesnt run out of steam by the 3rd round I predict Shane will go down in 5
