I think Mayweather is trying to unify the division and become the undisputed Welter Weight Champion of the world. He is going to try to defeat Maidana, then Porter, and finally, Manny Pacquiao. I say Pacquiao, because I believe he will defeat Bradley and regain his belt. Kahn does not fit into that plan. He may be an interim fight, but only if Mayweather truly believes he can beat him. Khan will not rise to the level of competing for the undisputed championship. Of course, the quest for undisputed champion shouldn't be an easy one, and I hope it isn't. Only after trying to unify the division, can Mayweather feel confident that he has honestly done all he can in boxing. It is also the only way that he can come close to getting the props that he seems to so desperately seek.
I guess my hope that the khan floyd fight doesn't happen is wasted, especially once Devon nutted on Sat. As long as danny doesn't have a fight announced I can hope he gets it but with each passing day it looks more and more like Khan.
Very dissapointing.
Big Dunn is relieved its not KHan!!!
What you forget is Floyd controls GBP
He's basically a silent partner, they makesure Floyd is happy, he is their meal ticket
What Floyd says goes
Richard Schaefer is Floyds servant, like he always says "Floyd calls the shots"
Richard told Khan not to fight Devon as a fight with Floyd was secured, contract was sent out and he signed it.
Khan walked away from a million $,a title shot and a pillow fisted boxer, in thinking Floyd and Richard were true their word
The art of deception
Khan needs to go over to Top Rank, at least they wont hide their best away from him
This doesn't make any sense.
1. Khan and Alexander are both with GBP, so why would they negotiate the fight in the first place?
2. Why would Richard and Alexander's team continue to negotiate with Khan for them to fight after the news was being leaked that Khan had Floyd next if he won? Alexander himself has confirmed this, including agreeing to a contract weeks after Khan went silent on the matter. A contract he couldn't have negotiated without working with GBP. So again if Richard was telling Khan to not fight why would he continue to negotiate the fight with Alexander?
3. You do realize Alexander is advised by Al Haymon, the same man who puts together everything Floyd does. So I ask you, if Khan really had the Floyd signed, sealed, and delivered like you claim why would Haymon continue to negotiate for Alexander to fight him? I mean, if Khan lost that would really screw thing up wouldn't it?
All the stuff you said is bs spouted off from team Khan and all of raises big questions.
What most likely happened was Haymon wanted to put Floyd in with the winner of Khan-Alexander. However, GBP probably told Khan he was a finalist for the Floyd fight so they decided to not risk losing so they blew off Alexander. Alexander said himself in the build up to the Porter fight that a win would put him in the Mayweather picture. Long story short the fans hated the Khan fight, Alexander lost, and Maidana won all of which threw a wrench into the system. When the dust finally settled Khan was the odd man out, but he most likely made his own bed by not fighting Alexander.
So Khan ridicules Bradley for not fighting him and instead pursuing a Pacquiao fight. Now he doesn't fight Alexander so he can get a fight with Mayweather but gets snubbed and I'm supposed to be sympathetic. No way.
There is a big difference between between pursuing a fight with someone and being promised a fight. Who in their right mind wouldn't drop everything they had on their plate if they were promised a fight with Mayweather.
Both fighters have been known to bull**** the public. So who knows?
floyd said these thing in september...
'If you deserve a chance against me then I will give you it but not because you are running your mouth off.
'I know Amir has been running his mouth off saying he wants to fight me but he wont earn a shot that way.
'If he works hard and proves he is worthy of a shot - that's when he will get his wish.'
So now we are taking Floyd Mayweather Jr. at his word?
How about these gems from the past:
"I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he's not comfortable. I want a guy when he's at his best. If he's at his best at 154 and he's strong and he's solid, then that's the fight we're fighting at." Then fights Canelo at a catchweight.
Or how about " And yes Manny Pacquiao, your next."
Or how about this one from his boy Ellerbe before asking for a 2 pound catchweight for the Canelo fight: "He was a dead man walking when he went into the ring," Ellerbe said. "The casual fan doesn't know what difference one or two pounds can make when a fighter is already down to weight. Fighters know."
Point is, even Floyd admits he contradicts himself all the time. Floyd, Floyd Sr., and Ellerbe were all talking about how Khan was next after the Canelo fight so don't give us that he needs to earn it BS. Khan was the pick until they heard the public backlash and Maidana made himself an acceptable cherrypick after his win over Broner...
One of the reasons Khan signed with Golden Boy over Top Rank was that he was promised a Floyd fight down the road.
After his losses it was now or never for Golden Boy and it seemed after the Canelo fight that Floyd, Floyd Sr., and Ellerbe were on board to fight Khan with some of their comments.
Its seems the public backlash along with Maidana beating Broner and becoming a credible cherry pick changed that...
So Khan ridicules Bradley for not fighting him and instead pursuing a Pacquiao fight. Now he doesn't fight Alexander so he can get a fight with Mayweather but gets snubbed and I'm supposed to be sympathetic. No way.
No he ridicule Bradley for accusing of "Running out there" got offered the fight then duck the fight that he asked for. It's irrelevant that he fought Casamayor and then Pac, baseline was he accused khan of ducking him.
Naw what happened was Mayweather had no one to fight no one at all, so it was going to be khan but then Maidana pulled off a huge upset and they saw how the Mexicans came out for Maidana and all of a sudden Maidana seems like a legit oppenent instead of the farce of a fight with khan. Floyd will be an idiot to fight khan at this point of time.
Agreed, I don't think Maidana was an option too. Until the Broner fight and how people actually pushed for him to get the fight.
Khan dissed Bradley for what he did, then he tried to steal a page from his book, too bad the result wasn't the same though. That karma is a real biatch
lol so true!!! only difference is bradley was actually a viable option for pacman, khan isn't one for mayweather or atleast shouldnt be
This is all hype. Floyd trying to hype the fight because he knows it's not a big PPV event. I also think he's playing with khans head a little. Khans getting the fight as much as I hate to see it
Come on you really think this is going to get people to change their tune and start feeling bad for khan and upset with floyd cause of what they think he did?
You really think this will get the masses talking?
Oh wait
Khan dissed Bradley for what he did, then he tried to steal a page from his book, too bad the result wasn't the same though. That karma is a real biatch
