Miguel Cotto could clear out the division?

well I think, Cotto would soundly beat everybody on the list but Mayweather or Mosley, but I'll like to see what happens when Cotto & Hatton would, that would be exciting.

I'm stickin with all my votes from March. Cool poll to bring up and one that will be relevant over the next year and a half or so or at least until Cotto loses. I see I picked Mosley, Williams, and Mayweather over Cotto. He should definitely avoid those guys if he wants to keep his 0.

The only one I see giving Cotto fits, because of that looooong reach, paul Williams. Mosely of late can still bang, but Cotto will prove too much for the aging Shane Mosley. Floyd's uncle Rog would never let him brawl with Cotto.

Floyd and Mosley have the potential to outbox him for 12 rounds and I can't go against a great boxer vs. a great puncher. But I definitely think he's the toughest fight out there for either of them. Cintron would be another guy I'd have as a long shot purely based on one-punch power. Other than that I don't think there's anyone on that list that I'd be worried about beating Cotto.

Mosely would be the fight I'd be most unsure about.

Cotto beats most of them, toughest win would be against Mayweather.. But the person he does not beat is Sugar Shane Mosley.. Cotto simply will not win this fight Mosley is my main concern as a Cotto fan but i still think he edges it over the full 12. Mosley (who im a big fan of) Yelped out loud in agony when Forrest caught him with a body shot in there 1st fight and Vargas was slowing him down with his body work 1st time around too, just sumthing that sticks in my head but Shane works the body very well also! It will if it ever happens be a battle for the ages!

and actually, urkal caught him a lot in their fight. imagine if urkal could punch with power? True but Cotto punches with power and he caught Urkal more. Perhaps Cotto would have tightend up more if he was concerend about Urkal power? He wasnt so we dont know but thats my feeling

I think that you could defeat or have a reasonable chance of defeating anybody on your list.

I don't know on what planet people are living if they think that with his chin and vulnerability could last past 6 with Margarito. We have a lot of haters considering Margarito injured his hand during the fight, dealt with a injury while training that should've postponed the fight but Margarito went through it and beat Clottey. Cotto loses to the larger fighters like Margarito and Williams, and the upper echelon like Mayweather and Mosley. Margarito came through with a hand injury as many others have in the past including floyd, COTTO, Gatti, .... Margarito catches everything you throw at him, Cotto's left hook to the body is just nasty, I saw Margarito buckle at least twice to Clottey's shots and Cotto's a bigger puncher than Clottey, maybe those are some of the things people living in other planet think. Dont get me wrong, I like Margarito, but he's gonna get pounded.

Love Cotto but he hasn't shown me anything that makes me think he can get past Zab. Hope he kicks the shit out of Judah though.

Cotto is a very solid fighter...but I'm a bit unsure why this poll has him beating almost every legitimate weltweight out there. What have others seen in his last few fights that make him so imposing? I've seen skill, but also flaws- and some mental weaknesses. Cotto is very good but his last few fights have been against people who shouldn't have beat him. Branco - do we remember this guy? Never heard much of his before or since, honestly. Malignaggi...no one gave him a shot in hell. Sure, he put up a fight...but to whose credit is that? Urkal. We're giving Cotto Welterweight credentials for this effort? Cotto is moving up to 147 and I haven't seen him show with his temperament in a fight, coupled with his chin, he can really use his skills to clean out the division. I'm still not sold that he can take Zab. Sure, he has a good shot, but I'm not sold he'll dominate or anything. Why are we all saying Cotto can whoop ass at 147? Quintana?
