Lightning doesnt strike twice..... tell that to Jose Luis Castillo. Knowing full well that Castillo failed to make weight again, do you still view his last minute effort of failing to make weight cheating. We all know what his doctor did by fooling with the scale. Knowing everything we know today, is castillo a cheater who knows he cant beat Diego at 135?
he's a fvkkin disgrace, might as well be called a cheater. he PURPOSELY DISRESPECTED the sport and the fans. how the fvck he wouldn't know he's over by 5lbs??? did he weigh himself on the moon???

he's not a cheater because he didnt make weight.....he simply sorry excuse for a boxer..
It was an advantage.
But if you consider that "cheating" then you must surely also consider the mouthpiece incident as cheating too right?
And by the way, I'm much more of a Diego Corrales fan than Jose Luis Castillo.
the mouthpiece incident was punished by takeing one point off corrales but not making the wieght twice is another story.
the difference is that he is paid to fight and accepted the deal on it. example of Morlas lossing to Pacman and then grumbles about wieght.
if you dont like the rules or you cant handle it then dont take it the deal simple as that
Dude needs to be suspended from boxing for at least a year. Poor sportmanship, and gives the sport a bad name.
Im not sure they can suspend him from the sport for a year.
I know they can do suspend him from fighting in Vegas but if I'm not mistaken, the Cotto/Castillo fight was to be held at the Garden in NYC. It will be interesting to see what unfolds.
and fighting with the weight advantage in the second fight is cheating

When your able to make weight in a specfic weight class over an extended amount of time and then miss it once, your mind still tells you that you can make it if you make some changes. I guess he made his and it still didn't work.
Doesn't matter who he had working for him, signing a contract and not sticking to it is UNPROFESSIONAL. Not CHEATING.

How is he unprofessional when he got all those people around him making sure he makes weight. Unless of course he knew he couldnt and still signed a contract. thats cheating

We are loyal people, but my stance remains the same.
He shouldn't be branded a "cheater."
Just VERY unprofessional for the time being.

Mexicans will always defend their fighters no matter how low they stoop. It's sickening.

And your point is? How does failing to make weight make him a cheater? If he was trying to conceal it, it is one thing. Besides, what is the big deal if he is a few pounds over? How many boxers out there make weight and come in 20 lbs heavier the next day? Does anyone accuse them of cheating?
He tried to conceal it.
Didnt you see the reports.
He claimed he was coming along fine.
IT WAS FIVE POUNDS OVER THE LIMIT.
THATS AN ENTIRE WEIGHT CLASS.
Id say its a pretty big deal.
And this was BEFORE the fight happened.
You make zero sense.
and in a fight how many time did castillo rabbit punch or lowblow?
he got time to loss his weight why couldnt he?
Corrales is old too and dont want to forcefuly retire in boxing
with serouis brain damage for match he got with a disadvantge for the second time. I would take the risk of hurting myself
Castillo did not cheat.I think that he thought he could make the weight and just couldn't.Hopefully his next move will be five pounds north to jr. welterweight.
It happens twice against the same fighter.

How could people be defending this guy when it is so evident that he did not try to make weight. Come on....Scale is not hard to find. HOw hard is it to check your weight everyday and make adjustment. he didnt overweight a measly 1 lbs or ounces that 5 lbs. HOw could you miss 5 lbs?

No, he just failed to make weight. It happens when you get older.
