Pacquiao weirded by weigh-in difference

MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao was sure he was at 146 pounds for the final weigh-in.
So it surprised him to see he came out four pounds lighter.
Pacquiao tipped the scales at 142 pounds, way off the weight he and his team were expecting.
"Yes, a little bit of a surprise. Seems the scale got calibrated," Freddie Roach told Manila-based journalists inside the press room on Friday after the weigh-in.
Shortly after the weigh-in, Pacquiao went back to his room and used a different scale. He came in at 145.5 pounds, the same weight he had in the morning after breakfast, according to Roach.
Pacquiao was amazed at the difference, disclosing the night before and just an hour before the official weigh-in that he both checked in at 146 pounds.
"I didn't do anything to reduce weight, so I don't know why I came in at 142?" Pacquiao said. "It's hard to be suspicious but as you can see, there's a difference between how I weighed out there and here."
Pacquiao said if there was a four-pound difference between his two "weigh-ins", it could be the same for de la Hoya. "So does that mean Oscar was at 149 pounds?"
A clause in the contracts signed by both Pacquiao and de la Hoya will have de la Hoya paying a $3-million penalty for every excess pound over 147 pounds.
Pacquiao said he didn't want to make a big deal out of the situation. "I don't want to make that an excuse for whatever happens."
Roach agreed.
"Maybe the scale … I'm not sure. But I'm not accusing anything (sic)," said Roach, who incidentally, also got a positive response from the Nevada State Athletic Commission later in the day, allowing the use of one-inch tape for the boxer's hands instead of two inches.
"But it really doesn't matter to me," he added. "The fight's on. The fight's here."
He doesn't have a world class body though, hopkins already proved that with a weak punch to the body that ko'd oscar :boxing:
Ever been hit directly on the liver?
funny how some people here are talking like GBP is not cable of cheating lol
hello!..remember Lawrence Cole's phantom KD call on Pac v Barrera (under gbp) 1, Barrera's 1st win over Juarez.....the following day!? wtf? Felix Sturm robbery.
yes, but all the other fighters weighed in just fine and we didn't see anyone adjust the scale inbetween that time and the time Oscar weighed in or Manny.. nore after the rest of the undercard weighed in.
funny how some people here are talking like GBP is not capable of cheating lol

You don't work out do you? You can gain that back in a day. 5 or 6 pound is just water.
As I said, I would be surprised about him losing that much weight in 1 training session at that point.
and four others came at about the limit.....
your excuses FAIL....
exactly... I think Roach and Manny are just making shit up because they are not confident they'll win.. first it's the tape, then the scale, then it's going to be Oscar wearing the wrong color trunks, etc
excuses excuses.. how come none of the other fighters had a problem with the scale??
The scale remained visible to the audience and to the cameras at all times too..
If infact it was rigged they would of had to rig it after everyone else made weight because then it would have ****ed their weigh in up by 4 pounds. NO ONE had any problems with the scale..
It wouldnt surprise me at all if there was foul play at hand. Thats how the world works. The rich and powerful use their power to get their way, and none as powerful in boxing as DLH!
BUT... if the scales were tampered with, there should be ALL the fighters weighing in 4lb light.
I must say i was VERY surprised that Oscar came in 2lb under the limit! WHY??? He's drained himself more than necessary, and his size is his advantage, so the bigger the better. It's either a terrible mistake by his handlers, or maybe the scales WERE 2lb light... who knows.
Either way, PAC will be 143ish at fight time, and Oscar will be about 152 after rehydrating etc. So, with strength, weight, height and SIX inch reach advantage, he SHOULD win easily... I dont think it will be easy though... PACMAN is here to fight!
whichever way, oscar will be putting on weight between the weigh in and the fight so it really makes little difference, the size difference will make the fight unfair whether the scaels were fiddled with or not, we all know that
I'm sure quite a few of us can name plenty fights where one guy had a huge advantage of height, reach, or experience in higher weight classes, yet still lost. Boxing is not about size. Never has been and never will be. Don't count Manny out tonight!

He will lose, there are no surprises here, trust me. Boxing's rate of predictability is far greater than mma's and if this was an mma bout I'd still bet on Oscar to win. The size difference is enormous and Oscar should be arrested for picking on smaller men consistently like that: Floyd, a natural 135 pounder, Pacquiao and next is Hatton. I'm so glad Floyd whooped that fagg's ass because i don't think Pacquiao or Hatton can do it. The weight scandal is the last drop, I'M NOT BUYING. If there aren't any streams i won't watch it. Period
The obvious pick should be Oscar because of the size difference.
But I wouldn't totally count out Pac.
He has a chance here and personally,I wouldn't be surprised if he wins.
I don't need to make excuses, CaRRRRRlos!
Everyone expects Pac to lose cause we all know Osgay is too big for him.

de la hoya has a world class chin

2 of the other fighters came in way below their weight limit too... i forget which ones
