When will he stop ducking GGG?
GGG is talking about ****ing Andre Ward because he knows Sergio "Count Quackula" Martinez is never going to step up
Guys duck into another division all the time (Burns to escape Broner)
But how often does a guy GET ducked into another division like GGG?
Sad thing is I hear Sergio was ducked a little during his career too....
Classic case of the duckee becoming the duck
Martinez did 600k or so v Murray, Golovkin 1.3m or 1.4m v Stevens. If you want to go back beyond Murray, then Martinez v Macklin did 1.1m - still less than Golovkin v Stevens.
If you don't think Martinez is ducking Golovkin, then we can expect Golovkin v Martinez if they both win their next fights, right?
Again, where are those stats from? A reference would be nice.
And yes, I fully expect GGG next for Martinez, unless he looks poor cos then he'll probably retire or he gets a big offer for Canelo, Chavez II or Ward/Froch up at 168.
Where's the links for your stats?
ALso, Martinez's last fight was against Murray, an almost unknown outside of the UK and it was meant to be a tune up or a "home coming", heck the fight was held in Argentina, not even Pacquiao could pull big numbers for his international, Chinese PPV. If we've learned anything, it's that American fans will not switch on for a fight on foreign soil wit ha time difference.
I have never, ever seen Martinez duck or dive anybody, unless he says something, there is noway I will claim he is ducking GGG. Did he skip out on GGG for Cotto? Hell yeah he did but it wasn't a duck, Martinez has no idea what his body has left and Cotto will bring him his biggest payday and a slight boost to his legacy. It's a fight that makes sense for him.

Ward wants Golovkin because he knows how to box him. It's al good Triple G looking good against sub-standard opposition. I think Ward has all the tricks to neutralise him.
He has never said he wants to fight Golovkin, it's always "down the line". He said he wanted to fight Chavez, rematch Froch but never Golovkin.
Certain fans like to pretend he wants to fight Golovkin because they think he would end what they see as the hype but Ward himself isn't interested. He might be interested if Golovkin beats Chavez, but Golovkin will be moving back down to fight Murray who has signed a deal to that end with Golden Gloves SA.
You know the viewing figures for Golovkin's last fight on HBO were 400k more than for Martinez's last fight on the channel?
Martinez doesn't want to fight Golovkin and Di Bella doesn't want to put him in with Golovkin. That's the reality.
Golovkin's promoter doesn't want to put him in with Ward right now, and Ward doesn't want to fight Golovkin either (despite his deliberate ambiguity to make it seem like he does).

Does anyone even expect a competitive fight if GGG and Martinez fight? I mean Martinez is quickly on the downward slope and has many career threatening injuries. GGG is an extremely powerful puncher who brings a lot of pressure and boxing ability. What do you think is going to happen? Do you just want to see Martinez as a sacrificial lamb?
If I were Martinez, I would be very hesitant on facing someone like GGG. I think at this point in his career, he's looking to make a lot of money while keeping his health intact so he can retire. To call Martinez a duck is just disrespectful. He's fought the guys nobody wants a piece of and he's paid his dues.
I do want to see the fight if Cotto gets destroyed. If Martinez fails to deliver then my interest in him fighting Gennady would diminish. A win over an old and unhealthy Martinez will not be credible, even if it is the biggest name that can find its way on his record.

These are my thoughts exactly, before 2013, hardly anyone knew GGG, now a few more people know but he isn't exactly a huge name in the division and has yet to face a legit threat besides Macklin (good win). GGG has carves a career beating no names and smaller men where as Martienz carved out a championship reign beating bigger men, champions and legit contenders.

Ggg hasnt been relevant long enough to be ducked by Sergio. I love GGG but its the truth. To be the man you gotta beat the man so the ducking logis is flawed when talking about the lineal champ. No one is afraid of gGG. Mora wanted it. Martinez has said hed fight him...Chavez and Ward too then all of a sudden they backed off Ward... Only Quillin seems to be uncomfortable with it...and Sturm. Even if i hated Sergio theres literally nothing bad i could say about him dudes one of the most deserving champs in boxing. Ducked out of his division and becomes the lineal champ fighting much larger men. Until gGG faces some quality (as much as i love him) he doesn't qualify as someone the lineal champ would duck.
