LOL for a minute there i thought you are serious.
I think you're the idiot mate, Everybody on here understand what the status stands for but whether Vitali deserve to be given that status is the issue, At 37 yrs of age with 4 years of inactivity i dont see anything to be happy about, He gets injured and gets fight put back and we're suppose to be grateful according to you???
Until he comeback and actually done something meaningful then please STFU.
Thats exactly my point pal. This was a decision made AGES ago by WBC and only now all you morons start whining about it. I dont give a damn if he wins, loses or gets injured, but WBC gave him that status so thats the end of the argument so you can STFU. Or would you like to whine some more about "it's not fair" etc etc? Pathetic.
Exactly, I have disagreed with so many people about some many different post in the past but not once have i ever refer to someone else's opinion has idiotic or "Whining" like the poster refer to so many peoples post on here.
I dont mind been wrong but to protray people has idiot is out of line just because they dont share the same view as you.
Er dude, I think you'll find that YOU called ME an idiot and told me to STFU... so what do you call that??? Hypocracy? Not that I care in the slightest :)
So what is it exactly you're disagreeing with? The fact that WBC made VK Champion Emeritus? That by definition he's ENTITLED to a Title Shot? That there's nothing that's going to change it? These are FACTS.
If you got disagreements over results, fighters, styles, abilities, predictions etc then I got no problem with that, but this here is just whining about VK not deserving a title shot. It's got nothing to do with deserving it, he's ENTITLED to it as decreed by WBC years ago. Just get over it.
I think you would find out that you called everyone that didnt agree with your opinion of making Vitali the emeritius champion idiots.(Please refer to post 27)
I called you an idiot for calling people idiots, You kept harping on about what the emeritius means like you're the only one who understand what it stands for, WE ALL KNOW WHAT IT STANDS FOR mate...he just doesnt deserve to be GIVEN the status because he didnt do nothing for the WBC belt when he was the champ apart from lined the WBC crooks pocket with money.
Thats my and many peoples problem with it but i happy for us to see another talented HW in the division because the division is quite sad at the moment.
My OPINION about WBC making Vitali Champion Emeritus??? Haha its not my opinion pal. Its a fact. You you havent understood a word I've said have you?
you people are pathetic. do you understand what champion emeritus means? no? then I'll expalin, it means that the WBC honoured it's champion and bestowed upon him the ability to come back and challenge for the title if he should choose. This happened FOUR YEARS AGO people. Why didnt you all go round to the WBC offices and campaign if you feel so strongly about it. Sorry but youre all idiots. Stop whinging and be thankful we've got a meaningful HW fight for the first time in ages.
It wouldnt surprise me at all if there was foul play at hand. Thats how the world works. The rich and powerful use their power to get their way, and none as powerful in boxing as DLH!
BUT... if the scales were tampered with, there should be ALL the fighters weighing in 4lb light.
I must say i was VERY surprised that Oscar came in 2lb under the limit! WHY??? He's drained himself more than necessary, and his size is his advantage, so the bigger the better. It's either a terrible mistake by his handlers, or maybe the scales WERE 2lb light... who knows.
Either way, PAC will be 143ish at fight time, and Oscar will be about 152 after rehydrating etc. So, with strength, weight, height and SIX inch reach advantage, he SHOULD win easily... I dont think it will be easy though... PACMAN is here to fight!
Rahman, a former HW Champion who knocked out Lennox Lewis you mean? As opposed to a complete NOBODY! I think you need a few more than 1 Pro win to challenge the HW Champion HAHAHA!
Klitchkos dont duck anybody. Anyone who DESERVES a shot, gets their wish. Be careful what you wish for...
Sanders was a huge heavyweight puncher, with more power than Haye IMO.
On a number of occasions Sanders hit Vitali clean with a shot that disposed of alot of other heavyweights- including Wlad. Vitali took the shot, kept a clear head, and avoided further blows very well. Then proceeded to batter him viciously. So I see Haye not able to hurt Vitali, in fact it will be a replay of the Sanders fight in all likelyhood. Except Haye does have the chin of Sanders. Haye dangerous early but Vitali KO5.
Hatton has underrated boxing skills. he is no joke by any means. It took along time for me to come around to liking Hatton. Mostly because of alot of British boxing fans, I couldnt stand it when he won fights. But i got to admit that he is a danger to Pacman. I think Pac will win, but a Hatton win is not out of the question. Edge in speed to Pac, edge in Power to Hatton i reckon.
this fight is 60-40 in Pac's favour, as i think he will land more clean punches.
Haye is just hyping to make the most money possible. He knows if he fights legit HW contenders he will get relatively small paychecks, lose fights and never get a shot at a big payday. His only chance is to hype himself NOW and get in the ring with a Klitschko. He has about a 1% chance to beat either brother, but he will make a fortune doing it. Its just business.
Unlike other people though, I think he has more chance against Vitali, as his reflexes are slowing down considerably. Wlad is in his prime and no-one is even close to his league at the moment. Good move by Haye to fake injury and go for Vitali IMO.
Well then that is blind hate. Every word you've just said. All that stuff about him being cocky, not humble, dismissive of his own faults, etc. is all subjective - to me he does seem humble, willing to learn more each fight and rise up as much as he's allowed to. You obviously don't think so, but there's nothing behind your posts which can be touted as fact. No objectiveness. Just opinion. A really bitter, hating one. :wnk1:
So you dismiss someones opinions as hating, so am I allowed to dismiss yours as nuthugging by the same logic?
As someone who's followed Wlad for a very long time, this is quite a hard question. Overall Wlad did a good job I think, Thompson is a big, tough genuine heavyweight who would have a very good chance against any of the other Title holder. Wlad was never in any danger of losing the fight, he was never hurt, had a huge points lead and eventually got the big KO.
HOWEVER, I feel that Emmanuel Steward is making Wlad into a WORSE fighter! I understand that Wlad took a hammering against Sanders therefore some adjustments were needed, but all this clinching and holding that Steward is making him do is counter-productive. Pre-Sanders Wlad would have had Thompson out in less than 6 rounds because he would have kept pressure on and tried to keep landing hard shots instead of tying up all the time. Wlads patience is great for winning fight by easy decision or late TKO in boring fashion, but it's not exciting anymore. We need a heavyweight destroyer, somone who can detonate. Wlad USED to be that guy but Steward is no good for Wlad in my opinion.
So to summarise this performance was a + from his last performance, but a - from his potential and Pre-Sanders performances. I think Vitali should train Wlad and teach him how to go for the kill...
UNOFFICIAL PUNCHSTATS
Joe Calzaghe threw 2538 and landed 17
Roy Jones threw 17 and landed 4
This fight and the outcome was so predictable it was just plain pathetic. The last man to see Roy Jones was John Ruiz. Roy is totally over the hill. Calzaghe is just a slapping cardio machine. There was no quality in this fight whatsoever. Poor. Just poor.
I cant believe what a cheap shot Kimbo takes at Adrian at the end, the guy had clearly given up and turned away, not defending himself. What a hero ... i mean loser.
After seeing the weigh-in and open training session, I humbly eat my words. Vitali DOES look in great shape and his hand-eye co-ordination looked pretty sharp too. WAR Vitali!
I'd really, really like to see you take that kind of beating from a 6'8" giant and find out how many rounds it would take you to "quit".
Im not the Heavyweight Champion who claims to be a badass! The yardstick to measure him by is not by civilians but by his peers. Not one SINGLE opponent of Vitali's has quit. That makes Sam Peter pathetic.
Your post reeks of hypocrisy.
Thanks for your comment, however stupid it may be. There are huge differences between the 2 incidents which i clearly stated. Go read again pal.
Everyone alive knows Vitali will kick Lewis's ass INCLUDING Lennox Lewis, thats why he retired in the first place. Lewis knows he got insanely lucky the first time, a rematch will never ever happen.
The Klitschko's destroyed his punch resistance, making it easier for others to do this to him. Nice shots by Helenius tho. Would like to see him Fight a klitschko now.
I this Wlad and Tyson are both tremendous fights but they are very very different.
People feared Tyson for sure, he was intimidating as a personality as well as a fighter. People were afraid of his viciousness but I think alot of people didnt avoid him because they thought they could handle him by boxing him and keeping him at distance with the jab, ala Lennox. Only in his prime that was impossible to do because of his incredible defense. His defense was what set up his offense and was highly underrated.
Wlad on the other hand... people know they really only have a punchers chance and they are going to take 9-12 rounds of a savage beating. People are afraid of this.
Ask yourself... would you rather be knocked out in one or 2 rounds Tyson-style, or be savagely pulverised by a battering ram jab for 10 and THEN knocked out Wlad-style?
Most would go for option 1 and thats why Wlad is being avoided. Fighting Wlad (or Vitali) means a long sustained battering that will reduce your punch resistance for the rest of your career.
HAHAHAHAHAH "delusions of grandeur!" HAHAHAHAHAHA. omg. im blushing so bad for brit fans right now. . .
i watched with itialian commentary (i dont know any!) and i had Wlad winning 116-110. Haye wa on the back foot doing nothing for 98% of the fight. Psssy.
169 posts in 7 years ? WTF ?
Haha, yeah dude :) I usually only post if I have something i really have to say. Reading your guys arguments is pretty entertaining on its own.
In fact an actual study was done- I remember reading it somewhere but I dont have all the details.
It basically rated sports on how demanding they were in terms of:
SPEED
STRENGTH
STAMINA
HAND-EYE COORDINATION
and they conculded that boxing was the most demanding sport. And stated that it's the hardest sport to succeed in because you need to be near perfect on every count.
Wierdly F1 racing driving was near the top of the list too
:S
Hopkins head, because it does this.

Damn, does Winky have some nice teeth thought.
Agreed but cuts heal, punching to the back of the head is brain damage material... and Sam Peter never gets warned either. He should be outright disqualified for it in my opinion.
