The Klitschko's destroyed his punch resistance, making it easier for others to do this to him. Nice shots by Helenius tho. Would like to see him Fight a klitschko now.
the heavyweight division is a ****ing disgrace! i dont care what none of you clit nuthuggers tell me. worse division by far. it has never ever been this bad. wow!
thats pretty accurate, his chin was considered very good. He is a perfect example of a guy who is damaged and needs to step away before he takes more damage. Those shots he was hit with looked to be the type of shots he walked through to give his opponents worse when he was in his prime.
Nah, he would always have been knocked out with those shots. They were perfect, short counter punches. Just the type to KO someone. Peter has been hurt and knocked down by lesser shots than that previously, so it's not that much of a surprise or shouldn't be.
He did have a granite chin for a while. He fought both klitscho's without getting hurt taking flush shots to the face for breakfast but like all things chins get chipped like stone and crack which Wladmir did in the 2nd fight.

Sam Peter may be the worst boxer that ever lived and Im not even exaggerating.
He should go train in MMA where he might be able to use his Power against guys who are equally talentless at boxing.
What about Tony Galento?

I would like to see Arreola vs Helenius. Helenius has earned the right to fight a top contender next. It is still too early to consider a fight with one of the Klitsckos or Haye.
Arreola would be a good opponent for the aggression he brings. Thompson or Dimitrenko might even be a good opponent to give Hellboy experience of taller fighters. He should stay the hell away from Chambers though, that's a very risky fight.
Let's also hope he fights the undefeated Pulev at some point as well.

I remember back in like 2004/2005/2006 when all boxing fans said Sam Peter was the HW Saviour and would beat Klitschko's
:S
lol, and as for Helenius. People keep doubting him but every performance he looks sharp and keeps proving people wrong.
I like Helenius. He has an interesting style and deceptive power. I wasnt surprised he took out Peter tonight, although I thought it would be a 'quit TKO' instead of such a nasty KO.
Needs to work on his defense and footwork a little, maybe overall quickness as well, but I think he could do quite well in the division.
What?
Im not saying he had a ****ty chin or anything, and McCline is a pretty big puncher, but the man wasnt exactly an unstoppable force.
Coming into fights out of shape certainly doesnt help his punch resistance.
he had a busted eardrum in that fight, which i believe.
I called it as a late TKO so I was off by a T.
Very impressive knockout of a solid experienced fighter in Peter. Whatever Helenius's faults he can bang, might possibly, in fact, be the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division. His footwork was good for the most part, and he was picking his power shots well. I still think his jab looks a bit weak and he let Peter get on the inside too much. In future he needs to learn to tie guys up effectively or pivot them off to the side, the way Lennox used to do. And if he's going to fight so stiff backed, he really needs to ram that jab into opponents' faces not just paw it out there. If this sounds like I'm being harsh it's just because I believe this guy has the potential to be a real live contender and would like to see him develop into the best he can be.
Pretty good fight though, all told. Predictably, people are now calling Peter a bum, that he's finished etc. Wouldn't surpise me if someone called him glass jawed as well. It would've been nice to have seen Peter come in in better condition, but he was doing some good work in there, bobbing his head and attacking aggressively when he had Helenius's back against the ropes. His limit's pretty much been reached though, and he's now little more than the Edison Miranda of the heavyweight division.
One more thing, I can't believe Helenius is only 230 something pounds. He dwarfed the very stocky Peter in there.
damn hes shot...he used to have a granite chin

This guy is a prospect? How old is this dude? He looks like he is a few birthdays shy of his 40th.
he turned 27 this year
make helenius-povetkin in helsinki and there will be 10 000 people :boxing:
that is funny because when i watched it i said," wow, nice tight hook, he kept on the inside without flaring his elbow and had his hips behind it " referring to the first one....
and the second one that stopped the fight was even better with more leverage behind it.........
learn proper mechanics and know what they look like before making such skewed comments, those left hooks look like his natural punch........ ie, more power than expected from the looks of them......
Precisely. That was an excellent shot. The first hook was the second punch of a combo where the uppercut missed but the second, and hardest, punch of the combo landed perfectly and Peter went down hard.
That looked kinda fake.
The uppercut missed and...
Helenius didn't get any leverage on that final hook.
