I think he is the best Welter weight fighter on the planet and will be Undefeated for more than 7 fights most likely - even tho there are fighters out there such as PBF Mosley and Judah with the POTENTIAL to beat him! He wont retire undefeated IMO hardly any1duz!
Also Cotto i beleive has always wanted the big fights that in Judah he is now getting, he has 100% confidence in his abilitys always has! His promoters are now unleashing him amongst the elite, and i beleive 1 of the critics only flaws against him will be dispatched of- (Who has he beat?!)
The other "flaw" his chin, im sure its back to its best now but the critics will find out soon enough -0 Zab is the divisions premier 1 punch hitter IMO and Toney can bang too!
as long as he keeps fighting guys he knows he can beat, he should always win. (Then you run across a guy who sucks,(we're talking world level here..) and then exposes you on national television by nearly knocking you out..(Torres))...
Hmmm, Abdullaev beat him in the first rd of the olympics yet he took the fight, Pinto beat him not once but twice and he took the fight... So much for fighting guys he knows he can beat. Not to mention taking the Judah fight which he didn't have to or offering Tony a shot at his title which he didn't have to.
Cotto is perfect at 147 but too short for 154. At 147, he could have a hard time with Judah but Judah is one punch from getting wobbled by Cotto. If Baldimere could hurt Judah, Cotto certainly can.
But Cotto has also shown his side of vulnerability from the Torres fight and DeMarcus Corley at 140. However, Cotto had to starve himself to make that weight. It can make a difference when you fight on an empty stomach.
he fought urkal because he knows better than to go after floyd, margarito, or mosley...lets not forget about paul williams, or if he really wants a shot at the title he'd have to actually fight a PUNCHER in berto, something that won't happen.
Lets have a look at what you wrote here. He fought urkal because Urkal was his mandatory, the same mandatory that to step aside money so Cotto could have a chance to fight for the title, this is called in Puerto Rico "mantener tu palabra" keeping his word of fighting him.
Floyd, are you serius? Floyd is fighting DLH on may 5th so please stop talking crap here.
SSM, Now here is a fight that I would love to see, and as the Judah fight I think Cotto has a chance to loose more so than others. But once again, you put Cotto in a seat that he has no control over. GBP and their little fight with Top Ranks over Manny are making things difficult to make a fight with fighters from these two camps. Before this feud, SSM had mentioned Cotto, after his win over Collazo I have not heard a real call out from SSM to Cotto, wich to me is odd.
Margarito, guess what? Cotto offered the june 9th date to margarito and who pulled out of the fight (that was to everyone on the side lines a done deal)? no it was not Cotto it was Margarito, so once again you have nothing to say here. Cotto steped up, offered the fight and Margarito went to fight Williams for less money.
Paul Williams, he is fighting Margarito. You can talk about fighting Williams after he fights Margarito. If he wins then and only then can a fight between these fighters can be talked about.
Berto, Can't say much about him, cuz I have seen only 1 fight from him, but I am sure that there are more recognized names for Cotto that are better for his carrer at this moment than Berto and hit just as hard SSM comes to mind.
In conclution please get your facts straight before making opinions that have no relevance at this point.
its hard to sa becuz it also dpends on who he fits after zab, and also if he wins against zab. bu ti give him 3more fites until he fights sum big names and has trouble wit them
he's just as chinny as judah.
and before u say judah is chinnier, he isnt. they have about the same chin, cotto just hasnt been hit by a guy like tszyu yet. cuz he avoids guys like tszyu and goes after pussies like urkal.
He is not as chinny as Judah. The difference is Cotto may go down but he gets up and is able to come back. Judah has never been able to do that. He also is more focused and mentally tougher than Judah. When Judah gets in trouble he always falls apart and can't compose himself. Cotoo has gotten in trouble but has been able to keep his composure. When are people gonna learn that Judah will never be able to put it together. He has all the talent in the world but mentally can't do anything with it. He does this time and time again. He will lose the major fight and come back and beat up a few scrubs and people are right back on his band wagon ready to crown him an elite fighter. He may have elite talent but he is not an elite fighter until he proves he can get his head right, I just don't see that happening. he is gonna go down to Cotto.
Not by this fella.
If Cotto wins I don't want to hear any excuses..
You sure won't hear any from me.
He's a good man for taking a dangerous fight with Judah. :beerchug:
Good to hear :burnout:

Personally I like Cotto, he's a pretty good fighter and has an entertaining style. But I think he has flaws and I think Judah will beat him. Just trying to be objective here really.
i like cotto, i don't hate judah either, though. i think cotto will win this fight, because of judah's weaknesses. zab has to get rid of cotto early or he'll lose the fight. i think the early rounds of this fight will be like fireworks, cotto's never been tested at this level before. the big problem with judah though, is he's a front runner, he'll run out of gas at around the 5th or 6th round, then it'll be all cotto. shit, this fight could end up a draw
but i am also curious to see how miguelito handles a speed demon like zabdiel

I love how people are setting Cotto up for a lose-lose situation. If he loses; well he lost, he was overrated ofcourse. If he wins, Judah wasnt "focused", and anyway Judah already lost against Baldo and Mayweather. Seems to me Cotto wont get his props no matter what happens.
Personally, I think Cotto will destroy Judah by KO in the middle rounds. He will get his first defeat against PBF or Mosley, not before.

HOW ABOUT NOMORE .. WHAT IF JUDAH BEATS HIM
That's what it was meant to mean..
Although I can see the confusion.
As in; after this NEXT fight he will no longer be undefeated.
1 more fight.
.....I like Cotto and I hope he beats the ugly right off of Judah. I hope the kid stays unbeaten for a while too. Call him chinny all you want but he sure recovers quickly. I think he's learning and getting better all the time. More than a few people on here are diminising his skills, and I think that's a big mistake. Judah has nothing and was never anything special to begin with. Here's to Cotto making that ***got do another chicken dance.
AMEN
..
I honestly don't care what happens to either fighter, not a fan of them.
But I do have the feeling Judah will KO Cotto.
Even though I hate Juhad and have nothing agaisnt Cotto.
