What's the beef with Amir Khan and Carl Froch?
Any one know how it started and over what?
I know that Hatton and Haye all support Khan.
I think they both support Haye as well.
Britts are suppose to be stay together..maybe Khan tried to hit on his fiance? hah
Froch doesn't really like any British fighters apart from himself lol, He feels like Khan hasnt paid his dues with all the attention/money that he (Khan) gets but you get what comes your way, Am sure Khan would say him traveling around at 15-16 to get qualification for the Olympics and then being the only british boxer good enough to qualify and represent our country at the Olympics is paying his dues.
I like Froch ALOT....but he's obviously jealous of AK....and you're absolutely on point with AK having a damn good argument for when it comes to anybody claiming he hasn't payed his dues :fing02:
Froch shagged Khan's mum.
woah. if they didnt use protection then surely there is a future for british boxing. great speed AND iron chin, thats one bairn you wont slap in a hurry.
Khan got famous too quick, when his personality was still developing (18 year olds are hardly full formed human beings). People loved khan when he first started, and he seemed a likeable gung ho lad back in the day, a real go getter of sport. He won the British personality award back then, and even the Labour party paraded him as a shining example of their 'immigration policy' (lol, since he is by birth English). Something changed, he got famous too early and it must have went to his head - he occasionally started saying things and doing things that seemed too ego based, which got more frequent. Albeit he was backing it up with acheivements light years ahead of any british boxer aged under 25. Dangerous driving didnt help his case, and hes now branded, a little unfairly, but with some justification, an example impetuous egotistic, error strewn youth. Add to that, the change in the heavily populated South-east of Britain away from supporting more open immigration policies, and suddenly being classed as an outstanding foreigner (again, LOL) isnt such a hip thing.
Froch was largely unknown outside Nottingham for a long long time. World wide fame, and I suspect even the desire to perform on the world stage, came very late for him. Its all come late enough for his character to adapt to, so fame wont hardly affect him negatively. Hes matured, but Khan was still maturing when the fame hit him.
Plenty of myths here as well, Khan has no real fanbase in the UK or the USA thats why he doesnt fight here much anymore and in the States they have to give tickets to his fights away for free just to fill the arena to make the TV coverage look better. The majority of people i know dislike him and want to see him KOed everytime he gets in the ring. Froch on the other hand has been a slow burner with Boxing fans but now due to him constantly fighting the best and his never give up style he has gradually built up a big following on both sides of the pond. I bet if a poll was done who you would prefer to watch fight live Froch or Khan the Cobra would come out overwhelming winner.
Quite simply, Froch is just a jealous bitter man.
And he always has been. Not just with Khan.
It started off with Calzaghe first. He practically got on his knees and opened his mouth begging for a fight with Calzaghe but at the time it was just not worth if for Calzaghe, as even though Froch must have been around 30, barely anyone knew who he was.
Then he moved onto Khan when Calzaghe retired. After Breidis KO'd Khan, Froch kicked him whilst he was down saying stuff like Khan will never be a world level fighter or something like that and saying sh1t about his chin.
He's also thrown a few digs at David Haye in the past.
All in all he's just a jealous man, as still he's not a household name in the UK whilst Khan and Haye are.
Whilst some of you may say rightly so, i agree he should be a household name but why is he taking it out on his fellow brit fighters?
How about taking it out on whoever the **** was promoting him before Eddie Hearn? As whoever it was they did a god awful job.
I can kind of understand where he is coming from. But...... He should have got with a decent promoter at first. I think he was with Hennesey who is terrible!!!!!!!!!!!
YOu cant really blame Khan for taking all the ££ he can if being offered. But on the other hand Froch as a fighter still deserves it way way more! All in all Froch is still a multi Millionaire so will not go short for the rest of his life.
Froch does nothing but tell it like it is.
When it comes to Khan, that truth is simply something Khan fans dont want to hear and in turn it comes across as 'hating' as they put it. It's not hating, it's simply telling it for what it is.
The difference between the two is that Froch is intelligent and articulate which allows him to speak on a situation and do it well. Khan is the opposite, inarticulate and quite frankly, an idiot.
Froch said something about Khans glass chin after he got knocked out against Prescott, Khan took it funny held a grudge against Froch for it.
When Froch lost to Kessler Khan came out with this ridiculous statement.
“I think he should hang up his gloves and work for me. I’ll get him a job with Khan Promotions to put up posters. Froch got his a—whooped against a fighter who*Joe Calzaghe*beat easily. Froch always had a lot to say and talked trash about fighters, including me. What goes around comes around.”
An unoriginal classless comment, like losing by first round knock out to an unknown in your back yard is equal to losing a close decision to a solid champion in there back yard.
Lol, this thread suggest's Froch is a jealous noob, I think he's probably said a few things (along time ago) which were probably taken out of context, we all know boxers have little digs here and there at opponents and other boxers, its part of the game.
I think someone actually said Froch was boring to watch....wtf! Is it possible someone can think that of Froch?
Froch's mistake was that he didn't fight on sky sports early in his career though he did fight on itv a lot of the time which is more exposure than sky sports all his super 6 fights were on a tv channel that had barely any viewers which was bad because they were some of his most significant
This beef was years ago - but to be fair to Frock he was right and that Khan's chin would fail him as soon as he got hit on it.
Froch loses and fight's 168lb #1 or #2 in Lucian Bute and smashes him to pieces.
Khan loses and fights a tiny little lightweight.
Not hating, just displaying the cold hard facts.
And it was Khan that started it. Bragging how he could sell more tickets in Nottingham than Froch can from what i can remember on this very video section.
I see a video years ago in which Pro Fighters was commenting on Khan...Froch did not have kind words about Khan, questioned his toughness and his chin or something like that, not sure if that video is still up on youtube, I tried to find it but couldn't but it was a video in which Mayweather, Froch and others was commenting on Khan and his Potential I guess
Maybe that is what sparked it...I DON'T KNOW!
But I also think Froch may have felt the same way as other fans felt..."WHY IS THIS GUY GETTING SO MUCH HYPE AND HE HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING IN BOXING"
He also has thrown lil digs at Haye after the Klits saying how he fought tentative and if that was him size wouldn't matter he'd go out on his shield (which he would) and then would never have shown his toe. Why not just support your so called mate?
That's called keeping it real.
