Mayweather
Martinez
Marquez
Pacquiao
W Klitschko
V Klitschko
Gamboa
Ward
Bradley
Rigondeaux
i was very tempted to put Rigondeaux in my list, no doubt he probably the most talented fighter on the planet, just opposition at the moment but after 9 fights you cant hold that against him, within 3 fights he will be there, shame age is not on his side otherwise we would be looking at a potential ATG!
Khan will beat most guys at 140 just off of being the bigger guy. He has a C level skill set that won't get revealed too much at 140. But... once he moves up to 147, his career will start going down hill. Especially if they throw him in with the elite. If GoldenBoy is smart, they will keep him fighting B and C level opposition at 147. They will make tons of money. But, they will have to make drastic changes in his corner for him to be able to compete with the elite.I think Roach needs to go. He is definitely overrated. He does a great job training his fighters to beat guys that are tailor made for them, but when they fight skilled topnotched guys, he can't make the adjustments. PEDs or not, Khan did not utilize the right fight plan to beat Peterson. This will also be exposed in Manny's fight with Bradley. If Bradley takes his punch, it will be a long night for Manny.
Styles make fights and Khan has a style that will give fighters hell early. At this stage, he could possibly pull off an upset against a 35 year old Mayweather by hitting and running for 12 rounds. But a pressure fighter that can slip punches and bang his body will beat him everytime. Once he's stationary or against the ropes, he's very ordinary. Maybe below ordinary.
He needs a trainer that will show him how to use his height and reach. He needs to throw the jab with more power and consistency. He needs to get away from those amateurish flurries and start sitting on his punches. He needs to throw the right hand through the target and not just at it. He needs to develope a much better hook and uppercut. He is far behind in his progress. He has already peaked with Roach. He will get no better. Can Roach truthfully teach him defense? He hasn't with Manny after all these years. He just needs an old school trainer to teach him the basics of boxing. The ability is definitely there or he would have never became a world champion. But he's at a stage where he will being fighting elite fighters. He has the tools but not the skill level to get the job done.
Might sound crazy, but if I was his manager, I would seek Floyd Mayweather SR or someone like Buddy McGirt. These guys are great trainers but don't have anyone in their camp with Khan's ability. They would make each other great. With Khan's physical abilities and heart, if his skill level increased, he would be an extremely dangerous fighter. He could be an English version of Terry Norris. But honestly, I never see it happening. By the time he realizes he needs a new trainer, he will have endured too many unnecessary wars and will be on the downside of his career.
I agree with this, Manny Steward would be perfect for Khan
Pavliks career as a top level fighter is over, and if he wants to keep earning paydays fighting bums he needs to stay the hell away from the likes of Carl Froch, it would be criminal to make this fight and if Arumagedon agreed to it he should be charged with accessory to murder!
Pavliks never been the same since B-Hop schooled him and on top of that the guy is a drunk, granted Kelly did a better job on Taylor than Froch but since then Carl has got better and Pavlik has got a hell of a lot worse.
Floyd UD, but i could certainly see nelson giving him hell and winning some rounds in the end though the footwork and hand speed that Floyd had at 130 would be the deciding factor.
ever heard of reading b/w the lines smartass
just b'c Avlik has gone downhill doesn't mean he can't regain his composure - only time will tell if he can.....and if Avlik looks good again, a Forch fight would be one hell of a matchup -
Reading between the lines on what, its like me posting Mayweather would beat Maidana its obvious pointless and a waste of space and for the life me i cant understand why you felt the need to post it, you must be one of those people who just talks for the sake of it, who needs to be part of a conversation even if you have nothing worthwhile to say,
and back on topic Pavlik is a spent force, right now he would struggle against the likes of Allen Green, there is no way on this earth he should be put in the ring with the likes of Froch!
Andre Ward, even hearing his name makes me yawn, the guys just so ****ing boring, personality, style, nickname, he will never be a big star despite his obvious skill's shame really such talent wasted on such a boring twat!
Frank Warren, Cleverley's promoter offered the fight to Froch after he lost to Ward and also said on Saturday prior to the fight that offer still stood if froch lost to Bute, after the fight i'm not so sure they would want it.
I agree with this! I've often thought about how good it would be if there was a top class boxer from Leeds fighting a big fight in Elland Road. I'm from Leeds and go to the football there but a big fight with the Elland Road atmosphere behind one of our own would be class! Even better than our Champions League nights were.
I spent 4 years a Leeds Uni and attended a few soccer games, sorry football, the people of Leeds were so passionate about there sport, i will never forget Elland Road i watch a lot of the premier league on TV and nothing comes close!
British fans. I'm British and I love a good, loud, steamed British sports crowd.
We are thee most deafening fans in the world.
Shame Leeds doesn't have a top class fighter, there is no atmosphere like Elland Road would be awsome to see them behind a top fighter!
Initially I did not see Froch vs. Bute, but my god people went crazy about Frochs victory. "Vicious Froch rules the 168's" and stuff like that were said afterwards and so I decided to see it.
:wtf: A DISAPPOINTMENT!
It was a total street fight with way to much hitting Bute in the back head in round one and two.
It was obvious that Bute had only fought opposition, where he did not need to keep his hands up, and thus couldn't figure out to do it, when the opposition started hitting back.
Much have been said about Frochs enormous power, but how the f U C k could he not finish Bute in round 3 with all those power punches delivered right to the temple of Bute?
How could Bute keep trying to hit Froch in the side (of the body) with the right hand (with his left hanging down), when Carls left arm was in the way and thus made it possible for Carl to hit with the right at will? What an amateur.
How could Bute not get his southpaw jab going with the left hook for support, when everybody could see, that was what he needed to do?
I - myself a Froch fan - got to say, that Froch did what he needed to do, but a punching bag would have offered more resistance and I have to say, that neither Ward nor Kessler or Dirrell would have been defeated by the "vicious" Froch, that beat Bute.
I kept saying, that Kessler should have taken Bute on for a lesser purse, 'cuz he could then be the one to expose him, but now Froch did it and good for him. He very much needed the win, but let's not get carried away. Froch fought much better against both Pascal, AA and Kessler imo.
Cool story bro, got any more?
Carl Froch fights just like Sugar Ray Leonard, watch both closely you notice they have very similar footwork, if anything i would say Froch is a bit quicker!:haha::haha::haha::haha:
If Froch had turned pro with a decent promoter and been built up properly im sure he would be a huge star now but at 35 years old i fear its too late for him to reach superstar level in the UK, its a shame cause he is a true warrior and should be a national treasure but Mick Hennesey ****ed up the early part of his career!
You think Fat Dan was wrong, Dwyer believed Bute would've whupped Froch but post-fight he never gives Froch complete credit.
Yup, you're right Dwyer. Bute would've won if Froch didn't punch him back.
Fat Dan and Dwyer set of clowns who know **** all
actually... bute head movement was good... he could've used better foot movement, but he was being the aggressor and so he couldn't turn froch as he was stalking froch
I thought froch was slapping more than usual... I don't think he was closing his fists to get a little more speed on his punches
I never thought bute would beat froch easily, cause bute never been in the ring with the kind of competition that froch has... but I thought bute would do a lot better than this.
The Kessler rematch would be a good scrap to watch, but I don't wanna see him fight AA again.
Froch should fight Ward again, but not on the West Coast... maybe in Nottingham... Ward is a world champ... not a Oakland champ.
Sergio martinez??? Sergio is too small... and Froch can't get to 164.
Froch could easily make 164, could easily make 160, but would never happen anyway sergio would rather call out much smaller men but would not dream of fighting anyone slightly bigger,
Anyways Kessler vs Froch II thats what its all about!
Andre Ward might be the man in the division but he will never be a superstar, he will never put bums on seats outside of his home town, granted he is a very talented fighter but he just isnt marketable and know one gives a **** about him despite losing to Ward Froch is the man at 168
I think he has, but he will never get the credit he deserves. Froch was badly mishandled earlier in his career where as Calzaghe was built into a superstar in the UK, i really hope this turns the Cobra into a household name cause nobody deserves it more
Pavlik would KO Froch.
You mad? a prime Tommy Hearns would not K.O Froch, never mind a drunk whose career is in tatters, mabye if Pavlik can get his life together and string a few decent wins together i could see the fight happening and froch winning a very entertaining fight but at this moment in time its all about Froch vs Kessler II
