Dirrell beat Froch anyone who knows boxings knows this
Froch > Calzaghe
Groves stops Froch in the rematch after already being robbed in their 1st fight
Exactly. People act like Cotto is this power punching master boxer at middleweight, but he's not. He's a guy who's always had a porous defense and stamina problems. He had very good power at 140, good power at 147, and ok power at 154. He was getting dropped by the likes of Pacquiao and hurt by guys like Mayweather and Trout. Now, he's supposed to move up to 160 and defeat a guy who hits harder than all of them, has terrific stamina, and has the exact style to give Cotto nightmares?
To answer your question: yes.
Martinez is a shell of his prime. His style relies on athleticism and half-decent Euro boxers like Macklin, Barker & Murray gave him trouble. Arguably, Murray beat him.
I think Martinez has a knee which could shatter at any given moment. Hence he's not running. He has had serious hand & shoulder problems aswell. Perhaps Chavez Jr took something out of him in the 12th.
Cotto could do it.
You know the viewing figures for Golovkin's last fight on HBO were 400k more than for Martinez's last fight on the channel?
Martinez doesn't want to fight Golovkin and Di Bella doesn't want to put him in with Golovkin. That's the reality.
Golovkin's promoter doesn't want to put him in with Ward right now, and Ward doesn't want to fight Golovkin either (despite his deliberate ambiguity to make it seem like he does).
Ward wants Golovkin because he knows how to box him. It's al good Triple G looking good against sub-standard opposition. I think Ward has all the tricks to neutralise him.
Calzaghe busted up Roy because by that stage Roy was a washed-up has-been. Isn't it funny that in Roy's next fight after Calzaghe he was stopped within a round by a journeyman? Who are Calzaghe fans kidding?
Calzaghe is a fine example of Frank Warren's managerial skills. Added with the Calzaghe's inherent obsession with cherry-picking, you get a 46-0 record. Great stuff to man on the street. But a clear fraud to the boxing hardcore.
Green K this post and I will hook you up
I've found it. And I think I've sent you a Green K anyway.
Have you got a good stream?
This 1 is a bit pixelated.
Cotto is 1 of the boxers who kept my interest in boxing alive. Back from when he started at Jr. Welter, this guy takes on everyone. Sure, he's lost. But what a fighter.
If he beats Martinez, maybe 1 more and then hang 'em up.
Calzaghe had 1 PPV fight his entire career and that did 200,000 buys in his fight against Jones Jr LOL!!
That speaks for itself.
Like I said, he's a slightly better version of Sven Ottke.
REGARDLESS of how much they make, it will NEVER conceal the fact that because Pacquiao looked so good, Mayweather Jr asked for a new standard of drug testing.
Translation: Mayweather Jr saw the fight as too risky. Same way he did against a prime Margarito or Cotto.
Coming from a Mayweather fan.
Do Cazaghe fans seriously believe Hopkins ducked him yet chose to fight him at 43 years of age? Hopkins has boxed everyone - his CV s**ts on Calzaghe's.
Calzaghe is slightly better than Ottke. But not by much. I think Reid did enough to get a draw against him, and Hopkins just made him look like a total amateur.
He didn't beat a prime HOFer in his entire career.
He ducked everybody: Prime Hopkins, Prime Jones would have HUMILIATED the PUSLJY.
Beat nobody other than Kessler a good Euro fighter . . .
Hopkins schooled him at 43 lol
Terrible cherrypicker and complete crook.
Bradley took a knee against Ruslan
12th round, he couldn't take any more shots, he clearly takes a knee.
WE remember when Cotto did against Hands of Plaster Tony Margacheato, but that's understandable because 1-eye had loaded hands.
What does this say about Bradley?
I think Bradley does more than Marquez to take the W
Let's get one thing straight. Floyd is a coward and insecure about his own talents. That is why his entourage is so large to begin with. He wouldn't step near a ring with any of these fighters. PERIOD. He loses to all of them. A prime Oscar was good at using his size and legs. He would have outpointed Floyd for a decision. Hearns is one of the strongest two fisted punchers in history, ala Felix Trinidad and would have murdered Floyd. Who do you think Floyd is? An all-time great? He is not. He is good at match-making. Whitaker is the true greatest defensive fighter of all-time and had a better jab, better legs, and you couldn't hit him with ANYTHING. Not a jab, not to the body. People calling Floyd the greatest defensive fighter in history are young and dumb! Floyd is susceptible to a good jab. He gives you his body. He was marked up by Cotto and Cotto wouldn't have touched Whitaker. I think we know who wins the Floyd/Pacquiao fight as well. If he thought he could win, with the amount of money at stake for that fight, Guess what? He would have taken the fight!!! He didn't because he knew his hands would've been full and that he could've have possibly lost. Floyd is over-rated and a product of the times. In another era, he'd have 3 or four losses facing the best. Defense can only get you so far against B-level competition. All of these fighters are extremely active and efficient for 12 rounds. One of Floyd's problem against ATG's would've been his low punch rate. Duran and probably Chavez beats him because of this as well. His chin is good BUT how good? If any of these fighters hit him for 12, could he take it like they could?
It's this kind of insight that makes me want to look at the forums on boxingscene.
He loses a close but clear decision to De la Hoya.
I've not seen enough of Hearns to make a call.
Sweet Pea would be a boring fight which could go either way.
Pacquiao would give him all he could handle, that's a 50/50 fight. It was because of Pacquiao that Floyd suddenly preached RANDOM TESTING - that's how amazing Pacquiao looked.
Floyd is a product of his time. A great boxer. And a pretty decent guy when you look into his eyes. But his glorified sparring session sent me to sleep.
In order for Mayweather to be considered an all-time great, he has to fight BRADLEY & PACQUIAO.
A smart guy and great filmmaker, but that line of reasoning does not in any way prove non existence nor existence of a supreme deity.
On alleged topic: I agree with the opinion that a devout fighter might have an easier time focusing in his preparations for a bout.
But I don't believe that this is the topic you actually have in mind.
I accuse you of proselytizing atheism. Otherwise, why quote Kubrick? Why not just ask the question?
I think that if some dude came in with a long winded come-to-Jesus quote from a well respected (even worshipped) filmmaker and then posed the same question, he'd be run right the fck out of here.
So, in the same spirit, GTFO w/that ish!
For the record, I believe in God, but have little use for religion.
Athiests don't do ''proselytizing'' ...
You're a Diest, good for you ... but you have all your work AHEAD of you!
ANY thinking person knows what Margarito was doing.
He's a convicted CHEAT, and I don't give CHEATERS the BENEFIT of the DOUBT!
I can say with great certainty that Margarito cheated Cotto - and possibly others.
It doesn't matter anyway - Cotto retired Margarito.
You live off something that's a fantasy. Nothing factual. Prime for prime, Margarito annihilated Miguel. That's the only salient fact.
These aren't the words of a thinking person.
Margarito is a CONVICTED CHEAT, in a Court of Law he lost his boxing license for LOADING his gloves for the Mosley gloves. Refer to the link below.
IF you want to give a CHEATER the BENEFIT of the DOUBT then that's your choice . . .
SOMETHING tells me your stance would be different IF it was one of your favourite fighters who were cheated, but I realise you're a moron and I'm sure most people on this site also realise that.

Khan certainly does not deserve a fight with Mayweather but money talks in business and with Floyd. Khan can and will bring in a lot more money than anyone not called Manny Pacquiao.
His sales in Europe (Muslim fans) and most of the Arab and Indian Sub will bring in a lot. If this actually happens then I would love to see what Khan can do in the first few rounds.
Most of Khan's fan in 'Europe' are not Muslims - or at that, his main following is definitely not from the diaspora of the Indian sub-continent. The Indian sub-continent is host to Indians and Sri Lankans, who are mainly Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist - a lot of these people oppose Khan mainly down to a historical context.
Khan has a strong following from the Pakistani-British community. He also has a strong following from all stripes of the boxing community in the UK as he's able to fill out arenas and do pretty decent numbers - not all of these people are Muslim.
Interestingly, Khan has a decent following in the States and there's a perception he's liked more in the States. It comes at a time where ties between Pakistani-Muslim communities in the UK are at odds with the other groups they live amongst.
Anyway, Khan would be a good proposition for Mayweather but he doesn't deserve the fight. And his major downfall, that punch resistance.
This account started after that fight :lol1:
You need to take into account their history. Canelo had issues making 154 and issues making CWs before and barely made 152 years ago when he needed to go down to 150. Canelo has gotten bigger now and it will be tough to make 152. Objectively. we will see fight night but the odds are not good for Canelo as he showed all the signs in his last fight at 154. Low work-rate and stamina issues.
Cotto said after weigh-in that "I ate very well, I'm too healthy and too strong for Manny" and post fight interviews "I lost because I just couldn't see Manny's punches, he was too fast". Just as importantly, when looking at the fight with your own eyes, you can see that Manny's angles and speed was just too much for Cotto and Cotto didn't look drained.
Regarding Coto, say what you want but funny how he went up straight after to 154, isn't it?
David Gaye belongs in the Hall of SHAME
@ Crusier, his best wins were Enzo Maccaroni & a blown-up shopworn mediocre midget in Mormeck.
He was stopped by Carl Thompson LMAO
Put down by Monte B & Mormeck
Completely FAILED against Wlad in his CAREER-DEFINING fight
Beat a statue in Valuev - an alphabet title
What he did to Tyson Fury was not only a disgrace, it was predicted.
Haye is a cancer to the sport and truth be known, I hope either (1) he never recovers from his injury to box again, or (2) he boxes again to have his career finished via annihilation.
David Haye - everything about him . . . :gay:
I don't normally hate on boxers, but Haye is one of the exceptions. I really hope he gets a real injury this time, but one where we'll never actually see him again - ever.
Nope...
I thought Canelo was a great finisher till I saw him hurt Trout and did nothing about it.

Trout recovered well and wasn't out on his feet. He came back well in that round.
