Andre was about to get JT'd, he got knocked down in the previous round and AA was coming for the KO. I think he opted to take the easy way out when AA caught him on his knees. I'm sure that punch hurt, but it did not knock him out. Let's analyze this for a minute.
Right after Andre got clipped, his initial reaction was to complain, he looked up and started to say something and even blinks a couple of times. He's completely conscious as he reaches up and holds his eye with his left glove. Then almost immediately you could see the "light bulb" above his head as he drops to his back and starts to "twitch" laying there with his eyes closed. He was even making facial expressions while he was laying on his back faking a knockout.
OK, if you're KTFO, you don't look up at the ref and start to complain about getting hit, then have the conscious ability to squint your eyes and reach up and hold the eye you got hit on. That was an act and a bad one at that. And that piss poor display afterward... horrible... "What happened, what happened"... "I got dropped man"... "He hit me while I was down". Crying like a little bitch.
This is what happens when a fighter gets KTFO...
ts is right, either ur knocked out or u aren't..there is no lookin up to the ref when the punch shuts down ur brain.
You've obviously never watched boxing.
You guys seem to forget that a lot of your punch resistance goes out the window when your face is relaxed and you're not expecting it, especially right on the side of your jaw like that.
Griffin did the same thing in the first RJJ fight.. He looks at the referee then falls into a deep sleep... so whos acting job was better?
Roy did a damn combo on that guys face... Thats not out of the moment mistake, thats a pretty big one... doesn't matter though, boxing has too many rules. I mean if a boxer is dumb enough to trip up on stuff in the arena then its partially his fault for getting hit in my opinion.
I mean jesus christ this is a fighting sport, what do they expect? Boxers trying to punch the other one, if the one boxer could stop slipping over the god damn place. I mean I don't remember Calzaghe or other boxers slipping all over the place like Griffin and Dirrell did. Why are they constantly freaking slipping anyways? I saw Allan Green fight alot, and I never seen him slipping all over the arena all sloppy like few boxers do.

How about Zab Judah getting up on shaky legs, looks at the ref, then drops back down. Crazy things happen when you get hit up side your head.
Why doesn't everyone admit they have no idea what the outcome would have been if AA had gotten Dq'd? Thats the truth!
I'll admit I don't know but there was a 90% chance that Dirrell was going to survive. AA couldn't touch him in the 11th and all Dirrell had to do was run for the last 2 rounds.
Nobody could have held it against Dirrell for running and not throwing punches either as AA spent 9 rounds being a sorry ass and doing f*ck all to win the fight.
Maybe you didn't watch the fight, but AD was slowing down in the 10th and 11th round with his work-rate and was dropped in the 10th round. What do you mean this idea people are getting? Did you close your ****ing eyes for the 10th round?
Did you close your eyes for the 11th? Cause AA had not landed a single punch in the first minute of the round. Not one.
How does not getting hit at all equate to almost being knocked out?
You've got a lot of nerve cussing at another poster when you are denying the facts of the matter yourself.
I don't know where people are getting the idea AA was coming on. He was desperate and was throwing wildly. Dirrell was wining round 11 with his movement and sharp punches.
Agreed. Dirrell had landed 4 or 5 scoring blows in the first minute of the round an AA hadn't even touched him before a glancing jab before the cheap shot.
People keep saying Dirrell was tiring but there was plenty of snap on his punches and his legs were still fully under him.
If anyone was tiring before the DQ it was Abraham who spent a lot of energy in the 10th and had absorbed about 100 body shots.
**** a rematch, abraham will get whooped every time. Just keep the tourney going
You mean outpointed but AA is the type of fighter that one punch can change a fight, and he knocked Dirrell down in the 10th round... Rematch is what I want and a shit load of fans want! You and few other oddballs don't want it to happen tho.

AD reaction did seem a little over the top but who knows...rematch happens within a year i hope.

I think dirrell coulda gotten up, but he woulda been ko'd if he did. That shit rocked him, and was prolly maaaad dizzy but thats about it, he wasn't out cold, and he was putting on a acting show
You just said what I kind of feel, the shot kind of rocked him but it looks like he put on a skeptical performance. I mean the kind of performance he put on was a type where if it was that serious he would be in the hospital.
Also, they did a very poor job at getting him to a hospital. And showtime was trying to get an interview out of someone who was just supposedly brutally KO'd. So, if he is brutally KO'd why is showtime trying to talk to him right after the KO?
I mean he just had tremors and was shaking like a god damn crack-addict on the canvas and convulsing yet he got up and was completely cleared by doctors? :wtf:
If AA was coming on so strong and was about to win by KO then how come he had not landed a single punch in the 70 seconds of the 11th round?
Dirrell had gotten back to his gameplan and was controlling the round and AA was pissed off that he had wasted his chance in the 10th. He hit while he was down because he knew he wasnt gonna catch up to him again.
There was a point in the 11th when Dirrell literally ran from the Abrahammer. :lol1: No wonder he didn't land much.
