I have said over and over from the day the fight was made that it would be the ugliest, most boring fight you could imagine between two great fighters. Not a suprise to me at all. Hopkins HAD to fight that way to have a chance to win. Agree totally. People should have realised that Hopkins was gonna do what he did. I personally dont find that to be excusable, I though Hopkins was a sick joke to be honest. He is a really dirty fighter and an incredibly boring fighter. Had Calzaghe not been coming forward Hopkins would have been content to go backwards all night even if the crowd had been booing since round 2 onwards. He doesnt give a shit and that is why I have been saying for the last 2 or 3 years that the guy is bad for boxing. A neutral watching that would have turned off after round 3. In saying that Calzaghe didnt impress me either. He was far too confident going in, got fucking chinned in the first and proceeded to make the same mistakes Hatton made against Mayweather. He should have known that lunging in and missing was only gonna end in a clintch. Hopkins doesnt make fighters fight his fight out of skill. They fight his fight because they feel the need to go forward or face boos from the crowd. They have to make the fight against him because he is such a negative boring cunt. Absolutely hate Hopkins (as im sure you can tell), have dont for some time now and I hope he fucking retires. Everyone is going on about a great effort from a 43 year old. I dont know, I found it to be very soul destroying to be honest. He did fuck all but go back and hug, headbutt and arm lock from round 4 on.

And if Guzman grew a pair of balls, with the speed he displayed against Barrios he could fucking do damage to PAC. Hopkins biggest wins were over smaller guys who moved up several weight classes (Winky, De La Hoya, Tito) and the top names he's faced that are his size (Jones, Taylor) he lost to. Eubank, Lacy and Kessler are indeed better wins at SMW than Tito and DLH were at MW, and Winky at a catch weight 25 pounds over his natural weight. Tito, DLH and Winky are great fighters at their natural weight, but have been proven to to mediocre at MW. There's no doubt about it. Agree totally with Calzaghe. Hopkins record of opponents is actually quite poor. Im glad somebody has finally come out and pointed this out. He is a spoiler, cagey fighter. But I dont think he is nearly as good as he thinks he is. Que all the Hopkins nuthuggers. And by the way it is well documented now that it was the rpime Hopkins who was not interested in fighting Calzaghe. That cant be disputed anymore.

115-112 JMM. Not disappointed in the result, many of the rounds were razor thin... I am disappointed tho. While some of the rounds were razor thin and you have Manny's 10-8 round, there were so many rounds that you just couldnt make a case for Manny winning. Thrwoing punches that graze your opponents head are not good enough. Look at Manny himself after the fight. He thought he lost. It was like Barrera in the 2nd Morales fight. He knew he lost and was surprised when he got the verdict.

Manny won because he landed more punches per round. Isn't that how fights are scored? Who ever lands the most punches per round usually wins the fight right? It's not won by Marquez looking amazing in the last round and thats about it. What the fuck are you talking about he threw and landed more? What fight were you watching? And no its not how boxing is scored. If someone lands jabs but nothing else in a round. Yet the other guys lands a couple of solid combinations, who wins the round. The guy who threw jabs landed more. There is a distinction between certain kinds of punches, punch quality and the damage they do. So no that isnt how fights are scored. Yes in amateur boxing, nit in the pro game.

It was a close fight that went to split decision by one point, people screeming robbery don't know what a "Robbery" in boxing is. Marquez blew it in round 8 when Pac coulden't see well and was there for the taking, oh well it was a great fight and Im glad both guys made it out without getting too hurt. Juan Manuel Marquez beat Barrera but it was a close enough fight. I thought that was the fight when Barrera slipped overnight. Look at his body for that fight, his speed compared to the second Juarez fight. Big difference. I thought Barrera won the first 4 rounds but JMM took over from there. I have always favoured him over Morales, and I think the fact that he won there series will ensure that he is placed over Morales in any official lists! Bernard Dunne - Whats the kid all about, how far can he go? For some reason ive missed all his fights but i like the sound of him. Who is a fan of him? He is a good fighter, got great boxing skills. He came up through the wildcard gym. I remember watching a documentary were Freddie Roach was interviewed about up and coming stars and he said..........there is a kid in the gym who has gotten the better of Pacquiao a few times in sparring, his name is Bernard Dunne look out for him! I havent forgot that.....I think Ian Darke of Sky was the interviewer! Obviously this was a few years back, but he'll if Roach is saying that you know he must be a decent fighter!

Marquez won the fight. I scored the fight 115-112 for J.M. Marquez, if the knock down was scored for Barerra, it would have gone 114-113 for J.M. Marquez. Good call mate! I was impressed by Barrera because he was clearly adapting to the fact that he didnt have the same stamina anymore! Marquez for me wasnt very impressive! Plus I think Barrera has shown that his chin is weak!

Point being taken away is ok there. Rules say when a fighter hits the floor (slip or knockdown) you can't hit any more, there is no warning needed to take points away. (Note jmm was also hit while on the floor in his 3rd knockdown againts pac, pac lost no points) But that's also a knockdown so that should of been a 9 8 round. But jmm did have a good round besides being dropped. I don't know if I'm allowed but I made that a 9 9 round. Over all I think I had it 113 114 for marco, but some rounds could of gone either way, I can say a close victory for jmm is decent scoreing The Pac fight is the key observation there is no difference! Marquez didnt deserve a 10-8 round it should have been 10-8 for Barrera! The idiots who said it should have been 9-8 for Barrera.............what rules are you judging by????????????????????

I think he meant on how close the fight was...MAB's punch while JMM was down could have cost him the fight if the judges were scoring the fight correctly.
