LOL at Garcia trying to scare Khan
thanks for link. cant stand dannys dad... hes a biggot and loser living vicariously through his son. dannys ok but i got Khan by KTFO.
The dude is 37 years old....in boxing terms he's an old man....
or is he the exception???
I think Chavez got some things going for him...size, power, age....
he hasn't been through too many wars and he started late by boxing standards, plus he's slick so he doesn't get hit cleanly too often... so no.
im thinking the same bradley shows up that showed up against pac and we'd have a very boring fight. floyd has a beast mode but bradley wont land enough and/or hard enough to make floyd enter it. instead floyd and bradley will both be waiting on the other to come forward... it'll be 12 rounds of feeling each other out with floyd landing an occasional shot on him.
you know what...
it isn't pac fault that mosley and bradley were afraid to bang it out with pac and only showed up to not get KTFO (jmm will always have the timing of pac down). i say put pac in with an ortiz or berto... those will be some real entertaining fights and better than cotto2 or jmm4 or bradley deux.
what's pretty obvious to me is he seems to have issues with a fighter's overwhelming popularity and would like to be considered as some sort of maverick who goes against the grain.
this is the vibe i got.
i wouldnt be suprised if it was vs floyd at 147 in late very november so canelo can keep his belt even if/when floyd wins. i like canelo alot, one of my current favorite fighters but he just isnt ready.
at the end of the day its a solid fight and i'll buy it (much better fight then vs canelo/guerrero IMO). i think 1 legit loss to pac and getting cheated by margs is not enough for me to write off cotto just yet as not being able to compete with the best fighters.
if not THE fight, then floyd/cotto i'd defintely buy. or even floyd/berto if he gets by ortiz... just saying i wouldnt doubt berto wanting that pay day even if he has to go straight into another camp.
If Chavez jr handles Sergio Martinez next week, why not match him up with Andre Ward? He's definitely big enough to go to 168, and probably should be there now. I think its a money maker of a fight. Not so sure the Chavez folks would want it though.
if chavez moves up to 168 i'd give to ward, if ward went down to 160 i'd give it to chavez.
You can choose Amir Khan to Canelo Alvarez. Sergio Martinez claims he can mae 154 and I believe him. You got Erislandy Lara to Timothy Bradley. THrow out names you believe can beat Mayweather now. Hes 35, less ring generalship than years past, and his strength at 154 isnt ko'ing everybody. WHos on your short list if your smart? Is it Manny Pacquiao, Sergio Martinez, or Alvarez? Who beats Floyd?
Only one who gives him a hard fight is pac IMO. Canelo could probably hurt him once or twice if they fought but he would be out-smarted down the stretch... Floyd on points in the Canelo fight, draw if Floyd and Pac fight.
Not suggested??where have you been this is THE fight most want at 154
lol yup! i see cottos jab busting canelos face up but canelo doing all the real damage. cinnamon ko10.
tha jab!
i think cotto COULD surprise a lot of people using the double jab and keeping his distance... boxing but actually making floyd come after him. i could see cotto popping the double jab to make his way in, throwing some 3-4 punch combos and then backing up - rinse, repeat.
of course i COULD also see floyd be willing to deal with the cotto jab in order to land the lead right.
So we're all talking about the Mayweather-Cotto fight at work and everyone keeps bringing up the 2nd round of Floyd vs Shane.
Everyone says that if Cotto lands those kinds of shots, it'll be over for lil Floyd. I beg to differ.
So the question is, do you guys see Cotto having a moment like that at some point in the fight? Will he rock Floyd with something big? If so, whaf do you think happens next?
i dont like your only two choices. i dont THINK cotto will rock floyd but if he does it'll be from a left hook... probably a double left hook, 1st one downstairs to pull floyds guard down a little, then the 2nd upstairs.
by what date?
if in a rush then obviously the may/cotto ppv. i think the main event will be pretty good and canelo/mosley should be a war. PLUS, you can tune in for the main event on fox diaz/miller hopefully before those two fights start... assuming this person is into mma only?
PPV thoughts...
Good card, i think canelo/mosley will be fight of the night. i think mosley gives a great effort and him and canelo just go all out war with canelo either stopping shane late or taking it by UD.
i think pbf/cotto is a good fight and credit is due to BOTH fighters for making it happen. i think cotto could be to floyd what jmm is to pac... im not sold on cotto being past his prime for losing to a cheater (margs) and a top 3 p4p fighter (pac, arguably the best depending on who you ask of course). i AM sold on cotto being a smart fighter with plenty of heart and skill to boot.
i think tony weeks is a good choice, clear and quick in his actions and i cant remember him ever being a homer for anyone (?).
should be a great night!
I like MMA but truth be told most of the people I know who watch it are hipster shrimps who do so because they grew up watching WWE and are entertained by the 'clash of characters' drama it promotes.. MMA has a very immature audience whereas most people who watch boxing have a more profound and meaningful interest in the sport.
this pretty much sums it up right now. i would like to add that i love the fact i can watch BOTH with great pleasure! i have friends that only watch one or the other... feel sorry for them. boxing is my 1 and mma a close 2nd.
this is getting old... the radio host had no real venom and did just come off as a hater and floid shouldnt give a flying fuK! kinda strange and it really makes him look insecure.
Who gives Floyd the toughest fight? Simple question fellas.
voted canelo. i think he'd be more patient... will he win? no clue, but he'd make it a closer fight than ghost. i can see ghost being ok from the outside but as soon as he gets in close floyd would have a field day with them quick uppercuts.
lmfao~!!!!
"like he just did a 20year bid in san quentin or rikers island" hahah oh sh1t great vid!~!!!! lol
thank you for the TRUTH!!! down with *******s AND *****e's!!!
floyd gets to decide and he's too busy right now injecting his whole body with xylocaine, he must have forget to tell them to start the "random" testing
All i know is floyd was all for random testing at any point and spoke pretty freely about it...havent heard a fuking word of it since pacman forced him to fight shane...w/e.
Guess you missed all the interviews after him and Shane got announced. He has talked about it more now then ever, cause during the Pac vs Mayweather talks he didnt talk at all about it himself .
I must've. props to floyd if it is TRULY ost and not some 'only when I SAY' type thing. it could be a very good thing...or very bad. i think it would suck azz if one fighter gets tested a week or two out and another fighter gets tested an hour before the fight but we'll see. i find it very easy to imagine a fighter crying foul play in a situation like that btw.
