Id pick cotto over Hatton at both weights.
People said cotto was made for hatton because he stand in front of you,but its the otherway around IMO,I think its hattons come forward style that would play into cotto's hands.
I agree 100% here. I think cotto beats Hatton at 40 and 47. Cotto is just a better fighter all-around, and his punching power is better also.
De La Hoya will pay Mosley extra to take a dive.
This will make Tito/De La Hoya II huge.
If Tito knocks him out, it'll make people believe in Tito again.
Can he knock him? It all depends on how his hand is wrapped.
SSM talking a dive is funny I don't think he would ever do that. Now the fight woudl be at 160, Tito has said that's his weight and not a pound less, SSM already said he could come in at 157-158 no problem. Now do you really think that the wrapping of the hands had a real effect? Even Hopkins said that it was mind playing game againt Trinidad. I personally don't think that the hand wraping has any effect.
Now I personally think that Tito is making a mistake wanting to fight at 160. I think he was much better at 154, more speed and power but that's just me.
Oscar offer a 60/40 to Floyd? I don't think so. ODLH offerd 70/30 to trinidad. Do you think Floyd will bring more people to the seats than Trinidad? No, if he offers more than that to Floyd then he will face the why did you offer less to Tridad where you scared? For this reason I don't think Oscar would offer anymore than 30% to Floyd if not offer less just to make a point.
"what has he done to deserve to be in the ring with me?" (nothing, oscar, he is just unbeaten, 5 times champ in 4 divisions, 3 times lineal. I am sure Mayorga deserved it much more after his impressive showings against Spinks and Tito ...)
The second Tito put the wooping on Mayorga, Mayorga became target #1, as usual he needs to fight Tito's left overs.
Cotto wins by late KO at 140, by early KO at 147. Either way, Hatton would stand little chance.
I agree here 100% I think cotto is just better than hatton on everything other than clinching.
Mosley wont fight Cotto. He wants Mayweather and thats it.
When Mosley said that he was back coming to the 147 division, he said he wanted to fight Cotto. If my memory is correct, there was an article where Shane asked to fight Cotto and Arum said that Cotto had to do his mandatory first, and then offered a fight with margarito instead. Cotto vs Mosley could be made if Arum and Oscar put their differences away from this.
Here are my 2 cents, I think mosley did dominate Collazo. I can't find more than 2 rounds to give to collazo. So by winning 10 rounds, in my book that is domination.
I am a Cotto fan, so I voted for Cotto. I think that he has the tools to win. I am wondering how Zab will react to Cotto's power. But I will not be surprised if Zab get the win. Zab is quick as hell, has good power. I would be interested on how big the ring is for this fight.
I think this was part of the deal, Oscar says, hey you want to fight me? Here we go, I make 75% of the fight, on top of that, your feb date is there no more, I will take that too and give it to SSM and last you keep your mouth shut until I tell you that you are allowed to speak.
That is an interesting comparison, but I think that a more accurate representation would be Oscar vs Tito. But in this case PBF will be the one riding the hayabusa. Mayweather will play the role that Oscar played in the fight with Tito and Oscar will play the Tito role. I can't see Mayweather going blow for blow with Oscar, and if PBF keeps an advantage on speed, this will be a runing game with soft shots from PFB and moving away to win on points. Now if the extra weight slows PFB down then I can't see him wining the fight.
The way I see it, There are 3 fights that I would consider dangerus for Cotto out of the list, PBF, SSM and Zab. I think that Cotto will get the win againt Zab, but I am not putting any money on this, I like Zab a lot, his is fast and packs a punch. SSM is one of my all time favorites, and I think this would be a good fight. PBF is just to fast for Cotto, we would have to see how PBF would handle the pressure and strengh from Cotto.
Now on to the names I think Cotto would prevaile without too much problem, I will just name a few.
Margarito, wide punches, and pretty slow. Cotto will get on the inside faily easy and the fight is over.
Hatton, look at his last fight, got hit with a good body shot (Cottos specialty), and started clinching for the rest of the fight. I like Hatton, but I like Cotto a lot better.
Collazo, does not have the pop to stop Cotto coming for him. Cottos agression on this fight alone would win it for him.
Those are my thought for now, let me know what you think.
he fought urkal because he knows better than to go after floyd, margarito, or mosley...lets not forget about paul williams, or if he really wants a shot at the title he'd have to actually fight a PUNCHER in berto, something that won't happen.
Lets have a look at what you wrote here. He fought urkal because Urkal was his mandatory, the same mandatory that to step aside money so Cotto could have a chance to fight for the title, this is called in Puerto Rico "mantener tu palabra" keeping his word of fighting him.
Floyd, are you serius? Floyd is fighting DLH on may 5th so please stop talking crap here.
SSM, Now here is a fight that I would love to see, and as the Judah fight I think Cotto has a chance to loose more so than others. But once again, you put Cotto in a seat that he has no control over. GBP and their little fight with Top Ranks over Manny are making things difficult to make a fight with fighters from these two camps. Before this feud, SSM had mentioned Cotto, after his win over Collazo I have not heard a real call out from SSM to Cotto, wich to me is odd.
Margarito, guess what? Cotto offered the june 9th date to margarito and who pulled out of the fight (that was to everyone on the side lines a done deal)? no it was not Cotto it was Margarito, so once again you have nothing to say here. Cotto steped up, offered the fight and Margarito went to fight Williams for less money.
Paul Williams, he is fighting Margarito. You can talk about fighting Williams after he fights Margarito. If he wins then and only then can a fight between these fighters can be talked about.
Berto, Can't say much about him, cuz I have seen only 1 fight from him, but I am sure that there are more recognized names for Cotto that are better for his carrer at this moment than Berto and hit just as hard SSM comes to mind.
In conclution please get your facts straight before making opinions that have no relevance at this point.
why wouldnt you buy this fight? its the biggest in fight in god knows how long, nobody can complain its ppv after all the shitty fights they had on ppv recently
Easy I didn't want to give my money to those greedy bastards, I was planning on waiting for the re-play and not contribute to the ppv crap, but I guess there will be a big party in my house come may 5th damm I hate HBO, making me spend more money jejejejje
You know what? I am a Miguel Cotto fan, but to anyone who thinks that the Judah fight is easy, you guys need to think again. Zab is faster, way faster, his defence is better and he packs a punch. What else would you like to see in a fighter? Sure he gets a bit discurage at times but that doesn't change the fact that he has tremendus fighting skills.
I for one will be rooting for Cotto but would not be suprized if Zab wins. I think if Cotto is able to cut the ring, improve his defence and show Zab that he is not going anywhere, I think he can win this. On the other hand Zab is able to establish distance and set the tempo with his in/out style this could be a bad night for Cotto.
I will agree for now on most of these... Will you still think that all of them are better after he beats DLH?
Yes, if he had beaten a prime dlh, his standing would go a bit higher. I like pbf, the problem with him is that for the last few years, he has gone on the slow pace quality wise, I am not saying that it is his fault by any means. For one I think Zab was a very dangerus fight for him. But he needs to beat the best of his time, at the moment, you have hatton at 140 wich is unfinished business (I dont think he can beat pbf), Cotto, SSM for starters at 147. I don't think that anyone is at his technical level exept Zab and we saw what happend there, but that doesn't mean that he can't loose.
People are giving DLH too much credit for the fight with Mayorga, remember, this is another of Tito's left overs. I will agree that he looked good on that fight, but Pbf is not mayorga. I will give credit to PBF for fighting at 154, and giving up a lot of his advantages to fight this fight. I still see PBF winning this fight.
I have been keeping quite on this subject, but after watching the fight a few times the best I give ODLH is 4 rounds, and that is being as fair as I can be. The problem with most people in here is that they expected a fight like DLH had with Mayorga. This is the biggest problem with this fight. There is no way DLH was going to do anything near that againg Floyd.
Now I am waiting for the people who say that Floyd won because he was running, to them I will say that DLH was lucky that floyd was boxing, because the few times that floyd started to go forward it was DLH how took the punishment, take a look at round 5.
Now, when DLH took Floyd to the ropes, do you really think he was doing great in most of those exchanges? I don't think so, I saw DLH throwing a bunch of punches not landing much if anything segnificant and wasting energy. This is the reason he lost, Floyd is better in every department.
This is a fight that I would love to see. I am not a big hatton fan. I think that he is good at what he does. But my money would be on PBF. Hopefully we will hear something soon.
man, I don't hate Trinidad or anything, but how's he gonna win ANY of these fights? i mean he can't beat anyone with solid defense (Sturm, DLH, Hopkins), he can't beat anyone with a good jab (,Taylor, Sturm, DLH, Hopkins, Quartey). I mean it depends how bad Vargas and Mosley look this coming month. I guess Trinidad would beat both of them, but the others? At best I say Trinidad wins against 3 of these opponents. Y'all are on some Puerto Rican shit...
Sturm might want to trade ( i belive this) and he would get ko.
Taylor, will trade. He almost got KO'd by hopkins on the first fight, what do you think will happen when tito lays some leather on him?
Quartey dont know much about so i will leave it alone.
Vargas will trade and get ko'd.
I like shane but I think tito will win this one too.
Now DLH at 160 is too slow, and runs out of gas so that might be a problem for him. If he can do the 12 rounds and not run out of gas I think he might win, if not then tito.
Hopkins, I dont think that tito should fight him again.
