Well Cotto has some good skills to win this fight ,first he has a solid real good jab, he also has the body punch witch you could be 7 foot tall and if you get hit with a hard body shoot you go down easily also his timing is real good he uses timing excellent and the most important thing in the fight his patience is the key to this fight. He has the power to hurt and even ko floyd that's why i don't agree with everybody here saying that cotto has no chance he has lots of chance in this fight i wouldn't be surprise if he wins relay the men is where he is today by fighting the best with out excuses or anything. I personally do give cotto a shot to win and i think he will win its like they said style make fight and cotto has a style that is gonna make it hard for floyd. Cotto is good at dictating the fight. He's good at being first. He's got good balance and timing. He's got a good fast and stiff jab. He's got good body shots. He can switch to southpaw. He knows how to cut the ring off. His weakness of gassing out in the later rounds seems to have been fixed. Mayweather's pace won't be the same as Pacquiao's or Margarito's. Then again Mayweather also has those same skills. Cotto was winning the fight against Margarito until he gassed out. He's other loss is against Pacquiao, the big shot in the 4th round was something he didn't recover from. The questions are: Will Cotto gas out? Will Mayweather dictate a pace similar to Margarito or Pacquiao? Can Mayweather land something similarly hard as Pacquiao's punch in that 4th round? Who ever dictates the tempo of the fight and consistently lands first will win.

Realistically not much other than a puncher's chance. Floyd's got a good chin and defense but maybe the left to the body will be his kryptonite. It'll be interesting to see if he lets Cotto wail away on the ropes while he rolls/slips everything but leaves his body open for the left.

tha jab! i think cotto COULD surprise a lot of people using the double jab and keeping his distance... boxing but actually making floyd come after him. i could see cotto popping the double jab to make his way in, throwing some 3-4 punch combos and then backing up - rinse, repeat. of course i COULD also see floyd be willing to deal with the cotto jab in order to land the lead right.

He has to fight him the way JLC did. High workrate, movement, nonstop pressure, and body punching. What he can do better than JLC is jab and use timing. If Cotto implements all these into his strategy then he can win. But it will be very difficult for him to even apply all this yet alone remain consistent with it throughout the fight.

When Floyd leans against the ropes and lets his opponent throw (which he does at times) Cotto's left hook to the liver could hurt Floyd... That's about it I also see Cotto catching him with the straight right hand against the ropes as well.

I actually think the first 3 rounds will be Cotto having some success but after Floyd starts to time him it's game over. He will throw that jab and get countered right over it. I really think Mayweather is going to try and KO him to go out with a bang before he goes to the slammer. I am going to see if somebody wants to put some money down and I NEVER bet money ever. I got Mayweather winning a UD or late round stoppage.
